I couldn't help but wonder if "depth" could be added to your layout through use of custom shadows (by dropping the saturation and lightness levels on your duplicate photo layer till its black ... drop opacity to 30% ... use smudge tool to move the 'shadow' out from under especially in the lower right corner just above the frame and then under the tip of the photo extending beyond the frame..
