Everyone who horse back rides wants a horse of their own and to tell the truth, it does cost ALOT of money. Plus i understand girls need horses in their life, just you don't have to own one. Look up what leasing a horse is and try it some time. I know t's not the true same, but it's some what like owning your own hrose, an it's cheaper :)
Many people don't think of this in the parent's point of view. It costs A LOT of money to have a horse. Last year, it cost my parents a little over 8 THOUSAND dollars for my one horse. I know I am extremely lucky to have parents that are willing to pay that much each year, but a lot of parent's aren't. Before I got my horse, I was asking them every waking second for one (I've been riding for 15 years). They said no, and it wasn't until I sat down and added everything up that I understood why.

I've been riding for 10 yrs. And that's how old I am... I ride western but I love to jump (western) barrel race, and bend poles. I ride an appy at lessons her name is Easy. My friends mom was talking to my mom and My mom said "She would think about getting Easy" We can't pay to keep one at the house but Just to get her then board her at the barn. My parent's said "When Your dad gets a better job we will try" and He has a good job coming in a couple months. Please cross your fingers for me! =-)

it is hard to go out as im 14 now and my social life is a bit afected by that.. Pony Club takes up Saturdays, Shows on Sundays, and i ride after school during the week.

We built a fence and bought hay and grain. After all that, they changed their minds... I have all this brand new tack in my basement yet. I refuse to sell it because I HAVE to own a horse one day. I'm 18 now and working, but I don't make much. I'll never give up though!

Not that it isn't fun, but I really wish I could have a horse to love. And I mean, really love. I would do anything. But atlas, for now, horse's are just too expensive. :(
the horses at my farm are priced high but i train them... and they turn out to be almost world champs... one of them is state champion in the u.s. Never give up hope!!!

@horselovers1998 I know how you feel! When I was younger, my parents decided they were going to buy me a horse. They took me to buy all my tack and everything I needed. We built a fence and bought hay and grain. After all that, they changed their minds... I have all this brand new tack in my basement yet. I refuse to sell it because I HAVE to own a horse one day. I'm 18 now and working, but I don't make much. I'll never give up though!

i got a horse when i was little and do ya wanna no how well i cried every night and didnt do as i was told and eventaully my mum and dad gave in and sed what will stop this and i sed gimmi a pony so they did !! xxxtry it

u kno thats very bratty u didnt even try. lots of ppl try harder than u did and dont get a horse. all u had to do is cry? i mean im not trying to get in a fight but horses r the best they deserve to go to the ppl who have worked to g et it and u harly tried

well what i did was tell him how it would make me who i am. right now i realize how big it is to have one and i dont regret getting my horse. hes changed my life. so say some stuff about how it would be your future and you would give your all to have one, (:

well you shouldnt ever give up. if you love them enough and your parents see it you have a chance at anything. my brother taught me dream big or go home. i dreamt so big that my dream came true. so never give up!

i feel the same
i've been riding 8 years now.
and im constantly at the farm and work there,
i've rode so many through the years, they are always perfect for me but get sold on, because they have too much spirit for a riding school :(
my mum always says maybe.. then goes back on her word!!! :@ :(

you could find a place to board? A farm SOMEWHERE!? because I feel your pain. I don't have a horse of my own. I have just been riding my Trainer's horses for almost 8 years now. Not that it isn't fun, but I really wish I could have a horse to love. And I mean, really love. I would do anything. But atlas, for now, horse's are just too expensive. :(

the horses at my farm are priced high but i train them... and they turn out to be almost world champs... one of them is state champion in the u.s. Never give up hope!!!

you can find a barn... thats one way than you can use their horses and search while you are riding.. thats what i have been doing..

i have tried givin up but my heart wont let me. i have been throo so0o0o0o0o0o much. I wish it would just end and have a friend 4 life. my parents say they "cant afford it" but my mom is getting and a new caR and diaomond ring for christmas. as like many i have spent almost every night cryin and wenever i go 2 the barn it makes me mad bcaus i see all the girls w/ their horses. i no this christmas will be the worst becuz my parents said i could have a horse 2 months later no. i pray so hard.

i feel the same way... but when i see someone riding a horse that is beautiful... omg i get so jealous and whenever i see someone ride my lesson horse i get mad cause they are doing everything wrong and he looks so unhappy and scared... but when i ride him hes my everything... but hes 10,000 dollars ... so im getting a different horse
