I swear by my V1 in my V. Keep the government mafia from taking my money. The arrows make all the difference. Escort cannot even come close to the V1.
Any currently sold detector will do a decent job detecting X and K band. It is the low power and short pulse Ka band that can cause trouble. I have yet to see any evidence that the Valantine One works any better on Ka band than the off the shelf detectors.
Going 97mph in a 70mph in super sparse traffic (I only speed when safe) and the V1 picks up a Ka blip from a car way way up ahead.
I slow down to 70mph then get Instant on ambushed with a full blast of Ka...
30 seconds later I was back at 97mph and on my way. 8)
Ahahaha stupid pigs. Your'e not stealing my hard earned money. Go catch some real criminals,.. thats why you become a police officer right? OR was it? Assholes.
It can only be detected by the Spectre RDD. If you live in in Virginia, Washington D.C., or some country where radar detectors are illegal, your only choices are the $500 Bel STi, the $1100 Bel STi-R, and the $1600 Escort 9500ci. Even with these undetectable detectors, if a cop shoots you with radar or laser and he sees your brake lights or hears a change in your doppler audio, he knows you have a detector.
what cause's the change in the doppler Audio is it the sound the detector makes . eazy way to not have the break lights come on pull the hand break or mount a relay in your car to stop the lights form comeing on and a switch so then do come on when you want them to. i e-mailed Velentine and that said that they are working on a new Upgrade so that the Spectre cant pick them up. how ever i guess nothings fool proof would be good if they made a remote virson of the V1
The radar guns that cops use have doppler audio so if you are increasing your speed, the cop will hear it go higher in pitch. If you slow down, the cop will hear it get lower in pitch. The doppler audio has nothing to do with the sound the detector makes. A detector just increases the speed of the audio and visual alerts as you get closer to the radar source so that you can judge how close the cop is.
The Valentine One is the very best. I valet at a Atlantic City casino and notice radar dectectors in one in every five cars if not less. Usually their the inexpensive ones however i come across the Valentine One very seldom, when I actually do its usually in a high end luxury and sports car and that alone told me I should go with Valentine One. I had it for a month now and it hasn't failed me yet.
I must say, I LOVE my Valentine 1!! One of my family members had an Escort Passport 9500i.
We pitted ours vs. his against a smokey running constant-on, he in his Monte Carlo, and I in my Impala. Both radar detectors were mounted in the same place: center-center. He was 5 minutes behind me in moderate straight-road 2 lane traffic. I picked the cop up @ .5 miles, and he picked him up @ .4 miles.. and I held the contact after I passed at about .4 miles after.
hey mann this radar detector looks good and i hope it performs better than my shitty excort. i mean is it worth it? i spen 300 bux already and i dont wanna get fuked again. how much is this and where cani get it? how far is the range because im on highway 5 alot and its open strech fr like 1000 miles and i usually dont notice how fast im going.
You could of flashed your lights to warn the other people going the other way that they were doing radar. This is war help your teammates out.. lol =)
The different bands of radar used in the U.S. are X band, K band, and Ka band. X band is rarely used except for a few places like New Jersey which is why most people turn off X band.
K band is still used by many police departments but many door openers operate on this band so you will receive "false" alerts from them.
Ka band is almost alway a cop usually a state trooper but you can sometimes receive "false" alerts from crappy detectors that leak alot.
also, when you get the crappy radar detectors (i.e: ones that cost around $99 USD) they leak Ka band when they get too close to the V1, but the newer technology on the V1 will differentiate between a real radar source (Ka) and a "Junker" as denoted when it goes *dee da doo* and flashes "J"
Personally, I've had the V1 track up to 9 different radar bands, 3 auto-doors on stores, and 6 ACTUAL police radars, and then a laser.
It goes to the Laser as the priority, then Ka, then K, and then X as last
Nice clip there I like it.Thats the only val i would buy.But I live in virginia so i need radar detector that dont leak and its the bel sti driver i had it for 2 months with no tickets.
