Hi there, I'm an avid motorcyclist but looking for some advise into purchasing a twin-seater offroader - partly because my sisters are still too young to ride motorcycles by themselves around the farm (and surrounding trail) so instead of a tip-over prone quad, Hammerhead 250 or Polaris RZR170 I'm thinking of a oranz buggy or 4x4 that can also be used for racing when not taking the wee ones for rides -...
Hi if you go on to trademe put in offroader you will see sum good ones for sale there are a couple of twin seaters in there as thay are oranz sert thay are a lot safer than the ones you have mention hope this halps you
...I've skimmed over the rulebook but there are just too many classes to make sense of what's the most cost effective/best bang-for-the-buck option - don't really want a VW based ride. I'm in Chch with a $6000 budget limit for such a toy. Any thought would be appreciated, cheers, Alex.
Hi Alex you may look at a class 5 or 3 for that price but tere is a offroading club in ch ch if you go to oranz. there is some ph numbers of the club members give them a call thay will halp you out cheers Pete
@559hb thank you - I will phone around... in the mean time do you know what are the running cost of these - do they require frequent repairs/readjustments to the running gear, even if no crashes/blown engines occur? Cheers
@aleshamahon In a season if everything goes ok you may only need to do oil changes. It does depend on your luck and how many accidents/ crashes you may be involved in. For my overall expesses on an average year about $2,000. As far as the cost of motors go it depends on the size of the motor. A 1300 motor like i have you can pick up for about $1000. Hope this helps.
