this is an awesome program. I have used it to practice and record with. It is surprising as to how good it is. The only problem i have had with it is that i can't cut and paste. Apart from that, it is really really good. When you plug it into a stereo it almost sounds like you have a drummer in the room.
i mean the iphone one looks fun as far as the beat machine. this one really doesnt. but in the end its all pointless to have any kind of beat machine on any phone. kool video though
Hello Saku Tiainen! Thanks for creation of the good program. If it is possible, please add sample kits for the Indian tool tabla. I can send you sampls for this purpose.

dude...let's see the iphone do this before you go on and on about how great the iphone is. And not for nothing, but my Treo 700p is better than an iphone because of the tons of software and games that I can run on it. The phone on this video would also beat the iphone.
Nice job! You figured out that the BeatEd UI is a nod to good old times and the Amiga/Atari/C64 music scene. It is also meant to be as clear, simple and usable as possible, not to have the slickest and glossiest wannabe-iphone-like graphics and animations. I grew up to use computers in the mid/late 80s as a 10y old boy and I still surely have more respect to those old DIY pioneers of "atari age" than to the modern age mobile industry crap. No offense to iPhone, you, or the mobile industry :)
Dude, I was being honest, there's nothing wrong with an Atari 2600 type interface if that's what your aim was. You certainly accomplished your goal, great job!!
i already love it

Hi Saku!
This program is awesome!
Could you please make a kit with metronome sounds (something like in Cubase) so we drummers can easily use BeatEd as a metronome...

Four new sample kits are available from the BeatEd home page.
The new kits include:
* Clapper Kit: 16 hand claps to build rhythmic clapping with.
* Glitch Kit: Edgy, sharp, shorty, unusual but usable modern sounds.
* Simmons Kit: Classic and lesser known sounds from the famous Simmons electronic drum kit.
* C64 Newskool Kit: Fat Commodore 64 8580 SID sounds from the master of SID drums, Linus/Triad+Viruz.
All kits are arranged by AMJ/(B), except samples for the C64 kit by Linus/Triad.
