  • Doesn't that flashing light indicate the alternator needs to be replaced? It does that for our 1990 toyota pickup

  • @darkwolfy503 It was just the O/D light. It was a swap tranny so the light didn't detect the fuctioning of the old auto trans. so it is detecting it. When the alternator is out. There will be two light like you have said lid up. Don't remember what it was but you couldn't miss it. Tell you that your alternator is dead so you are just running the battery power until it is drain out.

  • wow you were maxing it out! sweet!

  • my 94' with the 3.0 would smoke that all ive added is a 3 inch strait and some weight reduction. the 5 speed really makes a diff on acc

  • i just bought a 2000 toyota 4runner 4cylinder its my first car and ever since i got new tires and rims which was the day after i bought it it makes this whining noise does anybody know if that is just what a 4cylinder sounds like or is that the tires and rims or something else?

  • whats the red light

  • @knaussbrad It is the O/D light. It does not needed no more and it can't detect it so it blink. I just forgot to take out the bulb out when I was fixing something behind it.

  • whuts the name of the song i need to know so i can put on my mp3

  • I have replaced mine with MLS head gasket. [ Multi Layer Steel HG ] It will hold the temp and pressure better than those normal HG. Mine is still giong strong. 25,000 miles with the MLS HG...

  • take it as your hmong and your in the SAC area.. since you was seem to be driving on 99 north,.. lol..

  • I am Hmong and live in the sacramento area, and I am not driving north. I am driving toward south... Went fishing on that day... =)

  • what happen to 110 mph?

  • It seem that it doesn't have the powerband when it nearly reach 100. But it was still giong, but slowly. Also it is pretty scary giong that fast on a 4runner. Wouldn't try it again... If I have to then, it would be running from the cops...

  • nice

  • is this truck constipated? its moving awfully slow...

  • These truck only produce about 150 HP and heard it likely give out less than that on the wheel. But it run better than the automatic I use to have before the swap. But these 3.0 have a very robust bottom end. The truck is still running good. I have driven it more than 13,000 miles with the new MLS HG. It was in the garage, non-opt. for a year due to a rear end damage so I finally got it fix.

  • how hard was it to change from a automatic to a 5 speed?

  • Well all I can tell you is this. I have no known of any mechanic work history. All I get is some little information out from the internet and use it to swap it. I can said that it is easy. Just time and some hard work toward it than it should get it done. With safety in mind and you are good. The 5 speed is a bolt-on to the current engine, 3.0 V6. The wire is simple. Need more infor. msg or PM me for any help.

  • is it normal for those 3.0 engines in a 4runner to be so sluggish?

  • not normal but these are old engine so it may need a big tuneup. Go to toyota forum for help on any of your truck is having...

  • nice that you got the music, cause you aint goin' anywhere fast

  • LMAOOO!

  • you have 33's on so your actually going faster..probably closer to 100mph i had 33's on my 94 4runner. it was about 9 mph off at 70.

  • lucky you. I could only get my 22r to go 75 down hill :(

  • my 22r with a cam headers and twin barrel carb, on 33/12.50, with a 7" lift goes about the same as this 4runner, but mine is standard and has been worked over, but the gas mileage and durability of my engine are far greater than ths v6!! :)

  • My truck has almost the same setup as you. little less lift but it has the same tires(33/12.50 on a 15 inch rims). What type of cam and headers did you get? Thanks

  • its a mystery cam and I think the carb is the original toyota aisin (or whatever its called) the two barrel one.

  • oh sorry you asked headers lol. its just a cheap one, im not quite sure of the brand name but its nothing to fancy.

  • Ok Thank you.

  • im thinking about getting a 96 4 runner... how much lift do you have? Im thinking about 2 inches and putting some 33 mudders on it... down the road maybe a snorkel.

  • It is currently stock atm. I want to lift it atleast 3" and probably fit them 33" with those 15x8 rims... But the cost to get them is pretty high...

  • Hey Mongyaj, you feel like getting an engine replacement, your V6 only has 145 HP, Switch up to a V8. The toyota engine you have is 3VZ-E, i have 5VZ-FE.

  • how about selling that to me???

  • if you looked behind him right now, you would see me pushing him with my suburban. the reason it took so long is he had the emergency brake on

  • my moms 1990 4 runner sr5 has 470.000 kms on it!

  • UM.. THAT TOOK FOREVER

  • its an auto tranny its has gutlless acceleration cause its cant power shift worth shit!!

  • i see below warning light O/D OFF

  • I saw that to.

  • haha, damn hector.. you really reached 125 on your 91? damn.. i only reached 115 on my '93 on 5th gear.. Sav shit tho.

  • That was weak. You didn't even get up to 100MPH.jk. But it is good to see another 4runner getting up over 95MPH, too bad 95 comes at 4200RPM.

  • Put other 200K on it then talk.. Already rebuild...

    WOW...

  • if you see the fuel gauge you can see it move for real lolo i have a 91 4 runner and i made 125mph the police certifiet that

  • lol.......dude.....it's a suv, not a speed racer. lol. you should post a video of going off-roading, not a video how fast your 4runner can go. lol.

  • 1000% agree!!!
