Get a piece of cloth (that rubs across the psp surface easily) and put your index finger in the cloth then rub back and froth across the triangle button really fast. When I did it I started gaining life instead of losing it. Hope this helps.

The one trick this cutscene taught me was the chin and thumb technique, You literally put your thumb on the button on and bang your chin on your thumb during a reaction scene. It works and has gotten me through extremely tough reaction scenes in all my games, or you can go with unknown145's technique. Why is Snake laughing?

Most people don't notice this, but when you press a button your finger pulls back reflexively about an inch. So the trick is to look at the button from the SIDE as you tap, this allows your brain to perceive the distance of your finger's recoil better, that way you can reduce the distance your finger is from the button after each press.

I think I figured out the laughing. Kojima said he had to edit THIS part of the game to have it fit in with the Japanese rating system (even they got a rating system now. Bullshit I know.) I think he edited parts and made it laughing to keep it with the rating. In Europe and North America and other parts of the world. This scene is uncensored.

using your index finger helps out alot, just make sure you break out and not wait around in the cell. they come back for you and you have to do the Triangle bullshit again.

what worked best for me was just giving it as much as you can with your thumb on the first 2 shocks, and on the third one, just mash the heck out of it with your index finger. It takes a while, but you can get it eventually. Also, experiment, and see what helps you most. for me, the whole fingerslide method worked okay, but my finger would constantly fall off the psp, or not hit the button correctly. just some advice

What I did was get the lid off a tube of hair gel, and rubbed it back and forth across the face buttons. I didn't even lose health till half way through the third round, and even then I got that health back!
