we have floratam at work and it looks great cut at 2and a half to 3 inches.i know alot of folks say that too short,but its not scalped,and it just looks great at that height.it does require a ton of water though.
Even with all its faults, St. Augustine sure is beautiful. Holds up to traffic well, and the thick blades make it appear as though there's far more grass. Centipede on steroids.
im interested in sodding my front yard with st augustine,i live in glendora, california. the temp's lately have been between 85 and 95 degree,ive already tilled the soil approx 4" depth and in the prosses of leveling,is this a good time for this????
