I love the Dunov Battlecruiser. I have been locked in a stalemate with the computer for a week now and my pack of Dunovs have been driving off the enemy advancments the whole time with out me losing a single capitol ship... The subcapitols on the other hand are dropping like flies. Between Shield Restore, EMP Charge, and Flux Field they are just amazing.

on a large map i played i managed to get 12 level 10 capital ships and the last few were level4-6. it was awesome and nothing lasted long when i entered a gravity well :)

I tend to start out with an aggressive expansion to about 20 or 25 planets, then sit back and research the crap out of the tech tree and establish defenses. Works great against most AIs, who'll just suicide against a starbase all afternoon and don't bother with combat upgrades, but, problematically, if any of the other players do the same thing, it leads to hours-long tug-of-wars for even 2 or 3 systems, which is what happened to me XD

Later on in the game it starts to have low framerate... is it something to do with memory? I got an X3 Phenom 2.40GHz, 3GB RAM and a GeForce 220GT... technically it shouldn't happen, but some people mentioned a memory leak?

i played this game and it seems (in my opinion) kinda incomplete u should be able to do more to ur planets , u should have some costumization to ur fleet, and some freaking upgrades that u must earn :( poor game compared to other similar ones, but i have to agree that it has nice visual efects :)

love this game, it might take half an hour to get a game rolling and despite having a deeper backplot than Warcraft they in their infinite 'wisdom' decided not to implement a campaign,( I'd have even accepted one where you could choose your missions like in DOW2, 1 was ok)but its got unbelivable graphics, decent ai, hundreds of maps( not yours) a excellent diplomatic system it's still smaller than the recent TW games =D

the best thing about this game is the vastness of the battles and space....i made my own map where each solar system had like 40 planets and i controlled it all...and there was maybe 7-8 systems, i had to give each part section names cos there was so many places to control like solar system area 1 lol

Swarm. You can set up a perimeter with the capital ships, and not loose any of them to turret fire or attacking ships, while your swarms of drone-fighters tackle the major threats.

Then gracefully bring the capitals in close for orbital bombardment and followup colonization.

You want to kill the repair platforms first, then missile defense, then phase jump inhibitors, then those anti-matter energy things (not TEC), and finally the shipyards and docks...

I also am a big fan of sneaking a few Marauders around to the far side of the planet to start bombardment while my fleet handles the targets.

@james227uk not the way I use them, I just make 16 of them and thats all I need, I play advent and you can research something that passively gives them xp, so they will get to level 4 without having to ever be in combat so the lowest level one you have is a 4, I had a fleet that consisted of 5 radiance capital ships, 5 carrier capital ship, 3 motherships, 2 raptures, and 1 revelation, its a lot easier on your computer and you can kill anything with that.
