@HadarHed The virgin conception and birth was an act of God. Mary was legally Joesph's wife, but they did not come together until after Jesus was born. He had brothers, or half brothers who were Joseph's sons.

I hate to tell you, but this part is not really based on scripture. there was no woman there helping Mary to give birth. It was just her and Joseph. The part about the shepherds is ok. It doesn't show it here, but there were no maji (wise men) there either. They didn't show up for almost 2 years. Check out the accounts of His birth in the Bible. Holywood always adds to everything. @upwards11 In the movie, the woman was not there while Mary was giving birth - she showed up later to help. It's true that it's not Biblical, but it's also not outside the realm of possibility that it happened; there may well have been those at the stable who were interested in Mary and Joseph and wanted to do what they could, but they simply had no room and were too busy with the census.

@sdacj True, it isn't out of the realm of possibility, but it isn't mentioned in the Bible so we can't assume it is true. There is no mention in the Bible of any women showing up to help out either. The point is that we need to stick to scripture and not assume facts that are not stated. God has told us all we really need to know.
