  • U r a hypocrite plain and simple. Shut up.

  • Theladyshiori So if the president was to invite some people over there to the White House And they were Christian that would not be a problem. And he has done that several times already but if he wanted to then turn around and invite moslems to do the same exact thing he had the christians doing that all of a sudden would be a problem huh?

  • Yeah that guy is pretty stupid. Typical fundamentalist ...

  • typical christian preacher....dont listen, just blows his big mouth off

  • I love it when people argue about bullshit. This is the equivilant of seeing two nerds argue about which version of Spider Man is best.

  • Barack Obama says he's Christian but yet invited Muslims to come and pray on the lawn of the White House. There's a difference between TOLERANCE and outright ENCOURAGEMENT. He is Not a Christian.

  • We live in a sick world when we are more disgusted with someone for burning a book than we are with the people who cut peoples throats and behead them like they are animals being slaughtered! The actions of muslims in Afghanistan just reinforce the US pastors views (which he's entitled to) that the Koran is evil!

  • 1. Catholicism has become corrupt over the centuries due to becoming so wrapped up in ritualism

    2. Billy Graham said recognizing God. Not getting to God. You can come from any path and redirect yourself to the true path of Jesus Christ

    3. Call it intolerance, but for those of you who want to take God and Jesus out of everything, He won't be in Hell.

  • @thedudewiththesax thank you.

  • The other thing

    Never blame the religis...

    Blame the persons guys

    Bad person

    Good person

Dont like if he is christian or other religs

  • In this time in life

    2011

I thinks the bibles in market has been written from good sells men

  • ya know, this argument is getting really old. Now I really want to vote a Muslim president. Free Religion? Or as long as its Christianity?

  • Also keep in mind that the Roman Catholic church is the largest psuedo Christian cult. The popes killed many true believers over centuries during the inquisitions because they believe Jesus is the head of the church and not the pope. We are seeing an eccumenical movement of all faiths coming under Rome and that is spoken of in Revelation. People need to wake up. Many are being deceived. Not everyone that calls themselves a Christian is a Christian. The Pope, Billy Graham, and Obama show this.

  • Well, there you have it. At least someone spoke on it. Call a spade a spade. Barak has openly said he "his muslim faith" and a few times. He bowed to the king of Saudi Arabia. When it comes to Christianity, he is definitely not that. Because Christians do not believe there are many paths to God. We believe JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY! The Pope and Billy Graham are not higher than the WORD OF GOD (THE BIBLE). If they say contrary to what the Bible says about Jesus being the only way, they are WRONG.

  • @KakkoiGuy1 jesus is immoral look at the scriptures jesus(god) tells men to stab INFANTS to death 1 SAM 15:1-3 i hope christianity is not the only way or well all wind up in gods hell or satans hell cause their both evil.

  • First of all...Jim Jones was a self-proclaimed Atheist. It's a FACT...therefore...he was no Christian. Secondly, Jim Jones preached "tolorance" and worked for "human rights" issues up until the day he left San Fransisco for Guyana (liberal polititians adored him)...to conduct the greatest mass murder in the history of this country before 9/11...just sayin'...

  • @Cookin8709 People from Kansas period are mentally defective.

  • @Cookin8709 Oh, you should see how they are in Oklahoma and Alabama. It's scary shitt.

  • Rick Sanchez: liberal lemming. If enough people believe it:count Rick in.

You are no Christian if you do not treasure and believe the Bible. What is just and fair about God is that if you want to go to hell...you're in. He doesn't recommend it though.

    Rm 10.8-13

  • obama is a buddhist.

  • @Cookin8709

    nice, good 1 mate

  • How do people get these ideas? They don't make sense.

  • Kansas is a scary place.

  • There is one town, Lawrence, which is unlike the rest of Kansas. Other than that, it SUCKS here.

  • @sorrorn

    ahhahahahah

  • The first question you should ask is why he thinks the president being muslim is a sin. trying to proove that obama is not a muslim is lie you agree that being muslim is a sin. The fact is all religions are evil, but you shouldn't judge someone for anything.

  • glad I am no longer a christians :)

  • Devil worshiper.

  • That Pastor is out to lunch. Now I know why I am an atheist.

  • A true super nutcase!!!

  • This is one of the more intelligent comments on this page. I love how gatheists leftists look at liberal pastors like Jim Jones, Wright, Sharpton, Phelps and Jackson to try to validate their point that Christians are bigots.

Fun facts left wing fascists. All those pastors are registered democrats.

  • Another closet gay preacher, this is classic, I am so embarrassed to be gay. Good grief.

  • Obama is scared to go on MSNBC. Why was that? Was he scared of answering questions about him and his policies?

  • while i don't agree with the minister's stance for a myriad of reasons--i think the man delivers an albeit ignorant but sound argument.

Govt. should never be and can never be an extension of God. If Bush was a good Christian, I dread the day when we have a bad Christian as a President.

  • So just based on this idiot all Christians are bigots and intolerant?

  • No, Christians are good people. Govt. is inherently evil though and we shouldn't even attempt to innoculate it with the virtues of faith. Its a futile enterprise just like Bush. We ellected Bush because Jesus talked to him(according to Bush himself), That isn't reason enough to be President. If a "good Christian" like Bush could cause so much harm to life on earth--honestly i'm willing to entertain anything at this point. You think a Muslim is extreme? I'm ready for a transgender scientologist.

  • Religion and faith are personal matters of an individual and the way that individual interprets his religion is his own matter. So you have people like this Holick guy, who is an absolute idiot and people like John Paul II who poses wisdom.

Exclusive statements such as this Holick guy made or the person that posted this video saying "all christians are bigots" are narrow minded and they are not characteristic for Christians or Muslims or Republicans or Democrats but for very stupid people.

  • Maybe I should move out of Wichita because it's full of idiots like this...

  • Another Religious nut-job, with convenient interpretations of the bible to push his own zenophobic, racist bile.

  • Constitution or not, no church has the right to interfere with government, and can, in fact, have its 501c3 revoked for political positioning and lobbying, including preaching for or against any one particular candidate for any public office.

  • this guy is an evangelical and does not represent the majority of christians

  • It matters not,all christian follow the matra that in which is the bible.

  • untrue

  • Do christians NOT follow the bible as the inerrant word of god

  • I think you're overestimating the religious zeal of the majority of christians, most of which are moderate in their beliefs

  • Oh believe me i am not, moderates lead to extremists.

  • thats true for everything

  • Yes but in your case its very evident and quite popular.

  • so how do i know whether you're just a moderate skeptic or an extremist skeptic

  • That too is irrelevant, for im not acting as if im "ordained"by an imaginary being to do extreme actions.

  • You are acting as if you possess an extreme surplus of logic which gives you intellectual superiority to anyone and everyone who professes certain beliefs. As if you are "ordained" by said logic.

  • Rational logic TRUMPS any and all fantasy.

  • Yes it does, but you're making the assumption that your logic is more valid than everyone else's.

  • I am only stating that logic is far more feasable than the fantasy you behold.

  • The fantasy I behold is easy to exceed with logic. But it is an easy target: a minority viewpoint held by those who are rejected by mainstream thought.

  • Sorry but you have just admitted that you believe in fantasy, and since you admit that you will also must admit that fantasy(religion)has no place in reality nor should it be.

  • Nice try. I have said nothing about my own beliefs or the beliefs of the majority. In fact, I have called the beliefs of the man in the video (which I am witnessing) to be fantasy and have distinguished them from the beliefs of myself and the majority of religious Americans.

  • Like i said,it matters not.Extremists are from moderates. And is this case religious extremists and moderates are seperated by an extrememly fragile line.

  • Now we're going in circles. Extemists, we can both agree, are unfavorable. But when you say there is an extremely fragile line between moderate and extreme religious people, you ignore the fact that similar logic applies in more than one case. Extremist skepticism can be considered unfavorable because of the very nature that its extreme, and since moderates are so close to extremism, that basically negates any credibility any group can have.

  • You fail to see the point made.Religious people hear voice, see things that arent there and believe they are ordained by god to do certain things. That doesnt apply to skeptics sorry. And i have never heard of a skeptic blowing up abortion clinics or themselves for that matter.

  • Surely you have heard of people burning down churches? You must remember that a significant percentage of the population is religious, if that number were matched by non religious people, there would be proportionally more violence from them.

Anyway, I find fault in your overall logic: "all religious people are extremists, even the moderates." Because, quite simply, not everyone IS an extremist, thats just a simple fact. Thats why there are moderates in the first place.

    Merry Christmas btw.

  • Okay you made an aggregious error here by ASSUMING.You ASSUME that is secularists were evenly matched in population with the religious there would be more violence done by the secularists.I dont know where you got that math from but its FAILED due to you assuming that it would.

  • It is an assumption based on logic, since it is human nature to conflict (there has been violence associated to almost every ideology in history) that does not mean any one is a cause of all violence. You make some assumptions that the extremists represent all religious people, which I will state yet again, is untrue, which is why we have a class call moderates.

  • But the fact is religion is a fine line between moderates and extemists based on ones mind and how they percieve god.Since god does not exsist. How can one even try to say they "know"god personally when thats not entirely possible.

  • You're making this claim based on the assumption that God is not real, which neither you or I know to be so.

  • Also im not assuming god isnt real, there is no evidence for your god or for any other.

  • So why say there is no evidence if you are not assuming he does not exist?

  • Well...do you really need to ask that question.

  • I'm just saying, if you're making no assumptions, that is irrelevant

  • And you simply didnt get it did you when i said its a fine line in the religious dogma between extremoists and moderates. That line is fine due to the fact that religious people hear or see god, some dont but to those that do may take that message in a violent manner.Even thou all religion is based on violence.

  • Once again, you show a complete lack of understanding on the subject.

Now you are claiming the moderate/extremist view is exclusive to religion? That's simply one-sided thinking.

I think its easy to say that very view religious people claim to hear or see god, even fewer actually do. Private revelation is usually considered important because it is so rare that not everyone claims to experience it.

Religion based on violence? Come on. Peace is in the basic dogma of all major religions

  • Peace? You certainly must be joking..Peace?Christianity was spread by the sword, the crusades, the inquisitiin, the witch trials etc.Islam was also spread by the sword, the turks, the ottoman empire.

  • Let's face it, everything was spread by the sword. But we were not talking about how it was spread. You said religion was "based" on violence, as in founded upon it. Christianity was founded through the martrydome of a man who taught peace and loving thy neighbor

  • Christ taught nothing of the sort.He taught that whomever does not follow him should perish, and that it would be everlasting suffering. That is not peace, that is called mental slavery.Sorry he never exsisted anyway.Moot point.

  • Cite your sources, it's usually the professional thing to do.

I don't feel I need to argue the point of his existence, he's a well known religious and historic figure. There is as much if not more proof of his existence than anyone else who lived in that period.

  • Sources for whom?As for jesus..besides the bible there is absolutely no evidence for jesus.NOT ONE contemporary writer ever wrote about him.Funny thing in the bible he was surrounded by thousands, not one wrote about his supposed exsistence.

  • For the sake of the argument.

How can you claim that when you clearly do not have knowledge of all possible accounts of him? How many historians do you see denying his existence? BESIDES the bible?? That's already a huge amount of writing about him, what makes those writings any less valid? In fact, they are because they have writings from many who themselves knew Jesus.

  • Okay well id like for you to name me ONE.One contemporary writer, since you have this "boatloadZ"of writings about him.And what historians? Please dont be shy.Huge amounts?Dont be ridiculous. There are simple near to none.

  • I haven't said that I have huge amounts of information or historians. But the fact that YOU don't makes your claim invalid.

The bible already constitutes a large amount of evidence that he existed at the very least.

  • The bible cant be used as evidence for jesus, that is called circular reasoning. You cant be this daft. Its like using the Cat in the Hat to prove that a twon called Whoville exsists.

  • You can't compare a work of children's fiction to a combination of historical and spiritually symbolic stories.

So if you don't want to believe the bible is sufficent proof, why can you support the existence of other people or events in the bible?

  • Jesus has absolutely ZERO evidence of him exsisting,no contemporary writer ever wrote about him.I see you couldnt produce one.

  • Once again, contemporary writers DID write about him. Almost all the New Testament was written at that time.

But the Jewish historian Josephus also wrote about him.

  • Okay well your first sentence is untruthful, because NOT ONE did.Josehphus (the fraud)?Born AFTER the supposed death of this jesus.Try again.

  • The major gosples of the New Testament were written by followers of Jesus. Of course, I suppose you simply disregard them because of their inclusion in the bible. Josephus lived in the period immediately following the death of Jesus. How can you claim an entire religion can be based off a man who did not exist, especially so shortly after he was supposed to have died? The bible had not been written yet at that point, so what do you think Josephus based his information off of?

  • Josephus got his info from other christians at the time, who wanted to spread their gospel.Thats how it was done,im still waiting for that contemporary writer.

  • I've told you countless times that the gospels were from contemperary writers: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, among others,

all of which either knew Jesus or someone personally connected to him.

  • You dont seem to understand. You are using circular reasoning.I want someone who isnt in the bible.Contemporary writer outside of the bible.

  • What I'm saying is that the Christians were the only ones at the time to write about Jesus because they were the only ones who considered him important. The fact that Roman scholars living in the generation after commented on him and on Christians showed that within a century Christianity was widespread.

  • And so because christians thought jesus exsisted because they consodered him important,he exsisted, and hes the son of the all this all powerful god?Where is this evidence for such? You do know no one wrote about him because....he never exsisted.

  • Ok, now you're just ignoring everything I've said.

I wasn't arguing the divinity of Jesus, I was arguing his existence as a historic figure. I don't even know what you're talking about in your first sentence.

And many people did write about him...like I just told you.

  • You havent given one writer that wrote about him while he was alive. That was the point.

  • I gave four who knew him personally that wrote about him after he died. Why would they have written about him while he was still teaching them? It was only after he died (and they believe, resurrected) that they saw the significance of Jesus.

  • Are you this dense? You are using the bible to prove the bible. Its called circular reasoning,my goodness.

  • I'm trying to proove that Jesus existed as a person, nothing more nothing less. I'm focusing on the person, not on the beliefs surrounding him.

  • Yes this i understand, there is just no evidence.

  • The ONLY reason Christianity was widespread was because Constantine wanted to end the war between Christians and Pagans before he died. And so, on his deathbed, he made Christianity the official religon of Rome. Had it not been for Constantine, a Pagan Emperor of Rome, and his desire for peace between Christians and Pagans, Christianity would be just another dead religion.

  • Actually, the four gospels were written several years after this "Jesus" supposedly died. In fact, neither Matthew, Mark, Luke nor John wrote exactly what was supposed to have occurred. It's called "human error." Some scholars have even said that these and all other NT books were written several THOUSAND years after the fictional Jesus supposedly died.

  • Most of them knew him, one knew someone who knew him. They all wrote pretty consistent events, some added events or emphasized different ones, but its pretty solid.

Several THOUSAND years? Let me remind you Jesus died about 2000 years ago...there haven't been several thousand years.

  • Hmmm. Can you prove that without using the Bible as an historical text? Probably not.

Let me remind you that history has a lot more years to it than your bible does, and that the bible's timeline is highly inaccurate. It doesn't even acknowledge the time of dinosaurs, for goodness sakes, and yet, there is solid evidence in fossils and bones that dionosaurs existed.

    O_o

  • I could probably cite plenty of scholars who agree with me on that. You might be able to find a few dumbasses who agree with you.

Oh, well I guess the Bible should have acknowledged the "dionosaurs" since it IS meant to be a natural history book, afterall.

Maybe we should read your Da Vinci Code for some real truth eh?

  • Like every other childish asswad fundie, you stoop to insults in order to avoid having to come up with historically accurate proof.

I think you've proven the point for me.

  • What the fuck is an asswad?

Its impossible to come up with proof that you would accept because your standard of proof is above what anyone else would accept. How have I not provided sufficent proof?

  • (1) My standard of proof is the same proof that any other decent scholar would ask for. Even in our healthcare, the basic rule is that if it isn't documented, it didn't happen. (2) I have yet to see any kind of quote that isn't a part of your Bible which speaks of Jesus' existence. (3) I would suggest that you realize that you're talking to a Bible College Graduate and an Ordained Minister before making any derogatory assumptions about me.

  • But it is documented, you just won't accept the documents.

Scholars within a generation after Jesus' death have written about him, like Josephus.

An ordained minister trying to disprove Jesus' existence?

  • (1) You're right, I won't accept Josephus as a source, simply because there is argument as to his accuracy. (2) Yes, I'm an Ordained Minister, and no I'm not trying to disprove anything. I'm a skeptic by nature, and often incite this type of discussion because its fun.

  • What arguments might that be?

I'll bite, what kind of ordained minister specifically?

  • Josephus has two major works. The first "The Antiquities of the Jews" in which the passage "Testimonium Flavanium" written. The passage was disputed by 17th century authors and the consensus view of scholars in the 18th century became that it was completely fictional. Another passage in that work speaks of "Jesus the Brother of James," but Emil Schurer disputes that passages authenticity. In addition, Josephus' other major work "The Jewish War" makes no mention at all of Jesus. Curious.

  • A consensus of scholars in the 18th century eh? There wasn't any mention of such a consensus today. There are also additional writers in the generation after Jesus who mentioned him.

I find it odd that an "ordained minister" (really specific) would provoke skepticism "just for fun." I mean, what if you accidently made someone lose faith in God because of it? Wouldn't that be contrary to your mission as a minister?

  • Give us some quotes. That's all we're asking for.

I am no longer a Christian. I mean seriously, have you looked at my screen name?

No, no, quite the contrary - my mission is to cause people to take thought and come to the realization that thinking for oneself is not a sin.

  • What quotes are you asking for?

    A minister who's not a Christian, interesting.

I think most people do, and haven't made a claim otherwise, so it really has no bearing on this matter.

  • Well, you have extra-biblical references that Jesus existed, right? Or at least you say so. So let's see them.

Yes, I am no longer a Christian. I won't rehash again why - you'll just have to watch my vids if you want to know.

Most people do what? Realize that thinking for themselves is not a sin? LOL Yah, ok. That's why there are still fundies.

    :)

  • I am an Ordained Charismatic Pentecostal Minister and graduated Bible College with an Apologetics degree and a Doctorate of Divnity in Biblical Studies. My favorite assignment was the paper I wrote called "The Miracles of Jesus," and I also wrote one called "The Divine Feminine in Christianity."

  • Didn't see this comment before I posted that last one. But my last question still stands.

  • Pope John Paul???? THAT CATHOLIC. GODDAMN Religion. Everyone is fucked!

  • Religion is a joke.

  • Lets be sure, the majority of us don't care if he is Muslim. However, if going to a Christian church for 20 years, and saying that he is a Christian makes him a non Christian. I who am not of the faith must be a Christian...

  • Exodus 20:3 (King James Version) 3Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

  • Goddamned this vile pastor

  • We can not win when arguing with ignorant people who are not able to see the true nature of things. Normally, we can just ignore them. But what can we do if ignorant people like this preacher get so brazen and offensive - and yet, seamingly, honest?

  • curious to know if this preacher has issues with anglicans or any other faith that follows the bible?

they too follow a different path...

  • these kooks are everywhere and they are irrelevant.

  • is it american christians different then other country christians? he is not muslim but what if he was a muslim?
