I agree with her video. If people knew the history of these organizations, they would know that a majority of the meetings and conferences were taking place in a CHURCH. Methodist churches at that. The church is also were the civil rights meetings were held, so do they consider African American freedom "satanic or ungodly too?" NO. Nothing of God would be a secret either. Secrets are used as instruments of deceit, beguile and manipulation. As a Christian to claim that having secrets between individuals is to help build a comradery of brotherhood or sisterhood is to claim that the teachings of God and Jesus aren't enough to build those same kind of relationships. In other words it's bullcrap. It is much easier to hide the non-christian ideals of an organization (Freemasons/S&B) when you can hide behind a veil of "secrets".

The only suggestion I would give to someone who is confused, about why Greek Societies & their customs/rituals are not congruent with the teachings of Christianity, is to do your own research.You can look at the official materials provided by the greeks for contrast but you won't find anything negative about their own group in material written for the purpose of recruitment. I suggest a PDF called BGLO Rituals vs. The Holy Bible. You don't have to agree with all of it but it will get you started
I personally have read the secret pledges/oaths of Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Phi and several others. They all contain the form and descriptive nature of the same secret oaths used in the Free Masons, societies based on Roman Mithraic Mysteries and the Ancient Mystery School religions. They all refer to an unnamed "creator". My __ said she was always uncomfortable reciting that part because she knew pledges should only be made to God and God alone. She was smart.
All you have to do is research the real history of Greek societies & their relationship to the Free Masons/Eastern Star societies & their influence from the teachings of the "Ancient Mystery Schools". Research it without bias or fear. Particular look at the similarity in the rituals between all three. Anyone who does this with an open heart, mind and spirit will see very clearly what God needs us to see. You can still have "sisterhood" and "brotherhood" without rituals, greek idols etc.
There may not be "one reason" why u joined.U may have joined 4 sisterhood etc but it does not take away from what the group really stands for. For instance, a lot of fatherless young boys join gangs for "different" reasons as well, including the brotherhood aspect and connections.However, it still does not take away from the fact that gangs are dangerous and deadly.

The fact that others do idolize and worship these groups has a lot to do with their immaturity or lack of real world experience. Children only know what others teach them about a certain topic which makes it hard for a young impressionable person to set their organizations aside when the time comes ie. after college.... and start be about the business of going to the next level of their lives.

I dont know about the religion part, but as a person that works in the community and is constantly looking for volunteers I look to these orgs for people and if it's not a one day event they dont want to do anything, honestly they barely want to do the one day events. I just get offended when these orgs play checkers with old folks once a month or make sandwiches for homeless folks for ONE day and call it service. The Bible warns us in Mathew 5:34-38 that we should not swear (that include oaths and pledges) Jesus says the yes should be your yes and your no should be your no. You can not say you are a Christian and yet you refuse to believe the WORD.
I am a former Greek myself & I feel "privacy" and "loyalty" are just euphemisms for "secret society" and "idolizing". We strive to make our community better, to mentor young ladies in middle and high school. We have members that have been dedicated to service 75, 50, 25 years. What you choose to put first becomes your god! There are many faiths that belong to our organization.

The only problem with the system of fraternities and sororities in America is that they are based on rituals and traditions of whites. So? Therefore, you are imitating rituals and traditions that are about destroying black folks. That is the "demonic" part. And it is why they suffer the same problem the rest of black folks face.
The problem they face is that in reality they don't own or control anything within the social or economic fabric of American life. White fraternities and sororities are implicitly founded on white advancement within a system of white supremacy which means to own and control things. It is passing the torch from the ancestors (settlers, pioneers, slave owners, rapists, etc) to a new generation. Black folks have no torch to pass in that system and therefore adopting their rituals is silly.
The other problem they face is that they are worshiping or upholding the Greeks as the ideal in terms of historic, symbolic and ritualistic traditions being the foundation of society. Sorry. Africa is the foundation of all social organization and the concept of brotherhoods and sisterhoods. Great video! I am also a member of a greek letter sorority and in college I served as my chapter's rush president for a few years. We had a wonderful time and I would not trade the experience for anything. It has helped make me the woman I am today. But I have also had to endure hateful comments from friends and family members who did not understand my decision to join a sorority. People have to understand that these organizations are a part of your life but they are not your entire life.

I have experienced Greek life as well as its a known fact that during the "process" of which you are a member people will study more and do things that are no of the Christian belief. Everybody says they are Christians and there who says that and go to hell. Now that is the true from the word of God as is work and everything else that we put on a plato before the Lord.
i think the main reason people denounce letters is not because of the things you see on the outside. of course the casket looks good on the outside but there were things on the inside. I.E. rituals that are pertaining to not serving God.
When these guys get busted for there abomiable acts...people just say..see Christians aren`t good people! But the trick is that most of the Pastors acutally belong to Greek Orginazations that are destoying God`s people right in the chruch!! They still till this day will consider themsleves Christians!!!
Why? Because anyone can make that claim, but it doesn`t make you a follower of Christ!! The question is...Can you be a Black Greek and Real follower of Christ?

After reading some of these comments I've noticed of hating because of non positive experiences with Greek life. I'm a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. which promotes:service, scholarship, and sisterhood. I know for me on my campus all the greeks of all races did many positive things for the campus and community. Do people even realize that many of the most influential blacks that have a very proud christian values belong to many of the greek organizations you're trying to bash!!!

1.You don't have to be in a sorority to be accepted into the McNair program. You just have to be a minority or low income...2. I really love the earrings! I agree with everything that you said, that joining a black greek sorority or fraternity that it should be the reasons to enrich and benefit your life and make you a better person. These negative comments are all the same, judging, hating it's all the same. Every nurse or medical assistant and military person takes an oath, that doesn't make them evil. There are other things you can worship that will make God angry to be real about it. Cigaretts, money, beauty or vanity and sex. We all need to clean our own house 1st.

It's amazing how we'll glorify the things of this world more than the things of God. God is a jealous God and he will have no other God before him. It shouldn't take one to join a sorority to help a community. As for networking that's all good, but I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. God gives us the know how and what to do, not man or even a sorority.

If you don't understand the idea of being Greek and being Christian, then do not join. There is no reason to worry yourself over others. If there are people who are weak minded enough to worship an organization, then THEY have a problem. There are several pastors whose congregations you may be sitting in who are members of Black Greek letter organizations.
I know where my priorities lie and I am a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi and MOST importantly a Christian.

I agree with her video. If people knew the history of these organizations, they would know that a majority of the meetings and conferences were taking place in a CHURCH. Methodist churches at that. The church is also were the civil rights meetings were held, so do they consider African American freedom "satanic or ungodly too?" NO. Nothing of God would be a secret either. Secrets are used as instruments of deceit, beguile and manipulation. As a Christian to claim that having secrets between individuals is to help build a comradery of brotherhood or sisterhood is to claim that the teachings of God and Jesus aren't enough to build those same kind of relationships. In other words it's bullcrap. It is much easier to hide the non-christian ideals of an organization (Freemasons/S&B) when you can hide behind a veil of "secrets".

Recruiters say "Research any organization before you join it including ours." then proceed to give you a hand book with nothing but propaganda on the sorority/fraternity history and creation "That doesn't mention it's connection to Freemasons and the ancient mystery schools" and all of the great things they do and have done and the great people who have joined the group. The only suggestion I would give to someone who is confused, about why Greek Societies & their customs/rituals are not congruent with the teachings of Christianity, is to do your own research.You can look at the official materials provided by the greeks for contrast but you won't find anything negative about their own group in material written for the purpose of recruitment. I suggest a PDF called BGLO Rituals vs. The Holy Bible. You don't have to agree with all of it but it will get you started

I personally have read the secret pledges/oaths of Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Phi and several others. They all contain the form and descriptive nature of the same secret oaths used in the Free Masons, societies based on Roman Mithraic Mysteries and the Ancient Mystery School religions. They all refer to an unnamed "creator". My __ said she was always uncomfortable reciting that part because she knew pledges should only be made to God and God alone. She was smart.

All you have to do is research the real history of Greek societies & their relationship to the Free Masons/Eastern Star societies & their influence from the teachings of the "Ancient Mystery Schools". Research it without bias or fear. Particular look at the similarity in the rituals between all three. Anyone who does this with an open heart, mind and spirit will see very clearly what God needs us to see. You can still have "sisterhood" and "brotherhood" without rituals, greek idols etc.

There may not be "one reason" why u joined.U may have joined 4 sisterhood etc but it does not take away from what the group really stands for. For instance, a lot of fatherless young boys join gangs for "different" reasons as well, including the brotherhood aspect and connections.However, it still does not take away from the fact that gangs are dangerous and deadly.
BTW, u may not have explicitly pledged to the devil, but there are many ways they coerce u into it. If explicit; many won't join.

The fact that others do idolize and worship these groups has a lot to do with their immaturity or lack of real world experience. Children only know what others teach them about a certain topic which makes it hard for a young impressionable person to set their organizations aside when the time comes ie. after college.... and start be about the business of going to the next level of their lives.

I dont know about the religion part, but as a person that works in the community and is constantly looking for volunteers I look to these orgs for people and if it's not a one day event they dont want to do anything, honestly they barely want to do the one day events. I just get offended when these orgs play checkers with old folks once a month or make sandwiches for homeless folks for ONE day and call it service. If they say they do service they need to be about it, not just look the part

The bottom line is is pledged yourself to an organization. The Bible warns us in Mathew 5:34-38 that we should not swear (that include oaths and pledges) Jesus says the yes should be your yes and your no should be your no. You can not say you are a Christian and yet you refuse to believe the WORD.

I am a former Greek myself & I feel "privacy" and "loyalty" are just euphemisms for "secret society" and "idolizing". Of course you feel you didn't "sign up for satanic worship" because that's how the devil works. He first seeks to deceive. Those who are denouncing are simply sharing their point of view, just as you are.

We strive to make our community better, to mentor young ladies in middle and high school. We have members that have been dedicated to service 75, 50, 25 years. What you choose to put first becomes your god! There are many faiths that belong to our organization.

One thing I forgot to mention below is that all ancient African sisterhoods and brotherhoods in the history is upholding rituals and traditions as men and women as part of a shared system of culture that the entire community participated in. It was used to promote the roles and responsibilities of men and women in providing the foundation for the family as the basic unit or trinity. It maintains cohesion through tradition and ritual. The problem they face is that in reality they don't own or control anything within the social or economic fabric of American life. White fraternities and sororities are implicitly founded on white advancement within a system of white supremacy which means to own and control things. It is passing the torch from the ancestors (settlers, pioneers, slave owners, rapists, etc) to a new generation. Black folks have no torch to pass in that system and therefore adopting their rituals is silly.

Africa is the foundation of all social organization and the concept of brotherhoods and sisterhoods. Great video! I am also a member of a greek letter sorority and in college I served as my chapter's rush president for a few years. We had a wonderful time and I would not trade the experience for anything. It has helped make me the woman I am today. But I have also had to endure hateful comments from friends and family members who did not understand my decision to join a sorority. People have to understand that these organizations are a part of your life but they are not your entire life.

After reading some of these comments I've noticed of hating because of non positive experiences with Greek life. I'm a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. which promotes:service, scholarship, and sisterhood. I know for me on my campus all the greeks of all races did many positive things for the campus and community. Do people even realize that many of the most influential blacks that have a very proud christian values belong to many of the greek organizations you're trying to bash!!!

No one was talking stuff when the Alpha Phi Alpha pushed and raised money from their own brothers to honor their brother Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Some of the Divine 9 give God "honor and thanks" for when they come together. I've found more Christians that are talking trash about another Christian without personally knowing them isn't following God's rules. God will be the judge of man!!! 1.You don't have to be in a sorority to be accepted into the McNair program. You just have to be a minority or low income...2. Ppl wouldn't just hear "the bad" if sororities and fraternities were transparent from the jump. 3. I'm sure ppl don't come to organizations because they need something to worship o.O I believe they are DECEIVED and this is why they realize this and denounce otherwise they would be happy they found something to worship...

i think its good that ppl are coming out and taking it to social media. who wants to be blind going into something like this? when a person makes their decision to pursue something, they should be able to gather up all the facts they need to make a decision. I feel like these organizations are deceptive and don't want people to know what they're getting themselves into until they've already gotten into it. People should be able to get the pros AND the cons about this particular decision...

I really love the earrings! I agree with everything that you said, that joining a black greek sorority or fraternity that it should be the reasons to enrich and benefit your life and make you a better person. I am interested in joining AKA because my sister is one and growing up watching her doing volunteering work and keeping a strong bond with her line sisters, it makes me want to experience the same.

That was very well said. I'm not a Greek and probably won't be at this point but I love the little I know about AKA. I know people who see everything other than church as satanic. These negative comments are all the same, judging, hating it's all the same. Every nurse or medical assistant and military person takes an oath, that doesn't make them evil. Being a member of a Fraternity I almost see these people that are saying so much about what they dont know to just plain ignorant......its ok to be saved and covered with the blood of Jesus Christ, but to see everything evil about things they don't know or miss perceived just proves their ignorance.

It's amazing how we'll glorify the things of this world more than the things of God. God is a jealous God and he will have no other God before him. It shouldn't take one to join a sorority to help a community. As for networking that's all good, but I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. God gives us the know how and what to do, not man or even a sorority.

I like this video... I feel like you are real..Yes Sororities and Fraternities may have good and bad aspects, but EVERYONE is different. So your experiences are different from others.. Sororities and Fraternities are also great NETWORKING possibilities and may better a person's career after college!!! I know many people who are greeks and they dont worship they devil nor do they idolize anything or anyone BUT God.. They are just great Christian people!!

If you don't understand the idea of being Greek and being Christian, then do not join. There is no reason to worry yourself over others. If there are people who are weak minded enough to worship an organization, then THEY have a problem. There are several pastors whose congregations you may be sitting in who are members of Black Greek letter organizations.
I know where my priorities lie and I am a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi and MOST importantly a Christian.

I think you should refer yourself to "RebekkahMilan" videos and it may change your view on sororities and fraternities. I am a student at The Fort Valley State University and her videos are some what changing my thoughts on attempting to join a fraternity.

I would think with all the information out their concerning the origins of the Asiatic Black Man that you so called educated ones would understand the foolishness of naming yourselves after greek letters. Khemitic people were the people that the greeks first learned from. Even the knowledge of the pharonic orders. Historians understand that the greeks learned their knowledge from the egyptians.
