  • Thank you~Thank you~Thank you sooooooooo much! You are THE Best! i love you for making this video lol i dnt kno what to say but THANK YOU!

  • @sweetiehmong You're welcome and please make sure that you make this outside since it's stinky...:P

  • hi, so this papaya sauce is used for what? how do i eat it..or is this just a sauce to mix in papaya for future? sry idk lol

  • @xsnoflakex Hi! It's no problem at all. I think I posted a video response of how to use this sauce, but if it's not there, I have a video for papaya salad.

  • how long do i have to cook it, and what is termented fish???

  • @toskevhlub I just simmer it until it looks like all the ingredients are incorporated into one another...that's probably 30 mins or so? I can't really explain what fermented fish is but you can find it in the asian grocery stores. I think they're also called mud fish.

  • what size electric pot is that? i just want to be sure cause you add the water in the end and i don't want to get the wrong size pot ;)

  • @soSOPHEAR Hi! It's your normal typical pot and do not know the exact size of it.

  • @forg3tm3not770 thank you! omg I just made this and ( i wish i had waited to buy an electric pot like you, but i was just too excited ;) and my house stank like dead fish for like 3 days hahaha but its gone now ;) but OMG.. this sauce is soooooo goodd! Awkon Ming ;) now i can't wait to buy some good tomatoes for my papaya salad to really taste it! ;)

  • @soSOPHEAR Yay! So glad that you tried this and you were brave to cook it indoors...LOL! I love receiving comments such as these. Have a good day neang!

  • @chachidte898

It needs to be stored in the refrigerator...

The last sauce I had lasted for about a year in the fridge, but if you're an avid papaya salad eater the sauce won't last a year. My Mom made this sauce and it only lasted about 2 weeks--since we ate it all.

  • @MzMy Oooh! I love learning new techniques...can you tell me how your mom makes hers?

  • what is this for? lol sorry didnt know what this sauce do. u put in papaya??

  • @mskatwoman022008 Hi! Yes, you put this in papaya salad in which I have a video response for.

  • is this a laos papaya sauce? cant we leave the pepper and garlic out and put dry shrimp? jw

  • @leehangg I call it, "forg3tm3not770's papaya sauce" b/c it's something that I created from tasting different regions and version of papaya salad. You can put dry shrimp and opt out the pepper and galic if you want. But, when you're creating the salad, make sure that you put at least a little garlic clove in there to mash.

  • Hi Bong, how long can you keep this sauce for? does it need to be refridgerated or can it just be kept in a cool dry place? (like a cupboard or pantry?)

  • @chunlyda Hi paowne srey...you can place this in the fridge for up to a year.

  • Hello, I was just wondering how long can the sauce last for in the jars?

And does it have to refridgerated ?

    Thanks heaps! :D

  • @chachidte898 I like to fridge mines and I would recommend placing it there for up to one year.

  • Thanks, I been trying to find the recipe on how to make this. Thanks a bunch I will try it .

  • @iluv805 You're welcome and tell me how it goes.

  • great video...

but i do mine but only like like 3 spoon of the shrimp paste, cus it hella stink and i don't like the smell/taste of the dead salty fish (pa lay) so I don't put that in... but when i make my papaya i will add more if i like it more...

so the whole bottle of fish sauce won't make the sauce too salty??

  • @nkaujhmoobvwj LOL! Yes, you can add only that, but if you do, it will really take away the goal of the sauce. This sauce has a lot of intense flavors in it b/c you will only put 2-3 tablespoons in your papaya salad. So yes, you would need to use the whole bottle of fish sauce to make it salty.

  • I read one of your previous replies to one of your viewers but I was still wondering how you eat it with papaya. Do you dip it in the sauce or do you pickle the papaya?

  • @ListenitupSon LOL! Thank you for your curiousity because I'm sure a lot of people have that question as well, but afraid to ask. What you do is mix it with shaved papaya. I actually have a video on it called Papaya Salad.

  • @forg3tm3not770 Ooh! Okay Thanks :)

  • I love your recipes and I just wanted to put in a request. Do you know how to make Khmer sandwiches? I'd love to see one of the many ways to put them together. They're so tasty!

  • I love asian sandwiches too but are you talking about those vietnamese sandwiches or the authentic khmer ones where they bake seasoned ground beef on top of a toasted french bread?

  • @kcl060 Thanks so much and I think I know what you're talking about. Are you talking about just those BBQ pork with the chrouk? Very similiar to Vietnamese sandwiches?

  • @forg3tm3not770 Yes, that's exactly it :). Mmmm.

  • Hi, when do you put the lid on? at the beginning before boiling it or when you reduce the heat to simmer?

  • Hi 123reminisce. You place the lid on in the beginning the moment you start heating it up.

  • Yum! Do you store this in the refrigerator? How long does it keep? What else can you use it for? Why do you boil it outside? And how long do you simmer it?(Sorry about all the questions-thanks for the tutorials!)

  • You're welcome pleomorphick. Yes, you have to store it in the fridge once it cools down and I like to keep mines no longer than a year. I only use it for papaya salad and nothing else. I boiled it outside b/c it would stink up the whole house if I boil it inside b/c you have to simmer it until all the ingredients folds into one another which would probably take around 1/2 an hour.

  • Ha ha! the smell is kinda what I thought, but I wanted to be sure :P

I will try it, thank you! Keep em coming!

P.S. do you have recipe for bahn xeo (or something similar?)

  • aren't you supposed to minced the garlic cloves?

  • I only mince the garlic if I use it raw straight into the salad. But, if I'm making it with the sauce, I put it whole b/c we'll be pounding it regardless once it's mixed in with the papaya. Please check out my green papaya salad tutorial.

  • so that's how the sauce is made. thanks!
