  • ok, so let me get this straight.

'Excused from the services of the house' means you lose your seat indefinitely, the ayes have it, what the hell does that have to do with ringing bells?

  • These make those at Westminster look well behaved. Blimey.

  • The similarities between the house of representatives and a kindergarten are frighteningly abundant.

  • @LordAkira only the house of reps is for over 18s, the kindergarten down the road accommodates ages 1-4 years. I say we swap them around, put the 4 year olds in Parliament, and the Opposition and Government in the kindergarten down the road and see what the 4 year olds make of government.

  • Good old Wilson Turkey.... uh..... Tuckey...... typically acting like the hormone fueled juvenile he always is.... he can't help but disrupt the class....

  • wilson is a fucking lunatic

  • sure was nice to see Fuckey lose his seat last year

  • "Ah you've just undermined my high opinion of you! OWNED!!!"

  • Wilson is a hero!

  • Not about "gum-ment", trying to "a siss". Mumbling illiterate!

  • swear to god, they should just let him speak. so rude!

  • I think Martin Ferguson said the member for Dicksem. LOL

  • You're not half the man you were yesterday, Wilson. at 1:19

  • 0:26 Wilson Tuckey expressing his high opinion of something.

  • Was that red head in the background sharpening her knives?

  • @irishgodfatherchris

i think it's relevant that it's only the opposition party and not the governing party which was elected on the back of Rudd's popularity within the mandate. That and Turnbull's replacement wasn't a stab in the back but a clear policy disagreement which the party confronted him with. And I much preferred Turnbull to Abbott but I still respect Abbott because at the very least he's honest and not afraid of holding unpopular beliefs

  • Wilson David Jones is having a suit sale on at the moment Greives & Hawkes suits@ 50% off- Strike while the iron is hot!

  • their parliament is a joke in comparison to the UK. the speaker just makes everything worse by speaking over ministers and kicking everyone out. It's amazing how bad it is really!

  • @irishgodfatherchris

it's a bit different when they were only replacing the opposition leader who in Nelson's case was a dud who they never intended to keep until the election and Turnbull whose policies were unpopular with the majority of his party. Labor ousted Rudd without warning when he was the elected PM of Australia for no apparent other than that they thought they could win by doing so. Which they fucked up anyway

  • @ilikevines my point is he was the leader of the party, whether or not they are Government of Opposition is irrelevent

  • haha you can just see Gillard sitting there already scheming how she'll stab Rudd in the back.

  • @ilikevines I could say the same about Turnbull and Nelson and then Abbott and Turnbull ans it is Malcolm is still removing the knives from his back the Tony firmly placed in there

  • What the hell? Why do they need a vote to chuck some old wanker out? It's this kind of officiousness and pomposity that's made the Australian parliament so disinteresting.

  • they get away with a lot of shit in the Oz parliament ! In the UK those guys would of been warned then out in seconds !

  • He lost his seat to a national! HAHAHAHAHA even though I am a Liberal Supporter

  • It's stupid how that they have to have to a division if a member needs to suspended from the hosue. Just get the Serjeant!

  • lol at 2:30 "AH, YOU'VE JUST UNDERMINED MY HIGH OPINION OF YOU!"

  • lol at 3:27 "Oh, the member for Dixon!"

  • 2:30 haha i didnt know rodney rude was in politics

  • I thought the British House of Commons was unruly. Damn, lol. Actually, I kinda wish the US Congress debates were more like this, the US house sessions are so damn boring, and overly ass-kissing. These politicians need to face more opposition once in a while.

  • your parliament is FUCKING HILARIOUS! :DDD something like that would NEVER EVER happen in ours :D

  • @Wehrhafter - Have you watched any of the Paul Keating vids? He was a real performer!

  • hahaha look at Julia Gillard

  • Jeez, look at B Nelson sitting there.

  • Kevin Rudd = Worst PM in Australian history

  • @KillerKoala56 Kevin Rudd = one of the best PM's in Australian history that goes wrongly unrecognised for his great achievements in his extremely short term.

  • Why do you ozzies call it the House of Representatives. Why not the Commons like back in the UK or in Canada. Just sounds a bit American to me. But thats probably just my bias because i think the Westminster system is better.

  • @SuperGareth007 this is the Westminster system its just had a few changes in Australia. For example Australia is structured like a Federal Republic like the US but follows the basic principles of the Westminster system that we inherited from you.

  • @SuperGareth007Because the terms House of "Lords" and House of "Commons" is inherently offensive to an instinctively egalitarian society like Australia.

You really think the unelected House of Lords is the pinnacle of parliamentary documentary? Inbred, aged peers snoring in the corners or justifying having their moats cleaned at taxpayers expense? Muslims who arrived yesterday and handed their red robes on the same day because of rampant political correctness.

  • Wilson Tuckey for PM

  • Ahhh yes, "fuelwatch" you can add that to "grocerywatch", "home insulation" (watch all those house fires and DEATHS), ETS ("the moral Issue of our time" LOL - which vanished overnight) and over priced School Halls to the looonngg list of FAILED Rudd govt programs - a govt so TOXIC, Rudd's OWN CO-MEMBERS, dumped him in LESS THAN ONE TERM in the PM's job LOLOL - I'd bet Tuckey and alot of other people in and outside the House were up in arms! How many BILLION$ did the Rudd years flush away????

  • You've gotta hand to FUCKEY - he always knew how to (unintentionally) make QT entertaining.

  • the man is a disgrace

  • Kay Hull was the best thing that happened for regional NSW (member for Riverina)

  • Wilson who?

  • such a bogan dickhead

  • Division required???...Why bother even his own party cant stand him!!

  • @mrsgritoli1 He lost his seat because hes division changed due to the abolished seat of Kalgoorlie... he got about 1.5x more area in his seat.. significantly changing the voters in the area

  • Where's Wilson????......Oh thats right he LOST his seat.

  • Wilson's lost his seat from the looks of it. That makes me a Sad Panda and I'm not even from Australia!

  • Woah Your Speakers are so Pathetic...I think it is about time they Showed there Authority in that House. He just sat there saying.. .... Member is Warned..Ha Ha Ha.

  • @LABOURSUPPORTER i know aye! he never DOES anything! he's like a school teacher that keeps saying 'or else'

  • ill be happy when that speaker goes,he is annoying to listen to

  • Martin Ferguson is as incompetent as it gets.

  • wht are these books on the desk in the middle??

    Laws?

  • If Tuckey really wanted to he could become an independent as he normally has his own views and doersn't really follow whay his own party says! No point arguing with Wilson, he'll argue for 24 hours straight if need being!

  • YOU'VE JUST UNDERMINED MY HIGH OPINION OF YOU!

  • Turnbull was a merchant banker for Nugan Hand! how can anyone trust a prick like that?

  • Wow, what a heart-touching speech. As a keen motorist, I couldn't have agreed with Tuckey's words more. I believe this man has what it takes to take on a nation - lead Australia towards motorist-freedom and develop further intimate bilateral relations with other nations that heavily rely on motorists to support their economy, like India and China. Such heart-warming words of wisdom there, always brings a tear to my eye.

This man will surely promise Australia good days to come.

  • Can somebody tell me what the difference is between being warned, named, and kicked out under 94a? can u skip being warned and named and just get kicked out ?

  • @bmorant1902 I think under 94a you can be thrown out for an hour. When you're named you're properly suspended.

  • @bmorant1902 well the speaker can kick u if ur being annoying or disprtuive in the house so under order 94a standing u can be kicked for being warned several times

  • Wilson Tuckey is awesome!

  • Wilson is an honest man which you will never find in union leaders and labor party members. You know, ive been around the world ok people, and AUstralia is by far the best country in the world. Try going anywhere else and have this standard of living.

  • @iamdiaperman You are exactly right.

  • mate wilson is an embarrassment to the liberal party. I am a member of the liberal party and he has caused the party far more harm than good. he was one of the ringleaders who got rid of howard in the 80s and was actually stupid enough to boast about it on tv, foregrounding divisions in the party to the public. he has no loyalty to the party and was so dishonest he used his position as minister to try get his son off a ticket.

  • @iamdiaperman ever considered who was stepped on along the way to achieve this great living standard?

  • @BornskiAECC another bleeding heart ! there has never been a country in the history of the world that has gone through some form of hardship during the 19th century. get over it. affirmative action has failed and is a waste of money that has been spent on people who have no understanding of a modern society. go live with them ...

  • mate wilson is an embarrassment to the liberal party. • LOL@2.30 "you just undermined my high opinion of you!!" ohh so funny

  • Bahahaha. 2:27 looks like Brendan Nelson is putting the finger up at him.

Tuckey is a moronic imbecile and I have no idea how he got where he is.

  • Idolsofwood...you calling Tuckey is a moronic imbecile.......well.....his been there over 30 years is Canberra, ruffled many feathers and obviously has no intentions of leaving soon!

So what have you done for Australia?????

  • Comment removed

  • "his been there over 30 years is Canberra, ruffled many feathers"

he's been there for 30 years and he's been one of the most destablising forces in the liberal party. he doesnt give a shit about the group, if there's something he wants then he does it. he undermined howard in the 80s, was stupid enough to boast about it on tv, and misused his position as minister which is called CORRUPTION. i support the liberal party, and part of that involves getting fuckwits like him out of it.

  • @AussiePolitics .......mm need to think about this response.

So sounds like his a trouble maker?

  • if by trouble maker you mean someone who consistently puts his own selfish wants and desires before the good of the liberal party than yes.

remember when the whole story blew up about him using his ministerial office to try and get his son off a fine? corruption in a minister reflects badly on everyone in the party, and it shows what kind of a selfish fool he is and how little he cared for his colleagues. he would have know that if it was discovered it would tarnish the whole government.

  • @AussiePolitics ......I do remember the story in the media, Can you tell me,what year did that incident happen?

  • August 2003. remember the footage of abbott saying how he had embarrassed himself and his colleagues but had not lost their support - that is what being in a party is supposed to be about - caring about the people who support you and you agree with. not risking their reputations and the whole government just because you are selfish enough to try to use your ministerial position to get your son off a traffic fine.

  • @AussiePolitics ......sort of remember some of it, sounds like Tuckey has a few people by the balls, if a number of the party think like you do. Well why is he still there!

Sounds like Tuckey has a hold over some party members, well thats what I'm perceiving!

  • because the liberal party is not like labor - it lacks the power to interfere in individual electrate preselections.

tuckey as a few people by the balls? you mean he doesn't care how much he drags the liberal party name through the dirt so long as he gets what he wants. he's nothing more than a dishonest, corrupt criminal who is an embarrassment to the party.

  • @AussiePolitics ....you explained a number of things and now I have a different opinion oif Tuckey. thanks

  • that said mate, even though I don't particularly like tuckey for what he's done to the libs I do find him thoroughly amusing and he is one of the few politicians who makes parliament enjoyable to watch occasionally.

  • @AussiePolitics ......sweet, aye if you can tell me, what's Turnbull's game?.....reply to me personally if you want.

    I don't trust him!!!

  • i feel rather conflicted in regards to turnbull.

on the positive side i think he's extremely intelligent and could be a real asset to the party in ragards to policy (especially economic) development. furthermore in an electorate with such a high green vote as wentworth he was probably the libs best shot of holding the seat.

on the other hand having him on board is going to be destabilising for the leadership of the party because really he's in it for the leadership.

    what do you think?

  • @AussiePolitics, to be honest, I never did like Turnbull, there was always something untrustworthy about him. Him supporting the ETS confirmed my suspicions, he was a bad Liberal leader, the longer he stays in the party, the more damage he will do, (and thats exactly what he wants to do 'NOW').

Concerning the ETS, Turnbull was using his political position for his own personal financial, his personal wealth would have sky rockered.

  • i love it how pissed off the speaker sounds when warning the member for dixon

  • @idlevice066 oh the member for dixon :P

  • wilson tuckey is feral

  • Wilson Tuckey= bogan in a suit and clip on tie

  • Meant to facilitate the flow of question time. Not take over with rambling crap like jenkins does, smartass speddie2!!!

  • Jenkins reminds me off an old school teacher!!! He likes the sound of his own voice!!!

  • maybe thats why he is called "Mr Speaker"

  • He is the teacher and all the politicians behave like children.

  • what are they saying

  • A Fuel Watch Scheme will benefit consumers? Sure it will. Labor might wanna introduce a Hamburger Watch Scheme too!

  • The Speaker did eventually have to get the Seargant-at-Arms to eject him as far as I am aware.

  • "OH THE MEMBER FOR DIXON!!!"

LOL, the way he said it was gold.

  • Dickson.

  • I heard the "NO" is louder? How does the speaker actually makes his decision?

  • He didn't decide it there, He tried to force a division, which is a formal vote, calling all MPs in out of the lobbies, which is why he said, "Division required, Ring the bells"

  • government always wins divisions in the lower house, he just calls what they say

  • Another one where the "no"s clearly had the voice vote. Great partiality from the speaker here!

  • He didn't decide it there, He tried to force a division, which is a formal vote, calling all MPs in out of the lobbies, which is why he said, "Division required, Ring the bells"

If a matter can't be resolved by oral vote, a division is required.

  • I see!!

  • an oral vote is simply part of the process and a division always required

  • wilson tuckey what an old dinosaur! i bet he was half cut

  • at aroudn 1.32 the guy is kidna liek remebering a speech

  • Wilson Tuckey is like that crazy great uncle who refuses to take his meds and ends up abusing the whole family with incoherent rants.

  • What do you mean 'like'?

  • Did you write speeches for Keating by any chance? Lol

  • Fuel watch was a fucking waste.

Never implemented properly, never worked, and...there was no watching fuel in my area, hence such a service seemed ENTIRELY POINTLESS.

  • it was never passed by the senate, it never got implemented

  • Yeah, I did realise that.

I felt like a tool after I typed it :P

  • Wilson Tuckey is probably the only guy with guts in that room!

So WHERE IS FUEL WATCH? WHERE IS GROCERY WATCH? I think Tuckey is right and all you ppl that criticized him better think where has these 2 stupid 'watch' thingies went? labor con jobs.

  • ahh look at that complete freedom in that room.

  • haha fuel watch is gone now! What a joke, waste of taxpayer funds, along with grocery watch!

  • Wilson Tuckey is a waste of taxpayer funds too.

  • ...Bob Hawke, John Hewson, Peter Costello and the king himself Paul Keating used to go around. Mate back then an exchange like this was almost considered good manners. Those blokes had WARS, to the point when it was only parliamentary privilege that saved them from defamation lawsuits. Those days saw the mastery of politics, where belittlement and insult were used without fear. How boring Australian politics has become indeed.

  • remember the one between Tuckey and Keating? The one which pretty much ruined Keating's relationship with Howard?

  • Fireworks?? You call that fireworks?? A senile old racist like Wilson Tuckey being kicked out with a few raised voices thrown in?? I tell you what if that qualifies as fireworks than the Australian Parliament has gone very soft indeed. There are no more characters in Parliament, no more knock em down drag em out battles. Everyone is so concerned about maintaining a perfect image that Parliament is now a domain for the painfully bland. Think back to the late 80s and early 90s with the likes of...

  • couldn't these hicks become real estate agents like everyone else?

  • Wow, I wish the US Congress was this exciting. :(

  • lol why the fuck are you watching this if you're American?

  • Boredom and an interest in what happens in other countries.

  • does PBS show congress or senate sessions? the only thing remotely close to question time here i've seen in the states is news hour with im lehrer

  • C-SPAN, look it up

  • Gotta love Australian politics.

  • Speaker: The Member for O'Connor will leave the chamber for 1 hour

The Member for O'Connor will leave without delay.

I name the Member for O'Connor

    ALP: Hear hear!

    lol

  • He should be kicked out permanently. The guys a complete fruitcake! You can tell the speaker HATES him.

  • Umm, did that guy call Sydney a Leprechaun city??

  • If Keating was still around he would have put Tuckey in his place

  • Keating was ALP, Tuckey is a Liberal. Different parties.

  • thats the point

  • Neglect, neglect, neglect!

  • I dont get parliament or how it works (it bores me to death basically) but i do like old people fight over things

  • How can you not be interested in politics?

  • um......its boring

  • Meh, different people, different opinions. Fine by me

  • Great video by the way but maybe someone can answer a question for me? When trouble erupts in the House, why do the cameras always focus on the Speaker and never a glimpse of the trouble maker?? There may not be a reason, just curious is all.

  • That is a good question. A clue to the answer lies in the fact nobody is allowed to bring cameras (or indeed any electronic equipment) into the Chamber when Parliament is sitting. The Press have special permission and passes to bring their cameras into the Chamber.

  • Thanks for that. So there isn't a National broadcaster like the BBC covering every sitting of Parliament? Just individual reporters?

  • Television and radio broadcasts of sittings are broadcast by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, while sittings and official meetings can also be watched live through the Australian Parliament House's official web site

  • @CanberraUser Its actually in the contract, that the TV company have with the Parliament. You you watch the documentary, about filiming in the House of Commons, they especially highlight that area of the contract.

  • the member for O'Conner should leave for good.

  • its funny when he says.. the member for dickson lol

  • I don't envy the speaker. unfortunately I think if i was in his position i'd end up telling people to shut the fuck up

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • One can expect that from somebody from NI!

  • NI...Do you mean Ulster? Thats what its proper name is. Originates from the Plantation of Ulster. But i suppose one would be too uneducated to know such a fact.

  • It is just a quick way to say northern Ireland (I was reffering to the six counties!). I know it is called Ulster. It is one of the 4 provinces of Ireland (our land, not the Brit's) which are Munster (my home province) Leinster, Connaght and Ulster (your one)

  • Congratulations, 6 of the 32 counties make up Ulster. I have family in County Carlow, which I think is in Munster, you may have to correct me there. And I am a Unionist so I shall have to beg to differ with you on ownership of Ulster. I dont wish to enter conflict, we have had so much over the years but being a Unionist I naturally support the rule of the Crown over Ulster, but I am glad the Dail have some say, afterall my family all come from Eire. And its good we have soem say.

  • you can go suck on your guvnor generals tits!

  • Tuckey's the court jester. People aren't laughing with him, but at him. His generation have had their day and younger people are starting to lead. Howard's gone, 70-year-old McCain lost to Obama in the US. Time for Baby Boomers to retire and leave it to Generation X to clean up their mess.

  • Here Hear!

  • Well said!

  • well said!

  • fucking spot on pardon the french, but yes someones had the gumption to say it as it is. Hear Hear Mbantua!

  • Whatever your views on the generational change (which I agree with, btw), it is simply not fair to lump the baby boomers in with such an insidious person as wilson tuckey. the man has all the mannerisms of a dog, except loyalty. howard never stood with him, nor would any modern leader.

  • ship them out on glaciers like the eskimos ey?

  • it's still a democracy numbnuts

  • I know both parties do it when they're in opposition but it does annoy me when opposition insists on divisions they can't win. Labor had the numbers, coalition knew it yet they waste time on a divison, same thing happened in 07 when Tanner was named, Coalition had the numbers but labor insisted on a division anyway, wasting time. If you can't win the vote let it go unless it's a symbolic thing.

  • whats the name of the girl in red?

  • forget her name but shes the minister for sports and recreation

  • don't forget the minister for youth

  • NO, that's not the sports minster Kate Ellis... she sits on the front bench. I think it's Kate Collins member for Bass in Tasmania. In addition, this guy is the best speaker in a very long time. You notice that the government places it's best looking members behind the boxes so that they;re seen on the coverage.

  • I agree with the fact that this is the best speaker in a long time, he's laid back and doesn't mind a laugh.

  • Julie collins, not kate ellis, minister for sport. Just a backbencher from my electorate in Tasmania.
