I've seen hundreds of live shows, and some of the best were in Harrah's Cabaret in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, where I saw everybody from Iron Butterfly (22 minute version of "Ina Gada Da Vida," to Boxcar Willie. Among the absolute best shows I saw there were by The Mamas and the Papas in the early 80s. It was John Phillips, Denny Doherty, Mackenzie Phillips, and Spanky McFarlane, of Spanky and Our Gang. Mackenzie would sing a KICK ASS version of the theme song from One Day at a Time. FANTASTIC voice.

The other male singer is John's friend Scott MacKenzie("If You're Going to San Fransisco"); he made his own mark on music history. There is Mackenzie Phillips(John's daughter) and the other lady whom I do not know..Nice song , nice post.

He gave me his guitar pick and the play list. I still cherish these items. The original Mamas and Papas had great harmony. No one has ever equaled them.
