  • Nice! I've got the same lens Tom!!

  • Dude, I just got a Letus, and have exactly the same thing you do, and this video answered my questions perfectly!

    EX1 - Letus35 Extreme, Carl Zeiss 1.4 50mm Planar.

  • someone is selling me the letus extreme adaptor, but not sure if it gonna fit my XL-H1 dont know if is up to the ring adapter, is it?

  • The edges look a tad out of focus. Are you missing an achromat?

  • was wondering how he did the sink since hes using 3 cameras was it plural eyes or just the hand clap what was it ?

  • You are pronouncing it wrong, LET US not LEETUS ... ugh people teaching one thing and then teaching the wrong way to say it... Just bothers me. LET US

  • its pronounce like lettuce not leetuce

  • wow this helps out alot! Thank you!

  • i recently got a letus adapter and im using it with a jvc gz-hd7. while scanning i tend to get delay on my camera's lcd lens. assuming the adapters are all lenses and mirrors this doesnt seem right. or can it? thanks.

  • @dakinehawaiian79 Make sure you disable image stabilization because it may appear to give that delayed effect but its just the image stabilization bugging out due to the mirror system of the letus.

  • @obe3 makes perfect sense. thanks and i really appreciate your reply and vids. keep it up.

  • what do you think about the SG blade ??? im going to get one for my sony z7

  • I have a Sony Z7 and there is no vinhetting at zoom ZERO with a Letus Ultimate kit

  • How is the letus on a JVC GY110?

  • What happens with panning and tilting?

I've never seen that using Letus, can you actually do it?

    Thanks !

  • amazing image quality from the EX1

  • Great explanation! But be aware that this vignetting will occur on different zoombases due to the used lenses... I use Zeiss ZF 18, 21 and 35mm lenses and there the vignetting stops earlyer...

  • This video gives the best explanation of the parts needed to use the Letus for the layman - like me. Question, is the letus only intended for 'stil' or stationary shots because focus is critical? What would you suggest for using a letus setup (if you wanted to maintain "film look") and for quick in-and-out focus shots and while the camera operator is moving. Perhaps the letus is not suited for this purpose and a 35 mm lens should be employed?

  • I think putting a 35mm lens infront of your camera changes the way you use it. You need to not think that you still have a video camera but you need to slow down the movements, just like as if you were using film. Let the action play out within the frame or get a very good stabilizer otherwise it will be useless to use an adapter in my view as there is no image stabilization and you want to avoid filming in 50/60 interlaced mode.

  • This is a really helpful tutorial. I have really gotten kind of obsessed with these adapters recently and have a made an initial foray into starting forum about these adapters where people can post tutorials like these called 35mmdofadapter (dot) com . In case anyone wants to contribute. This is a legitimate resource, not spam.

  • turn off stabilizer on the small cam. vig shakes

  • thanks Tom.

this helped me with my diy adapter too.

  • Hello, thanks for this good video Tom!

I love this camera and the lotus extreme... I wish I could buy one :)

So if I understand well you need to zoom in quite a lot to get rid of the black stuff around the image, am I correct?

  • This was a great video thanks so much! How do you like the Letus? I'm stuck on weather to buy the Letus or the Redrock.

  • Cool production man. Keep up the good work.
