  • SAN DIEGO STATE YEAAAH

  • I need this in 1080p!!

  • You are absolutely the BEST!!

  • I love you professor! I wish I had a teacher like you!

  • Hehe, let me take that back.. I meant pepsinogen and tripsinogen in the fundus :P

  • Great vid, very helpful. i have only one question... You say chiefcells produce mucus, but don't they produce proteins, like gastrine in the antrum of the stomach?

  • Very well organised, very helpful for me. I work in histiology.

  • The only thing I miss from your classes is the proventriculus, since I'm a vet student. But, you can't have everything, hehe.

  • man, i wish i found this earlier, i suck at histology because the TAs don't really explain, they just hand out instructions and we follow, English is not my first language so I always have trouble with finding stuff. I study better visually, thank you so much, the mysterious doctoc, lol

  • How do you get the slides to load so fast? I feel like I have to wait for ages.. And I'm on a high speed internet connection too!

  • This is pretty good but my histology/anatomy professors expect us to also be able to find Mucous neck cells, enteroendocrine cells and stem cells. Too bad you didnt point them out..

  • @NinaVanPersie shit yeah, that is really terrible, in fact i dont think i will be able to sleep tonight, knowing that you wont be able to indentify those cells for your histology/anatomy professor.

you seem to be one of those dumb ass medical students who always get stucked on the most obvious details and wants to complain and discuss. geezus, how many of you are there out there.

  • @julietavalon There are some examinors in my university that are sick fucks and will fail u because of something extremely stupid. And dont bother commenting on my comment. I was studying that day for my exam and i just had problems with them. Why the fuck do you care? The fact that you are from Poland says alot about you.Go suck ur daddys little polish dick. Yeah i hope u wont be able to sleep tonight. All polish people are either cleaning toilettes, prostitutes or working at mcdonalds.LOW LIFE

  • @NinaVanPersie wow, are you for real? is that the attitude you have towards the people from other countries than your own? is that the attitude you will bring with you once you become a doctor? you should be ashamed of yourself. and maybe you failed to notice, how the person whose videos you are watching, actually has a polish last name? other than that, the examinors will not fail you because of"something extremely stupid", but they will if you are too dumb to realize what

    is important.

  • thank you, Doctor

  • if only I found this sooner...!

  • again thank you :) your videos are awesome dr.

  • rly nice explanation .. thanx doc ^_^

  • Wasn't it dense CT???

I can't seem to see the Lamina propria in many slides...how can i identify them??

  • Chief cells are not mucous cells, they are zymogenic cells that secrete mainly pepsinogen

  • And I thank YOU very much!!!

  • Would have loved to hear about enteroendocrine cells too... I hope I wont have to identify it at my exam :)

  • A little thingy: the submucosa connective tissue is dense, not loose.

  • @Dexterprog Submucosa CT is loose actually.

  • @safa4eva: not according to Ross Histology, but anything is possible. I always hated the loose/dense distinction...

  • @Dexterprog it is loose.

  • @veryjellybelly: again, not according to Ross Histology. What book are you studying from?

  • @Dexterprog I'm reading from a manual which the histology department of my university made. I also have the Ross book but I like reading the manual since Ross has too many details.

  • @veryjellybelly: well, manuals are nice, but when you have to base your point on something it is better to do it on a book than on a manual. Not to say the manual is wrong, but you know...

  • Your videos ROCK!!! Great teaching!

  • thx a lot for posting this video !!!

  • Thank you so much doctor, so explanatory and professional.you are the best!

  • You know what? I started to enjoy Histology since I found your valuable video lessons. Thank you so so so much.

  • me too!

  • same here!

  • Thank you very much for these videos. I am taking human anatomy right now, and I wish my professor would have something like these available for the students.

  • He did the gastro-esophageal junction and the gastro-duodenal junction, so that should give you an idea about what the stomach looks like at different parts.

  • Hello, thank you very much for these. I was wondering where is the rest of the stomach? the cardia and the pylorus ?

  • @Ezu8T

The other areas are pretty much similar except for the presence or lacking of chief cells and parietal cells. He shows us what these cells, the rest should be easy:

Cardiac: 4 cell types (except for chief cells)

Fundic: all 5 cell types (both parietal and chief cells)

Pyloric: only 3 cells (no chief or parietal cells)
