i have just done a huge amount of research on the idea of the "rapture" theory and how that started. Because this idea was not known before the 16th century. There is not going to be a "rapture" of the church as some think, but there will be a gathering of all peoples at the end of time for public judgement by God. The "rapture" is a recent doctrinal inovation with no real history behind it.
Revelation 7:4 says in verse 4 - "And I heard how many were marked with the seal of God- 144,000 were sealed from all the tribes of Israel." Than goes on to name every tribe with the amount which is 12,000 a piece like Judah for instance.
Revelation 7:9-14 talks about a vast crowd, too many to count and from every tribe, language and nation standing in front of the throne the ones who been redeemed from the earth after the great Tribulation. They washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb.

Not everyone is addicted to drugs like I was maybe some ppl out there who have other habits. If those seek God and ask him for help, He is faithful and He will. But you have to be willing. God has helped my family get on our feet with a job, a place to live, and making ends meet. When all else fails, turn to God. Take it from me, I tried on my own and failed time and time again.

Sometimes they can't relate to another which makes it hard for them to listen when they don't know first hand. But not in all cases. However, we are suppose to be non-judgmental and compassionate towards all people and accept them reguardless.

Than I found about a class on Wednesday nights for people's hurts, habits, and hang-ups called Celebrate Recovery. When I first attended I was still doing it but kept going and finally one day I had no desire to do it again. I couldn't believe it myself. I was so happy to finally be sober for the first time in 9 years. But other than that experience God has blessed me in so many other ways after I began to get serious. I just pray others will give God a chance like I did.
Okay, well, I wasn't always walking with God. I re-dedicated my life to Christ over a year ago. I use to party, use drugs, which lead to a 9 year addiction and other bad things I use to do. I finally got settled down and needed to quit using. I was convinced that I could never stop. Than a relative invited me to church. I started going but didn't know if I was wasting my time because I didn't know much about church or about God. I wasn't raised in church so I had no idea what to expect.

The wheat harvest is the Rapture & following that is the grape harvest, described in Revelation as the tribulation.

Revelation 7:4 says in verse 4 - "And I heard how many were marked with the seal of God- 144,000 were sealed from all the tribes of Israel." Than goes on to name every tribe with the amount which is 12,000 a piece like Judah for instance.
Revelation 7:9-14 talks about a vast crowd, too many to count and from every tribe, language and nation standing in front of the throne the ones who been redeemed from the earth after the great Tribulation. They washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb.

Than I found about a class on Wednesday nights for people's hurts, habits, and hang-ups called Celebrate Recovery. When I first attended I was still doing it but kept going and finally one day I had no desire to do it again. I couldn't believe it myself. I was so happy to finally be sober for the first time in 9 years. But other than that experience God has blessed me in so many other ways after I began to get serious. I just pray others will give God a chance like I did.

Okay, well, I wasn't always walking with God. I re-dedicated my life to Christ over a year ago. I use to party, use drugs, which lead to a 9 year addiction and other bad things I use to do. I finally got settled down and needed to quit using. I was convinced that I could never stop. Than a relative invited me to church. I started going but didn't know if I was wasting my time because I didn't know much about church or about God. I wasn't raised in church so I had no idea what to expect.

The persecution, the tribulation, the fire, is for us, the church. There is no early exit. It's the church that needs to be purified. The tribulation is the refining fire. Tell me, who is the gold and silver that God talks about? Us or unbelievers? Us, obviously. Why would God refine that which is not gold or silver? He would not. Anything not gold or silver would be burned in the fire. God is not going to refine anything that is going to burn forever in the lake of fire.

The Lord comes to get us in our hour of darkest need. He's not coming for the church when you all are going on vacation or watching a football game. It's going to be just like Noah: he endured many years of persecution before the rains came, when God himself shut the door of the Ark; and began the flood. God saved Noah just before the wrath of God fell. Noah endure the persecution, the fire, just like we are going to. No early ticket out people, we will all see the beast come to power.

Read Matt 24, the whole chapter and see that it is only after the tribulation that He comes. In Revelation John uses the 1000 years to describe that although the saints of the first century time of persecution would be short....their vindication would be eternal. It is the way 1000 is used EVERYTIME in the OT. 1000 means BIG or LONG.....not 999+1. Have you never read?

@ageofgrace ...for the Harvest metaphor, there is plenty of Biblical authority for it. Jesus compares the end times to a harvest himself and the Old Testament goes to great lengths to record just how the phases of the harvest occurred. That's why there is not wheat harvest mentioned in Revelation. It's the GRAPE harvest. Grapes were the last crop harvested. The wheat harvest is the Rapture & following that is the grape harvest, described in Revelation as the tribulation.

Preterism is an effort to cram every prophecy fullfilled into the 1st century. It is partially wrong. Disspensationalism is an effort to superimpose every prophecy on the 21st century. It is completely wrong. It is best to adhere to what the church believed for 1800 years untill shallow unlearned modern day wackos came along in 1830 ( Darby , Schofield etc.) The bible is a fairly simple book beautifully written with ample established concepts. Endtime pundants make a mockery of it.
