yous are crazy just tattoo on a live pig just ko the pig. im not joking. i understand if you dont know anyone that has a farm. than yea go to butcher the skin will only last few hours or less out of freezer. if you soak it in bleach for 40 mins then take out and put 1mm layer of salt leave in the sunlight all day. preservation

you can get the pig skin from the butcher nearest you, no i dont have people asking me to do a differant area, maybe to stop for a few seconds, yes fresh is best but if you wanna keep it freeze it, i left mine in the fridge and it went rotten. as for taking it out of the freezer and using it i have not tryed that.

How long is the skin good for? I mean, is there a certain time period when it becomes more difficult to tattoo? I would assume fresh is best..I'm apprenticing and not getting enough clients yet for good pratice and I'm looking for alternate methods.

Hey, I saw your video of the pigskin tattoos.

I just got some pigskin from the butcher. Put it in a closed plastic bag and then put it in my freezer.

Can I keep in the freezer as long as I want untill I decide to go work with it? Let's say in about three days?

And after I finished working with it (for instance I made a tattoo on it which I like). How do I preserve the skin without letting it rot and smell real bad?

its a good idea to practise on pig skin since its tougher and thicker than the human skin.

you should also put it on a curved surface to practice the effect of body shapes, so you can avoid distortion in the future if your tattooing yourself. good to see you have some decent equipment too ;D

You're on the right track, man!

But when practising on pig skin, use your left hand to stretch the skin as you would normally do on human skin.

Don't fix it!

And try to place the skin in different angles, from horizontal to vertical.

Otherwise, you will only know how to tattoo on a horizontal surface.

I hope you've got at least 2 machines - a liner and a shader!
