Quick questions, whats the difference between Yound Marines and Civil Air Patrol

@tippmanproductions98 there both the same. they're a non-profit volenteer program that are not school related. (there for, they are not JROTC) the only difference is that the Young Marines is a program founded by the Marine Corps League, the Civil Air Patrol, founded by the Air Force. Both are used to build leadership, discipline, and create a drug free life style for the person involved. I personally would suggest you join the young marines, since the fly boys do nothing...

Several errors with the video that i've noticed. To all young marines, dog tags are NOT allowed on the person when in uniform. However, they ARE allowed when on an overnight encampment. Haircuts; they do not have to be high and tights, they are acceptable up to 3 inches. The red/yellow young marine patch above the breast pocket must now be od color. Boot camp; It is the decision of the unit commander of how boot camp is runned, therefore, it's deifferent for other units. See your UC for detail

@OldBreedWarrior I respect your correction just one thing which i will look up I apoligize if im wrong or offending you but, Someone who is in the Young Marines said basically what you said but in a video but the only thing he said different is that you have to keep your dog tags on and tucked in. I will re-look at this and post again what I read thanks!

@TheZander133 Well unless the leader of the 6th Young Marine Division is wrong then yeah, your right. But I highly doubt that. From what he said, dog tags are not a part of the uniform. Anything that is added makes it a modiefied uniform, which is fine but is not the young marine national uniform. I'm a LCpl from Clovis going on to Cpl. so knowing this stuff is kinda what im suppose to do.

@TheZander133 Alright, I talked with the battalion commander of the 1st Battalion, 6th Young Marine Division and this is what he said. He said that dog tags are not part of the national uniform. Dog tags or anything else that is added on the uniform or person while in uniform that is added by the unit commander makes it a modified uniform. Modified uniforms and the national uniform BDU's are not the same. Look in your basic guidebook, it should have something in it about that. LCpl with Clovis

Hello to some of the people in the young marines im in the Houston,TX division for United States Navel Sea Cadet Corps (UNSNSCC) i want to join the young marines but they dont have the dress blues well at least thats what i know and if anyone wants to let me know how the young marines work and what not please message me back and the sea cadets a a good one also.

for everyone that says bootcamp is hard you were obviously in a wimpy unit. go to camp pendleton and you will never think of a easy boot camp

to all people who want to join im a PFC(private first class) you do as much pushups as u can its can be hard if u are not in good shape do runs before you start bootcamp it will help you out alot

boot camps doesnt suck unless your lazy fat lard and you cant even spell young rights....and if you cant remember what all your ribbons are!!! my unit is one of the biggest in the country!! we could kick your units butt!

Join Civil Air Patrol it is way better than young marines. In CAP you can learn to fly planes and go on search and rescue missions. We do get dog tags for emergenc

civil air patrol u dont get dog tags but u do get to do search and rescue for missing people ,encampments, and if u join the af later u go in as an e-3 paygrade

Mile High!!!!!! i really wish they would change the boot camp regs, they cant make boot camp feel like boot camp anymore, its gotten really depressing. also dog tags got taken away, nationals just needs to make it more like the young marines and less like boy scouts

@boopro1 I am in the Sea Cadets too, this was a while ago i know him. thier boot camp, not hard, they basicly sell alota cookies, a bunch of bull is what the Young Marines is. but idk about the other units, pensacolas is full of sissys.
