guys... i'm planning to buy this set but i have two questions about it:

1. does the amp have distortion or the guy uses a pedal?

2. does the guitar come with the round blue sticker on it or its just for the video?

@rockonbogdan 1, i don't know, yea the guitar comes with the sticker which easily comes off. I just got this same setup in blue and it's actually pretty sweet. It's my first guitar so I'm new to everything. but overall it's pretty nice for a beginner

I have the Gdec jr. It is very simple to operate. Very straight forward. The speaker is an 8 inch. Amp I believe is made in Mylasia. Very cool little amp. Three knobs Volume Gain and Contour/tone. I dont have the package. The amp came from Musicians Friend for $149.00 Big sound in a little package.

@retroguy02 you can only tell by the headstock. The affinity has a large 60's headstock but the standard has a slimmer headstock idk which year:)

It depends on what style of music you're playing. If you want rock (ozzy, acdc) I would suggest a two humbucker pickup guitar, but if you want to play light stuff (Jack Johnson, John mayer) I would suggest this specific guitar. It comes with all the effects you need.

this is amazing makes great gifts for your children or grand children, I have the original G-DEC its amazing, It helped me improvise blues licks i never thought i could. I use it with an original Fender 72 Telecaster Deluxe. what wonderful tone it can make

this can be the case with cheaper guitars, or (pardon the expression) knockoffs..such as squire or epiphone...they are sort of hit and miss. whereas their counterparts by fender and gibson have much better quality control

Yeah, gotta agree with ya. Today's death metal/thrash guitar sound is way too distorted. It sounds more like a chainsaw now.

It loses it's tone at a certain point.

Distortion IS NOISE! Too much noise and....well, you get it.

i have a g dec junior and can't believe what a fantastic amp it is for the money , sure you can get wasp in a bottle sounds out of it but with careful setting you can great some terific tone out of it . just a great practice amp

Hey im wondering whether this guitar and amp set could make a Squier Affinity Telecaster kind of sound. I love a bit of Radiohead, Telecaster style music but also a bit of distorted Metallica and im wondering this HSS or SSS Squier Strat. I think this amp is amazing and the guitar sounds great but my mate seems to think its just the guy playing it and having amazing skills and set up? Someone help me =(

this just has a humbucker (the bridge pickup) which will give you more of your rock and roll sound and the sss has just a single coil for the bridge pick up which will give you your traditional "fender" sound so it depends on what sound you like hard rock and roll or clean bluesy type stuff

Im thinking about the G-dec too. The hotrod & tweed amp settings sound pretty warm for solid state, so I may get it instead of a small tube amp.
