@NatGroen Thanks - it is a JVC Everio AVCHD full HD CMOS model GZ-HM200BU - It was a consumer reports best buy recommendation. It is considered middle of the road consumer grade. Consumer Reports was correct, it's been a good camera. Night shots are grainy, and sound is only fair, but that is my only complaint.
20x HD optical zoom, not bad for the time when it was purchased one year ago.
