The idea that the US stays in order to maintain a stable government is ignorant & laughable. Is that why they set up the TAL to privatize the entire state or prevent elections until forced to be Sistani or tried to control Iraqi oil. The US invasion has created new terrorists never before involved in terrorism and they are supporting a pro-Iranian fundamentalist party while preventing democracy in Iraq. Do you know ANYTHING about the laws written under TAL & the limits placed Iraqi democracy?

Xenu... its not exactly easy to just let both factions run the government. Ideally that what you would want, just like we have both republican and democrat leaders running this country. Unfortunetly getting those two factions to work together would be harder and more violent than trying to get the KKK and the Black Panthers to work together and run a country. The way i see it... there are two types of anti-war people. the ones like Mr. Hyden who realize the complexity of "just pulling out" and..

But seriously for the most part our government doesnt try to act "evil" or start conspiracies so lay off a little. Because people like you are the reason republicans dont want to leave, they associate anti-war people with you, not the ones who actually know what to do.
Republicans, like Democrats, don't want to leave Iraq because of oil. You should study the proposed oil law and why the Iraqi people are against it. The ISCI and the neo-Baathists are not the only power players in Iraq. Provincial elections would in all probability lead to the victory of the Madhi army which the US and the Iranian/US-backed terrorist group Badr Corp are set on destroying. There are NO good solutions for Iraq But national reconciliation is possible. The neo-Baathists are open to
..discussion & reconciliation (they are not Al-Qaeda) but the ISCI gov has to offer them something in return. I agree the Sadr movement is not much open to negotiating with the neo-Baathists either but they may have to once the US withdraws. The US should arrange for regional players to get together and try to arrange talks but for this to happen the US has to stop supporting one Islamic fundamentalist group & arming factions instead of bring the other groups into talks. Your analogy is off IMO
Furthermore, you should look at the analysis of some of the major US experts on Iraq and look at their withdrawal suggestions. People like Juan Cole. an expert on Iraq and Shia Islam or Marc Lynch, who is an expert on Sunni guerrillas in Iraq. Or Robert Fisk - a journalist not an academic - who has interviewed various Sunni guerrillas leaders. I understand YT is not the best place for long responses but you have not addressed any of my points, rather just used insults.
Almost a million dead Iraqis and 4 million homeless.... I guess that isn't a tragedy for you. Oh, I forgot you only care about American casualties. That is why the Iraqis don't trust you when you say you came to bring the freedom as if you love them. but the truth is you don't give a shit. So why are you there?
Hillary voted in favor of the war. She is part of the problem. She is one of those that plunged the iraqis to hell and caused hundreds of thousands deaths, torture and rape in Iraq. Would she pull the troops? She lacks decision making power and seriously needs a backbone.
He brings up some good points. The wording that is used is what people should be paying attention to very close. How many troops and what type are they talking about when they say bring the troops home.
Hillary is on the senate arms committee which means she is a direct link between the military and the budget.
McCain wants to avenge his failures in vietnam.
this is the year for America to reclaim its independence and vote for truth and justice.

if you vote for hillary or mccain you might as well not vote. I mean if you can only vote for who THEY tell you to vote for isn't that a dictatorship?
Now there's a good reason for voting for Obama or Hillary or McCain: You give the middle finger to oldhacks and his warped idea of "truth and justice".
The sickos here that are bashing Obama are the left wing versions of the NeoCon sickos attacking John McCain. I applaud Obama for pissing off these leftist extremist assholes.
Obomba is a phony. He never says anything. just "we can do better" or repeats the word "change" a hundred thousand times. Ive listened to his speeches and they're all the same. he describes the problem and then says "we can do better" and everyone cheers. You gotta be an idiot not to be able to see through him. truth is he wants a 100,000 more troops. wants to double our military spending. Hes a K street puppet working for wall street
The sickos here that are bashing Obama are the left wing versions of the NeoCon sickos attacking John McCain. I applaud Obama for pissing off these leftist extremist assholes.
Yeah, just act tough by attacking almost meaningless labels instead of dealing with the issue. It is easy to pretend you are above the "extremists". Unfortunately for you, it was extremists who helped progress mankind, not some knee jerk reactionary on the sidelines.
I have been saying this for months. My Dem friends keep telling me the Hill/Obama will take all the troops out. I tell them they are wrong and that they are only hearing want they want. Hill and OB said they would remove troops to preserge levels and that they will ONLY do this in a save manner. In other words the Dems will not remove the troops. They are simply saying what their party wants to hear.
Good to know, that there are still Americans who have the courage to speak the truth, I mean the person in the video. Great video Real news. Keep it real.
Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton will work for the same corrupt forces and will not leave Iraq entirely! They are politicians-they lie to fool you to vote for them when it matters, they are merely puppets for the specials interest groups, lobbyists and corporations! When Democrats and Republicans see that the subjective corporate media 'front-running' candidates are fraud's with no allegiance to American security U.S will be truly free to pursue a path to peace and prosperity!
Hillary won were in Iraq for another 100 years,if i get drafted im going to stand out side Hillary's home and tell her that if i die my last berth would be to dame that lier to hell
Our country's invasion of Iraq as a humanitarian act is dubious at best. Its merits lack the intellectual elusiveness of historical events. At least in the past, the people were beguiled by educated leaders to believe in a cause. It is evident that our Government is made up of self-indulged utilitarians. Probity no longer exist.
Funny....The "Real News" doesn't mention the ONLY person running for President that wants to bring home all the troops ASAP. Ron Paul!! Take a look at who has the most donations from active duty troops of ANY canadite before you talk about supporting the troops!! Vote Ron Paul or else say you don't care what the men and women who are on the ground want.
WE DEFINATELY NEED TO BE TALKING ABOUT WHAT THE US DID TO THE NATIVE AMERICANS!!!! Everything about this country makes sense once you begin studying that. READ DERRICK JENSEN!!!
Why shouldn't we not talk about what we truly did to the Native Americans? In fact, some of the rhetoric used to talk about the "threat" of Native Americans and the role of the United States mirrored what we use to talk about so called "terrorist." The phrases may have become much more politically correct and less racist but it is the same ideology.
In First week of sept 2001, condi was on hot platter to get approval for purchase of huge quantities of Ammunation, including surveillance drones.Army didn't recommend purchase.Than came 911 as gold mine for sale of war gears and promulgation of NWO.
NWO can't be rolled out, only way out is to blame toy-story character "Alqaida".
Alqaida had been talking toy like "ELAMO",Alqaida only talks when tickeled by Bush for very favourable reasons for Bush,is it not?
Oh,but you believe mainstream media?? look at his voting record! he voted against the patriot act! he even tried to get it abolished! he voted to not go to war! he has called for the end to the occupation in iraq!
Some of y'allmight consider taking a third-grade spelling class. And maybe a logic class, too, in a few years after you grow up.
Folks, just because Paul voted against government intervention and spending on so-called racial issues, that does not make him a racist. Get over your socialist expectations that the State is supposed to do everything for you.
The word is spelled "semitic," not "semetic." I don't know what a "semetic" is, but I myself happen to be Jewish, and am voting for RP.
The person below obviously fell asleep during the video.
If Clinton is so great, why did she vote to continue funding the war? Why is she not for gay marriage? Why is she not speaking out against corporate welfare? Why is she not against NAFTA and WTO? Why is she not for impeachment of Bush and Cheney? Why is she not for single payer health insurance and pretending universal is the same thing?
Barak falls in the same category for all these questions as well.
Within the democratic party, Mike Gravel. Obama and Clinton are virtually clones. Given that, it makes sense to vote for Gravel since Obama and Clinton are equally awful.
Besides, it's more likely that he polls low because the media doesn't cover him versus the media not covering him because he polls low. The corporate owned media is keeping him out of the debate because they don't like his views.
Vektor417...I've said it before...and I'll say it again..."Real News" is NOTHING more than more of the matrix. It is NOTHING more than forwarding an agenda. Keep watching and you'll get it.
If Hilarious Rotten gets in office, no telling what she will do, she is a woman.
Old Bill proably is thinking, these stupid people have no idea what they will be getting themselves into with my darling (cough, cough) "B" as President!
I like what he said at the end their with the American Indians. Thats fact is left out of American history on for good reason too. Tehy dont want the American people to know what those stars and stripes really stand for. Thank you Tom Hayden and thank you Real News.
alagogo is obviously an anti-Hilary...I'm not a huge fan, but I'd rather have her than McCain or Huckabee. Well, I'd rather have anyone than McCain. But seriosuly. People don't give Clinton enough credit.
Tom Hayden you should vote for Ron Paul if you want the troops to come home,he alone will get all of our troops home and get us out of entangling alliances and wars. He won't give foreign aid to Isreal or Arab countries. We can't afford it anymore and the war is immoral.
hollisQueens Ron Paul won't stop giving aid to Israel and have Israel not make his life a living hell? Ask George Bush Sr what happened to him when he decided to raise up against Israel.
Maybe this is one of the reasons there is a media blackout on Ron Paul. But I don't understand how a nation is such tremendous debt is supposed to give aid to countries.
that wont be a problem ..one of Hillarys biggest supporters is the maker of 'NoFlow' a birth control pill that stops periods and cramps.*very small print*90%to cause death.
and as for Iraq io have nothing to say exept RP08!! for freedom, protect our civil liberties, hunt terrorits but let NATO-countries citizen have the right to privacy and freedom. That's my opinion
yadsik, your opinion might be logic to you.. but not for most americans.... im canadian, our troops are in afghanistan and they're doing the right job, hunting talibans for their horrible crimes on 911 / 7/7/06 , madrid... what are you thinking.. please remember the victims of these coward acts
Actually n7cav, if it wasn't for white people the middle-east would be in a much wealthier state right now if the USA didn't have their hands in every middle easterner's pockets 'stealing' their oil and exploiting their resourses which would allow them to live in palaces if it where not for western interference.
They are all in bed with the CFR when the Cfr says pull out then we will, unless everyone wakes up to this media controlled voter fraud and demand free elections and surely Ron Paul would win. Until we ask for voter reform this is just a charade
Thank you for posting this & all the lively comments too! Senator Clinton is a coward & proven liar, Why should I believe anything she says>? I have a dream Dr. Ron Paul in 2008! I do not accept I can trade my Liberty for Safety.Main Stream Media, Federal Reserve System, & Defense Contractors are controlled by Israel & Mossad, like Richard Perle, Michael Chertoff, Paul Wolfowitz, & Ari Fleischer. If USA engages Iran, people of USA will suffer consequences. Thanks.
"failure of the media"...you got to be kidding me...it is their job to not attack the military industrial complex...it is their job to pacify and redirect the anger of the anti-war movement...yet still keep spending trillions on the military industrial complex.
they will play with definitions of "troops" in Iraq...peacekeepers is a toatlly different thing we will be told...or moving 40k troops over to Afgan and 60k troops to iran or saudi...combat, contractors, non-combat...THEY ARE LYING....ALL THE CFR candidates want BIG SPENDING, BIG MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX.... WAKE UP MORONS
C'mon, we're not leaving Iraq anytime soon. Everything written in PNACs manifesto is happening. Every candidate left is bought and paid for by the war interests. The only one who isn't in never mentioned.
Ron Paul? The same Ron Paul that wants to eliminate public education? Federal Educational loans and grants for college students? The same Ron Paul who wants to get rid fo the EPA and all environmental protection, the Clean Wanter and Clean Air Acts? The same Ron Paul who wants to eliminate the rights of workers to organize and form unions? The same Ron Paul who used racist and homophobic language in newsletters from his office during the 1980s and 90s. That Ron Paul?
The same Ron Paul who would give us back our income tax and let us decide how to spend it, who would let us fix of education locally and not with giant government bureaucracies that can never answer our concerns locally or effeciently. The same Ron Paul who would decriminalize drugs which would help the ridiculously number of minorities who are in jail for possession of drugs.
FYI geoduck85 I think the Ron Paul said in one of the early debates that he has no problem with unions, because there is nothing in the constitution that warns against unions. And Ron Paul's answer to the environment is property rights, if we enforce property rights then corporations and governments won't be able to polute so easily, they are the ones who do the poluting anyway. Ron Paul is not against any state legislation for the environment but he's against it in Washington
you need to listen to what ron paul says about unions. he says that people have the right to form unions, but that they shouldn't be protected by any special legislation. basically you can form a union, but if your company fires you for doing so, that's there right. and state legislation on the enviornment is not going work. the idea that a counry can function without a centralized goverment is just fantasy. remember the article or confederation?
Mike Gravel has made this exact same point for months now.Only Mike can get us out of Iraq and keep us out of illegal wars for good by giving us the right to vote against war as well as the right to begin voting on everything else. With our elected officials. Turning our opinion polls into legal legislation the congress will have to address by Law! and they can vote against Americas national measures but that will expose that candidate as a man not supportive of Americas will.
They've stated they will only pull out combat troops within 5 years (Clinton) or 18 months (Obama). This will still leave 50,000 to 100,000 Americans in Iraq involved in "counter-insurgency" (mission: deterring democracy, carpet bombing, securing control over Iraqi oil). No American president would allow Iraqis to control their own oil. -- Hayden is too kind to the warmongering Democrats.
False. Hayden is basically wrong here. Go to CNN dot com and watch the debate that aired tonight. Obama will pull out all troops within 16 months; Clinton will pull out "most" troops within a year. The only troops left behind will be to guard the embassy and US diplomats, which even Hayden supports (he says he has no problem with "security guards" in the video).
I suggest you not believe everything a politician says for public consumption. You should read their policy papers. You should put more trust in that (see Democrat's "Foreign Affairs" articles) than lies they tell the electorate. I noticed in the debate Obama's number changed from 18 months to 16 and Hillary's from 5 years to "hopefully" 1 but they meant combat troops. You're being lied to (and it's a rather obvious lie, if you don't mind me saying).
Clinton supported the war aggressively and continues to support it. She's only changed her tone recently in order to win the nomination. Control of oil is a source of intimidation and control over rising economic rivals. WMD was an obvious lie. Hillary knew it and supported the war and continues to do so. As did her husband. It does not get much clearer than that. Obama would be a bit better on the war although he also voted to fund it and removed antiwar speech from his site when was popular.
Found the problem. The first four times I tried to post, I typed CNN'com instead of CNN dot com (with a . instead of a '). If you do that, it doesn't post but gives you no reason why it didn't, so I thought it was completely broken and had to spam the comment section to figure out why. Nice design, YouTube.
ok, then!.

Provincial elections would in all probability lead to the victory of the Madhi army which the US and the Iranian/US-backed terrorist group Badr Corp are set on destroying. There are NO good solutions for Iraq But national reconciliation is possible. The neo-Baathists are open to
Xenu 3 years ago
..discussion & reconciliation (they are not Al-Qaeda) but the ISCI gov has to offer them something in return.
Xenu 3 years ago
Furthermore, you should look at the analysis of some of the major US experts on Iraq and look at their withdrawal suggestions. People like Juan Cole. an expert on Iraq and Shia Islam or Marc Lynch, who is an expert on Sunni guerrillas in Iraq. Or Robert Fisk - a journalist not an academic - who has interviewed various Sunni guerrillas leaders. I understand YT is not the best place for long responses but you have not addressed any of my points, rather just used insults.
Xenu 3 years ago
Almost a million dead Iraqis and 4 million homeless.... I guess that isn't a tragedy for you. Oh, I forgot you only care about American casualties. That is why the Iraqis don't trust you when you say you came to bring the freedom as if you love them. but the truth is you don't give a shit. So why are you there?

Hillary voted in favor of the war. She is part of the problem. She is one of those that plunged the iraqis to hell and caused hundreds of thousands deaths, torture and rape in Iraq. Would she pull the troops? She lacks decision making power and seriously needs a backbone.

You gotta be an idiot not to be able to see through him. truth is he wants a 100,000 more troops. wants to double our military spending. Hes a K street puppet working for wall street

That Ron Paul?
geoduck85 4 years ago
The same Ron Paul who would give us back our income tax and let us decide how to spend it, who would let us fix of education locally and not with giant government bureaucracies that can never answer our concerns locally or effeciently. The same Ron Paul who would decriminalize drugs which would help the ridiculously number of minorities who are in jail for possession of drugs.
HollisQueens 4 years ago 2
Right on! Public education is notorious for producing lowly educated people (in general).
SwobyJ 4 years ago
FYI geoduck85 I think the Ron Paul said in one of the early debates that he has no problem with unions, because there is nothing in the constitution that warns against unions. And Ron Paul's answer to the environment is property rights, if we enforce property rights then corporations and governments won't be able to polute so easily, they are the ones who do the poluting anyway. Ron Paul is not against any state legislation for the environment but he's against it in Washington
HollisQueens 4 years ago
you need to listen to what ron paul says about unions. he says that people have the right to form unions, but that they shouldn't be protected by any special legislation. basically you can form a union, but if your company fires you for doing so, that's there right. and state legislation on the enviornment is not going work. the idea that a counry can function without a centralized goverment is just fantasy. remember the article or confederation?

Geotpf 4 years ago
I suggest you not believe everything a politician says for public consumption. You should read their policy papers. You should put more trust in that (see Democrat's "Foreign Affairs" articles) than lies they tell the electorate. I noticed in the debate Obama's number changed from 18 months to 16 and Hillary's from 5 years to "hopefully" 1 but they meant combat troops. You're being lied to (and it's a rather obvious lie, if you don't mind me saying).
Xenu 4 years ago
Clinton supported the war aggressively and continues to support it. She's only changed her tone recently in order to win the nomination. Control of oil is a source of intimidation and control over rising economic rivals. WMD was an obvious lie. Hillary knew it and supported the war and continues to do so. As did her husband. It does not get much clearer than that. Obama would be a bit better on the war although he also voted to fund it and removed antiwar speech from his site when was popular.
Xenu 4 years ago
Found the problem. The first four times I tried to post, I typed CNN'com instead of CNN dot com (with a . instead of a ').
