obviously the honda motor has the edge. lets face the facts valve in block technology was outdated then but fords goal was an affordable V8 for the working class and with proper power to weight a blown flatty can be very quick like in the 12 second range in a street car. that is quite a feat for a seventy year old obsolite small cubic inch motor.

Yeah man, I'm using a flathead in my 34 Ford. Went to a hot rod show recently, no flatheads at all, most cars/trucks use small block chevy. I'll stick with my flathead!!

Like the hot rods of old , they just look and sound better every time I see them . In the 50's we had Street Rods ( Chevy engines in the front and wax in the trunk ), and Hot Rods ( Flatheads in the front and Tools in the trunk ) . Me , I had a slightly modified 50 Olds Stick and could run with either group . The Flathead owners were the true Hot Rodders , They could start with an 85 horse 59AB and make a screamer out of it . All the Street Rodders needed was money .

Angry Yes, If isee a car with a blower on it i expect it to run. But i have seen a "blown flathead' get spanked by a all motor honda. I do not love honda nor do i own one. I will admit these cars are alright....if all you do is look at it and not get on the gas. And i do have some vids of my "almost paid for 1986 yugo." not the fastest thing in the word but meh.

This isn't a cookie-cutter fiberglass, crate engined, billet ridden dime a dozen wanna be. This is a real Hot Rod.

Ford Flatheads were about 100hp, this one may be a little more (probably no more than 250 max).

Power is fun, but true Hot-Rodding wouldn't exist if these guys didn't keep on reminding us how it got started, and what it's all about. Without them we'd have nothing but a bunch of arigant dicks driving $80,000 cars that somebody else built for profit and not out of love.

I mean, what did you do to improve it's power?

Like, what kind of carbs, pistons, bored cylinder size, stroked(?), heads, exhaustpipes, mufflers, e.t.c what did you use on this flathead before you supercharged it?

I would like to know(and maybe others to), this version sounds so awesome.

I'am having some plans on making an HotRod out of a VolksWagen Bug, and make it a BugRod, with a Ford Flathead in the front of it(tuned, not a standard Flathead), it's going to be black, with classic HotRod-flames, chopped roof, lowered suspension or something like that to make it low, maybe Tuck 'N' Roll-interior or at least something to give it a more ''Ford-feeling'', and some other details. So, that's why i would like to know what kind of stuff you used to make it sounds like this.

Flatheads is the #1 HotRod-engine in many ways, and most ways as well.

They sounds so godly compared to modern V8s, nothing beat the sound and beauty of a roaring Ford Flathead, in most cases at least^^
