As a beginner get a small older bike and use for 1-2 years before moving onto bigger. The Ducati Monster 600/620 are really nice bikes too. The 696/1100 do 0-100 km/h ca 3.5 sec. Crashing hurts like hell and dying prolly sucks :)

A dry clutch is basically a race clutch. It robs no HP from the engine, it can take an absolute beating. Big deal they rattle at standstill but i guess this would upset the average poser who spends more time listening to their bike at idle. When riding with a dry clutch it's a beautiful thing and isn't that what it's all about, the ride? Dry clutches don't worry true riders, it's in fact a benefit to the overall performance of the bike.

Another "spoon-in-the-blender" dry clutch from Ducati. YUK! I was hoping for a wet clutch for the big monster like the little brother 696 received last year. Why upon why is Ducati stuck on dry clutches? To their credit I'm happy that all their new motors (696 and 848) are wet. Maybe they're finally seeing the light. They will never lose a Ducati sale because of a wet clutch but they WILL lose sales because of a dry one. They lost me! Here I come Superduke (eventhough the monster looks better).
