Thinking about getting a 09 as 1st bike. Would you recommend this or are there things that are bugging you about it ?

Ive always thought forward mounts are kind of screwy after riding dirt bikes and sport bikes. I dont want to be in a too comfy position when i need to react to some fool on the So Cal freeways. I had an 883 with conventional mounts. And though they dont look as "cool" they make more sense to me. I like that some of the bigger bikes have both.
