Good idea with the guitar stand. I have had the same guitar stand I also got at Guitar center and I bought a Samson mic a couple weeks ago to replace the very fragile and always falling down Blue snowflake mic which now retail for $60.00 and the Samson can be $40.00 and I think so far anyway has better sound and is not a fragile princess of a mic. How do you like your Samson go mic?
I was just wondering, do you use your mic just for recording only, or live also, as I would like to sing along with my guitar as a normal mic setup, having a mixer with effects into speakers not headphones, so I can hear my guitar live also.
Have you any advise or experience doing this with a Go Mic being USB.
I have a Samson Go Mic and had same problem, their is an allan screw behind ball joint you can tighten to stop mic moving if you want to, also if you make bolt longer and add a nut you can lock in any postion....... Hope this helps... Rob
i bought the same mic u got which is the go mic and the software i got is called cakewalk music creator le and for some reason i don't see my vocal levels move or nothing i can't record or nothing i do hear myself but i can't record is there anyway you could help me with this problem?do you have msn so u could mess with my volume mixer levels and etc..i think that's the problem but im not sure is there anyway u could help do u got msn messanger where u could control my computer.somebody help me
its a great idea...but can I ask why you chose to mount the 'clip' horizontally and not vertically, using the usb cable to hold it in the vertical position. (as you stated, the weight pulls it 'down' horizontally, and would do the same if the 'clip' was mounted vertically). As you said....its functional no matter which way...I'm just curious if there was an unapparent reason for mounting horizontally. (not cuz its pulled horizontal. I mean why not the clip and mic in a vertical position)
At the time, I didn't know that the cord would pull it down. But you are right, if I had glued the screw in 90 degrees differently, it would have worked well.
@brandonppl: Here is an idea that might help solve the issue of which way you want to orient your mic clip.
You could use a long enough bolt or threaded rod to put a nut between the mic clip and the stand itself. This way you can orient the clip in any direction. And then simply tighten the nut to the back of the clip to lock it in place. A wing nut would probably work better for this.
or you can go to ebay and buy a real mic stand for 12 bucks no hassle

@goffer4746 Good input. I had not thought to tighten that screw to hold the ball joint still. Thanks.

Since the Go Mic has a built in clip, why didn't you just clip it to the top of the guitar stand?

@rja12 Not steady enough (and it just wasn't as cool as a DIY project!)

Hi Hi, does it say Cabalero 11 on the label inside of your guitar? I recently bought a cabalero 11 and inside it says Mod. C3. I'm confused. Thanks.

Looks like you just need a stand for your video camera. :)

It's a Musician's Gear stand. There is a link in the description to the right of the video.

You're right, that would solve the problem. Hopefully anyone that decides to make their own puts that into their design.

@brandonppl: Thanks for the reply. Your video has inspired me to try some other ideas as well. I will keep you posted as I try them.
Thanks again for a great video!
