Janis Siegel did do a version of this--it's great! Also--yes--Bob Dorough wrote the music for this and Landesman did the lyric. One of my fave songs of all time!

I may be wrong but I was under the impression that this song was a Fran Landesman tune. I know Bob Dorough performed it but did he compose the music?

Absolutely love it! I'm performing this song but I know very little about jazz, haha. I really enjoy all the little alterations you made to the melody from time to time. I'm trying to figure out how to do that and it is no joke! Jazz is a difficult thing to sing, and you do it beautifully and full of emotion.

Although I might never play this particular tune, it really added to my ability to comp and add interest to minor key turnarounds. I'm in the process of going through all of your comp examples for additional ideas. It only pays to steal from the best! Love your voice, Michelle, and thanks for your efforts[in spite of the big bucks;-)] so we can hear what we're shooting for.

Great stuff - love the choice of chords throughout, which makes the piece sounds interesting without being over-the-top. Having the chords and keyboard available is really useful too, thanks. Oh - and hats of to Michelle who is one of the most natural Jazz vocalists I've ever heard.

...is not easy to find singer who can hold the tune so good by live singing, but Michelle Benjamin she does it very well, really power voice, I like the sound. I love the chords change at the end in particularly,nice surprise.Great Work
