ilizarov frame pin removal sheffield hospital

Im day 6 after having my frame fitted, and the first few days were so so painful! Lots of courage and pushing my self with physio has made a huge difference! They are a great bunch at Sheffield, although I wonder if the pin nurse Maria knows how famous she is?! All over YouTube! Lol

I cant belive you didnt take the gas and air!! I have just had my Ilivarov fitted two weeks ago after a week in Bassetlaw and three weeks in Sheffield Northern General. Four operations an external fixator and then three ring Ilizarov fitted! I have one compound fracture on my tib which came through my skin! I also have six fractures at the top of mt tib in the Plateau area. All caused by a kick from a horse whilst i was mounted! I have to add, i did not fall of and rode back to the lorry!

@MegaLizzie1980 I dont feel much pain so had no gas or air, also got out off hospital next day afer having frame fitted as I was coping with the pain ok. Advice to give you is try and do all the goals Simone Roysten sets you, I was walkin and going to physio with mine on as soon as safe and possible to do so. Your injurys sound bad... thats why you've got a llivarov fitted. Hope you get it removed before winter, the cold gets in your bones through the metal, so keep wrapped up, chris

i gt my removed without gas and i had 4 with balls on them which are the most painful ones when removed if you dont like pain lol take the gas

wait what, my friend just said in a message shes at the hospital getting pins taken out. Ive been googling this all day and cant figure out what for. How did you live life haveing 2+ inches of metal pins sticking out of you? What is this for!? I dont understand

@ESPPsycho this was the last part of removal, had the outer rings on which the wires went to, they undid everything with spanners, then chopped one side of wires off and pulled on other side.
