what a duesh bag! im giving this video 5 stars for its ability to enrage people.. small government is obviously IMPOSSIBLE!! our best hope is SMART government
conservatives always talk about "reigning in spending" but they never have done this so their argument has no meaning to me even though the idea looks nice.
those two ARE the reason the g.o.p. is seriously ill. if the party is to expand, and be more than a rural and southern party, than it MUST MOVE TO THE CENTER! it needs more chris smith and shays, sherwood boehlert, mike castle, former congressman mike fitzpatrick of pa. tim johnson of illinois.
Republicans are in denial, they aren't owning up to thier mistakes and flaws. Instead they think Obama won because people are mad at the government and the economy is in bad shape, not because he offered the opposite of what they have been telling us. They're acting like he got lucky or something.
It isn't about more govt or less govt, it is about SMARTER GOVERNMENT!!!!!! These douche bags are wrong, again, about what the people really want! Repubs are still trying to divide and conquer! Obama is (I hope) trying to unite and move forward! The people planning to subvert an Obama presidency before it even starts is going to cost them dearly!
I can never get how they can think Obama is anywhere near having socialist beliefs.
His healthcare plan is still about private healthcare, hes still for war in afghanistan, hes for lowering taxes for the majority of US citizens.
He was for the bailout, and while it was considered nationalising the banks, it really didnt since they still stay in private control, we just supposedly may get some of the profits if we are lucky.
He also wont get rid of the fed and nationalise currency.
But it works, the right keeps hammering the same talking point repeatedly until it is picked up the rest of the MSM flock.
The right has perfected propaganda dissemination the way the same message is massaged in from different angles and layered into the subconcious is truly amazing. You have Drudge, Foxnews, National Review, WSJ, NYtimes Editorials and church pulpits all quoting each other to give depth to a message that is factually incorrect.
Sorry, Eric Cantor, but your party's Philosophy doesn't match your party's Gross Philosophical Product. Americans are smarter than that.
How to change: You'll have to stop calling yourselves the party of limited government, less taxes, anti-federal spending, job creating, trickle-down economic, free-market, family/traditional values people. We now know you do the exact opposite of what you say you stand for... and you wage wars, too.
While I agree that this election is not the death of conservatism, this election was a mandate for progressive philosophy.
I find it funny when Bush won by 2% and received 286 electoral votes, Republicans claimed that the election gave Bush "political capital" to push conservative agenda.
However, when Obama wins by 6% and receive 369 electoral votes, it is because Republicans weren't conservative enough?? Bullshit!
lol...There is no bigger exit poll than elections. And overwhelmingly, Americans pointed Republicans to the door, and told them to "Get the Fuck Out!!"
The Republican Party was definitely "associated" with the federal government during the last eight years. They were running it. I can show him a road map for a couple more months but after that it turns to gravel.
Dear Heather, I read your side bar and I have to say that the breaking of the bank by the far right and facilitated by Bush was meant to happen. They planned on this so that when it did happen they could just declare all social contracts null and void. Federal pensions? Ta ta. Social Security? Pffft. All regulatory agencies? Whooosh, gone in a blink.
And the list will go on, it will become the wild west coupled with the depths of the jungle, true survival of the richest.
it might become the wild west. but the election of Obama is a clear indication that the pendulum is sweeping back, much to the chagrin of the neo-cons. sweeeet!
LOL, that WAS their plan, but.....he he he. Now, we have a ton of cleaning to do and they will by God pull their own. They had a real gala bash for the last 28 years, but now the piper demands payment. So, those who have benefited the most from the insane policies of the Reaganomics Era will be told to carry more of the burden than the folks who have watched the parade pass them by. But in the end, we will ALL be better off and safer for returning to fiscal sanity.
Neither do I. I used to listen to Thom Hartmann who would play sound bites of a Bush mentor plotting this. He didn't even try to hide his intentions. He knew the public would never go for disolving all of the social programs and regulatory agencies en masse so he dreamed up a real sly back door solution.
Agree or disagree with the efficacy of these programs, driving the country into ruin is no way to accomplish any goal.

Unless these guys change their attitudes, the Republicans are doomed. Big government conservatism got spanked in this election. Deal with it!

Check out all the conservatives on the Sunday shows, they all refer to the "exit polls" showing america is a conservative nation.
The memo has gone out and the choir is singing from the same sheet.

it's that gross blend of ignorance & arrogance. ;-)
The guests r wrong. It IS a liberal realignment.
LIBERAL:
- Not limited to/by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry.
- Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded.
- marked by a willingness to give unstintingly.
Nations r about synergy & non-zero sums. RNC is anti-gov't, so why elect them?
