i have a question feel free to answer anybody who think they can help me but im drawing a portrait of my favorite rapper "Blu" for my Art 2 class this semester and i want to use Chalk Pastels for the Coloring to make it look more realistic but im having a hard time doing so since the picture im drawing has a 50% Black & White/Non-Saturated effect on it so it has color but its dimmed down where its barely noticeable any suggestions

@Esthiem I would use additional photo references to get the colour, or even better look at your own reflection in a mirror if your skin tone is the same - make sure the light's coming from the same direction so the shadows match up. It's quite difficult to do well but if you pull it off it'll really impress your teacher, far more than a straight copy would ;) Good luck and enjoy it!
