  • I get that 'commenting limit was exceeded' ALL the time. I also type those letters EXACTLY and it never works!!!!!!! Does that happen to you too?? YouTube should stop doing that.

  • Copying and pasting shit is little kid elementary imature shit. Every time someone does that shit, thumb it down and mark them as spam. Hate that shit.

  • yo this copy paste shit is just dumb. i dont work (of course) y should it . dont try it dudes! believe me i did !

  • @eeirertomb: I was being sarcastic about Pat. Clean coal may not be clean, but that does not discount its use a stop gap measure against global warming, perhaps if the hour had an actual expert like David Keith this point would of been brought up.

  • Why have Ed Begley on ask an expert vs a engineer or scientist? What next, is the hour going to have Pat Buchanan as an expert on stem cell research, I am sure he will very objective and give the pro and cons of stem cell research.

  • you no rmm5 you don't have to kill off the baby any more for stem cells so get over it, but this video is about Coal, and it's NOT Clean!, same as burning wood but 300,000 time's bigger, it's like saying Clean Wood Its the Best :) but it today!. lol

  • fyi it is "you know" and not "you no"

  • Although 'green' energy does have some drawbacks (loud for wind mills and you have to flood a place for hydro), I still think that it would be better than using fossil fuels.

  • i wonder when it is going to be safe/best time to invest into green energy.

  • I am not too dense to to be thrown a few stats you know..

  • Love the hour, but Ed Begley Jr. is not an expert on anything. He's an actor and he's borderline crazy, even his wife hates how hardcore he is about the environment.

  • Coal will still have a role if they develop the "methanol economy". Coal can be turned into methanol and, from there, into a diesel fuel called dimethyl ether.

  • since when did ed become an expert?

  • u can re-use the spent fuel rods using 'fast reactors' that use 100% the energy in the uranium. this eliminates the production of fission wastes

  • I do not know what to think, Ed.

  • June 1st everyone is pulling a prank on Fred,Unsubscribe to fred on june 1st

  • I'd like to hear him talk about Alberta.

  • Ummm you left out nuclear power! If we are going to be honest about energy you cant leave nuclear energy out of the discussion. Its the most viable and ready to go plus its a lot safer than people are led to believe by the people who have interests in seeing that it doesn't take off (i.e the coal people!). Nuclear is the way to go until solar and all other forms become more efficient and viably cost effective for use. But coal definitely needs to go away!

  • hear! hear!

  • i agree

  • Um one problem with nuclear. How long does one take to setup a nuclear power plant, what does one do with the waste? It is faster(and probably not that more expensive) to set up wind and solar farms as well as tidal generation. If there is massive investment in solar and wind infrastructure, the cost per KW goes down.

  • I couldn't agree more.

Mining coal is also very energy intensive, if we're using polluting sources of energy to power our mining operations then that's even more harmful to the environment.
