I just came back from Bermuda and I can tell you that it's worth going there just to experience this. I was abit apprehensive for the first 30 seconds but quickly adjusted as the beauty and fish are such a distraction. The only bad side was that the time went by so fast. I could have stayed on the bottom for hours. Captain Hartley was kind and particular about the way he wanted things done. There were no water pressure issues for me and i'm 55. Also pay the extra $ for your underwater pictures
@Twoosy They didn't inform you about squeezes, reverse squeezes, and not to dive if your drunk or on sinus medication before hand, (equalizing the pressure in your head.)? I was wondering if this was some douche nozzle operation that rewards people for not bothering to learn anything about diving or the ocean. Considering that a lot of PADI certified open water divers thrash the wild life down there and they are required to pass a training course says a lot.
@cha5 I was there and I'm pretty sure he's touching a muscle at 1:55 to make it close its shell and not coral. That's why he's pointing to his bicep. To tell the tourists it's a muscle. The guy seemed pretty respectful of the ecosystem to me.
@RevJim1313 Sorry my bad, I guess I'm a little oversensitive to things like that.
I just still remember a TV special I saw recently with some helmet divers who were at a reef talking about the beauty of nature through their intercoms, and at the same time they were grabbing onto the corral reef with their hands and smiling while going on about the wonders of nature.
@cha5 I hear you. I think this guy cares about stuff like that though. I mean his whole life is the ocean, diving and coral reefs. He was a pretty considerate if you ask me about not harming anything.
do you just stand around in a group and wait for them to come for you or can you walk around and see what's out there because I don't think I would enjoy it as much if you have to just stand there
Why should u come closer to the fish with your helmet than with scuba diving? The helmet releases much more air, and the fish don't like bubbles. U come close to the fish ONLY because you feed them. Not because of the helmet! And in my opinion its quite stupid to feed free living fishes. Get a aquarium for your helmet instead!
Greg...what fun we had on our helmet dive with you almost 2 years ago...we'll be back and August and have an entire group to bring with us...CAN'T WAIT

I tried this in Cabo San Lucas; came away with an earache lasting two weeks. Won't ever do that again. Sorry, my $.02.

1:55-1:56 Grrr! Looking at a coral reef is fine but please don't touch it like that with your fingers, it's murder on coral reefs in the long run.

Did this a week ago, amasing, although they have lost the Angel and puffer to Hurrican Bill which is really sad

@crawfordej The angelfish and puffer-fish were there this week. Don't know if they were the same ones that returned or not.
