  • Very good!

  • @fredhenrique .. hi .. =) .. thanks for watching the vid and leaving a comment! that's awesome! i'm glad you like them! i think they are DELICIOUS! .. =D .. hugs, katie

  • I have eaten a lot of papaya in India, and I always thought it tastes faintly like ladies' underwears...not totally in a bad way, but not in a great way, either, haha. Maybe that's what the store clerk was thinking?

  • @hultonclint ... haha ... ladies underwear? what an awful image! yes, she must have been thinking of the traditional kind and not this type. i've never eaten a traditional papaya but i will ... =D i bet fresh papaya in india must taste a lot better than the papaya on our store shelves! this, of course, doesn't give me much hope for my next papaya adventure! LOL ... ;D

  • I LOVE New Fruit Day!!!! That looked sooo good. Thanks for sharing.

  • @rickonearth ... hahaha ... awesome! it really was super delicious and i totally recommend you giving it a try rick! ... =D

  • The Julia Child's of Fruit!

Way to go Katie. Love your educational videos.

  • @jamiegreuber ... hahaha ... you are soo funny jamie! glad you like these vids! ... =D

  • Very interesting about some people using the seeds like pepper. It looked tasty. Thanks for sharing Katie

  • @Fightdog ... so, i tried one of the seeds off camera and it was just like biting into a soft pepper corn! amazing! i can totally see why people dry them and use them as a pepper substitute! glad you enjoyed the vid! ... =D

  • Oh, it looks good! Why do these fruits make me think of high end desserts? I could SO picture the starfruit cut up and "plated" with ice cream or some kind of crumbly thing. And I thought the same thing about the papaya, on a plate with frozen yogurt- I think I'm secretly longing to become a chef- or longing to eat a lot of desserts! haha, I caught that "don't eat the flesh" thing too. I thought "what's left?" Great video. I admire your editing skills- with the titles and songs, nice job :O)

  • @warmgulfwind ... hahaha, you are so cute steve! love your comments!! i think fruit and high-end deserts totally go together! yummy!! ... =D

  • My company was supposed to pick up a load of Brazillian papayas, but they got held up due to pests, aka: bugs. Lucky for you, we don't ship to Canada.

They start off green, just like any other. Lots of seeds. If it's soft, it's ready. As they ripen, they get a mottled color between green and yellow. Glad you liked it. Mr Produce knows all.

  • @Kikbxer213 ... oh, very interesting chris. the store here never has any little green ones. and these little yellow ones are as hard as rocks! LOL ... that's why i say there is no way to know if they are ripe! ... =( ... ours must be a slightly different variation from the kind you guys see. i'm sure that there must be a number of different varieties. i'll have to keep my eye out for little green ones! ... =D

  • I've never even had a traditional papaya. I don't like very many fruits so I'm a little weird when it comes to trying new ones lol.

  • @Smartass8504 ... hi chad, not much for fruit, eh? well, it's not everyone's cup of tea! LOL ... i've always loved tropical fruit. i'm not much for oranges and apples though ... =( ... i really enjoy trying new stuff too! it can be a lot of fun cause you never know what it'll taste like! ~hehehe~ ... ;D

  • KATIE = BEAUTIFUL!

  • @120togo ... oh dusty! what a sweet thing to write!! you are wonderful! thank YOU!!

  • Fun to learn about the Golden Brazilian Papaya & see you try it for the first time.. I'm still keeping my eyes open for the starfruit, but I'll keep my eye open for this, too. Great job with the vid, and I enjoyed your cute hair flip at 1:45 .:) BTW, you said not to "eat the flesh" at one point, though you did...but you looked like you were thinking of something else at that moment...? Dunno. (doesn't matter cause you're so cute). hugs -Jim

  • @CombatOasis ... hi jim! you are right, i did say flesh but i meant 'skin'. only, youtube is acting funny right now and i can't use annotations to correct it! ... =( ... *sigh* ... oh, i hope you find both at some point! ... =D ... hahaha, thanks for the cute comment. just so you know ... our little surprise will be ready tonight. i'm uploading it to moviemaker right now, will edit it and then upload it here! ... =D yeah!

  • Never seen a golden papaya before! Are they anything like regular papaya, taste wise? I'm still trying to track down a star fruit, lol!

  • @royalschwarz ... oh jason, i have no idea because i've never had a traditional one before! i saw them in the store but didn't buy one cause they are pretty big and i hate to waste food if i don't like it! LOL ... but, since i enjoyed this golden one so much, i'm all pumped to try the traditonal one now! so, maybe it'll be in my next friut vid ... =D

  • You, the fruit lady??? Nah! Can't be, lol! You'll have to try it sometime..it goes great with pineapple and mango...making my mouth water just thinking about it, lol!!

  • @royalschwarz ... hahaha ... i definitely will! ... =D

  • OMG I see my card!! :) Okay I am just going to say it, I hate the starfruit..lol..it just seems to have no taste for me..the dragonfruit is okay...umm all my utensils have a fruity edge..lol...I will try the papaya

  • @THEROBBIEKSHOW ... your card is sooooo pretty kent! i just love it!! ... it's fine that you don't like star fruit! LOL ... you don't have to follow the crowd. i don't really like dragon fruit! hahaha! ... your utensils have a fruity edge? ... o_O ... i'm not even going to ask! LOL ... i've never tried a traditional papya so that will be my next vid (maybe!) ... =D

  • hey Katie, I've never tried those, but I've tried the traditional papaya, I don't love papaya, but it's ok and they help with your digestive track and your intestines... Thanks for posting...

  • @julbennes ... hi julissa!!! ... =D ... i've never tried the traditional so i have no way of knowing if they taste the same =( ... guess i will have to give the original a try next time! ... =D

  • @oopspaw the traditional papaya is not bad at all, it's just that the smell can be a little strong for most people, but when they're really ripe, they taste good, and better if you make smoothies... mmmmm

  • @julbennes ... i will definitely give it a try!! i'll remember to let it get really ripe and wont let the smell put me off! ... ;D

  • "Try a new Fruit Day".. or as RobbieK calls it, "Friday night."

It kinda looks like a Big Bird poop.

"Oh, honey.. I don't think you want that." LOL

Aren't you ever afraid that one of these things is going to make you sick?

  • @VlogasaurusFlex ... HAHAHA ... XD ... no, i'm not afraid! it's just fruit! LOL
