Lucky are we to see a new recording of L'amico Fritz - P.Mascagni ,

where A.Gheorghiu and her husband R.Alagna are wonderful and the conductor is great, for me is the opera rediscovered !

Let us hope they gonna record more Mascagni works !

I just adore her chest voice. I would like to ask her how is she doing that, to learn from her.

why on hell does she choses to darken her beautiful voice especially in the low notes but even in the middle register? it just sounds (and certainly is) as if the sound resonates in her mouth

I think her voice sounds just like this, she isn't forcing. I mean, we have in YouTube videos from her very beginning as a soprano (with about 20 y.o) and the voice was already darkish and dusky. Her very dark and "chest-like" low notes are, I guess, a way to make them more resonant, since in the beginning of her career she had a weak low register.
