If God had wanted us in outer space, we'd be born with rockets on our butts, so don't be surprised if all you "space worshippers" end up burnin' in hell. The Bible is the only explanation anybody needs, so believe you me that on that glorious day in 2012 when Sarah Palin is finally elected our president, NASA will be dismantled and all this science nonsense will be outlawed! GO SARAH! YEE-HAW!!!
I haven't read the book. Can anyone tell me what he said about space radiation? There is a lot of info on the internet about space radiation that goes against what NASA tells us.
All the stuff I've found about space radiation is in post #23 of this thread below.
Nasa always under estimates lethality of radiation and you gotta assume a few astronauts did die of cancer along the way. In his novel, ahad said you need 1 km of thickness for this ark : not only for radiation shielding but to have the thing guard you from the bits of oort cloud fluff as well. Check it out. it's a decent concept
well done...the stars await.. but first mankind must learn to live without violence & hatred or we won't be welcomed into the family of space faring civilisations.
Abdul Ahad was the first in scientific history to envision a New Earth at Alpha Centauri and prophecize that we could reach it in 50000 yrs after navigating the oort comets that could bust your ass unless you dodge them safely
Me julie fancies him, but me still have maximum respect for va fings he does. So is you gonna fill me in on all his work Isabellasta? (btw, you is well fit =)
An Annular Solar Eclipse is visible beginning in the South Atlantic at 12:06 a.m., and tracks south of the African continent, across the southern Indian Ocean, the Cocos Islands, southern Sumatra, western Java, and Borneo, and ends in the Philippines at 3:52 a.m..
The Iridium 81 satellite will flare to -5 magnitude around 6:12 p.m. at azimuth 180° (due south) and altitude 37°, in Eridanus, during astronomical twilight.
You could not keep on building bigger and bigger boats in this way indefinitely however; ultimately an ocean sailing vessel will be constrained to some maximum physical size/mass.
In deducing the size of this interstellar ark, for sailing the interstellar ocean, Ahad has optimised a number of different variables to arrive at his net mass of 1.8x10^14 kg. The rationale and criteria for doing this are spelt out in elaborate detail in his myspace blog 'A New Earth plausibly Aawaits our discovery'.
If you're sailing a canal, you need a vessel the size of a barge. If you're sailing a river, a river boat is best; if you're sailing an ocean, you need an ocean liner. There is a natural progression in size going upwards.
Continuity of the human species? Modern science has shown that everything is connected. One of the worlds leading experts in polygraphs, Cleve Backster, has even shown the connection between humans with plants and even cells under the most rigorous scientific standards.
This ark and the means of populating it gives a defacto method of reaching the next system - unless humans develop wings that is
At the tender age of just 15, Ahad formulated an algorithm for accurately computing planetary positions over a timescale of up to 300 years (1800 to 2100 AD). That is being used today, all over the world, by astrologers and horoscope makers in such far-off lands as India and China

Roberto has a point. All so well for guys like him to sail off into the black yonder, him in his private lil luxury spaceship. Sci-fi authors who demand respect also do things for humanity and a planet scourged with economic meltdown and global warming. What great deeds should we remember them all for?
Fucking SHIT HOT sci-fi! Why can't his stuff be promoted rather than all the petty self-important wanna-be-celebrity attention whores that are promoted week after week? Bitches...ahad rullllsssss....
A great achievement for Abdul Ahad. He invented the 'Ahad's Spehere', as well as a blue-print for a starship that could be launched in a few hundred years time. The Quran states that Man will one day penetrate the deepest regions of the heavens. As a human race, we are still hundreds of years behind the Quran, but if it says we can travel through deep space, then we have to find ways to realise this goal. I hope that the Ark is used as a blue-print to build on. Lets set for the stars!
The anti- ahad squad - his harshest critics may well argue this. So he designed a tatonka sized ark and envisioned the New Earth that plausibly awaits a future Earth society for colonization. BFD, somebody had to be first so it was him. He formulated the Ahad's constant a dimensionless quanity. Again big fucking deal
So here we have our Ahad launched into similar preoccupations. The "hard science" is his design of the Ark and the blueprint of his voyage - which are unshakable truths founded on astronomy, geometry and integrity of the natural world.
His esoteric beliefs would be what he predicts will happen to a small town colony of people going beyond his sphere of the sun's light dominion.
Separate the wheat from the chaffe, the science from mysticism, fact from speculation. Kepler is best known for his three laws of planetary motion. The science. The esoteric areas of his work relate to astrology; his Musica universalis and five solids preoccupation were the pseudoscience elements.
In Harmonices Mundi, 1619, Johannes Kepler was convinced "that the geometrical things have provided the Creator with the model for decorating the whole world." In Harmony, he attempted to explain the proportions of the natural world — particularly the astronomical and astrological aspects — in terms of music.
This ark theory seems to be as much in the vein of esotericism as that prior work

If you read around the net, you'll find Ahad wrote this in one paper --
"No science authority on this planet has yet drafted a detailed blueprint for any manned interstellar missions" making his the first.
that puts this design into uncharted territory of OR --original research.

Don't miss this occultation guys:
Epsilon (ε) Geminorum (Mebsuta, 3.1m) disappears behind the Moon (99.1% illuminated) around 4:52 a.m. (near Oceanus Procellarum, "Ocean of Storms", and Aristarchus).
Epsilon (ε) Geminorum (Mebsuta, 3.1m) reappears from behind the Moon (99.2% illuminated) around 5:26 a.m. (near flooded dark crater Endymion).
