my battery on my 6cell timlineX lasts roughly 7hours or so if i would to surf videos lil over 5 hours. but there are times i can go the whole day w/out plugging in. depends one what i do and how long i use it in one sitting.
Mmmh, probably a stupid question, but can replacing a 6cell with a 9cell battery harm your system? Are there many differences in output etc in these batteries? Because I bought an Acer 7750G and it only has a 6cell battery. I'm considering to replace it with a 9cell battery.
@brunomuyllaert - naaa, it can't hurt your system. It just changes mAh not voltage or current. Bacically the electricity is exactly the same as any other, just lasts a lot longer! I just upgraded to 9 cell and I'm loving it!!!

New 6000 mAh battery (as the original Acer one) available here: cheap-laptop-batteries(dot)com. Suppose it's a 6 Cell. Just ordered it today and will test it as soon as it arrives.
You can find it in the acer online store for example for 129 £ in the UK, but it is not available in all countries! An alternative is to buy a second 6-Cell battery at the online address where I bought mine indicated in a previous comment. With two 6-Cell batteries the 4820T should last about 8h depending on usage and settings.

This 6-Cell is not the original one from Acer with 6000mAh, This one has only 4400 mAh capacity. It lasts about 50% of the Acer 9-Cell/9000mAh battery. That's still 4-5 hours of WiFi internet surfing (8-10 hours with the 9-Cell !). I think the original 6-Cell/6000mAh will last under the same conditions about 1 hour more. Of course divide by 2 all this battery lives when using max. brightness of display and processor/graphic load.

I think 6 hours is realistic when just surfing or using an office suite but don't forget that using
- max. screen brightness
- the DVD player (viewing a movie)
- the ATI graphic card (for playing if you have one installed)
will reduce drasticaly battery life as low as 2hours !!!
