  • Kitsch or not kitsch ... I freakin like it¡¡¡¡¡ Period.

  • My Inspiration and the reason I picked up a Guitar!!! maybe there are some better there always is in time but he is still in my eyes , it don't get much better then Yngwie Malmsteen!! I LOVE U YNGWIE!~

  • I've never heard Air in D played by an ice-cream van before.

  • I think J.S. Bach is a Super Bassist.

  • Comment removed

  • With modern instruments and sounds, but it's obvious that classics never die. And gets the same sensations than classic version. Nice new vision of classic music!!!

  • Merde!!!

  • Poor Yngwie he cant resists to put 100 hammer-ons to slow adagio..

  • Wall of bach marshall

  • Well, the lack of monotonous 100mph scale runs and endless appeggios had me seriously thinking someone had attributed the wrong guitar player. Only that vibrato and tone convinced me otherwise. Me thinks the bounce has gone from Yngwie's bungie :D.

Thing is Yngwie's gotta shred for the shredders; he'll never compete with the classical guitar maestros for feel. Check out the likes of AndanteLargo's version to see what I mean.

  • ROCK ... MOODAFUCKERSSSSS .... \m/

  • Your a fag if you think this is bad, 80% Noise 20% bad interpretation?? Your 100% bull shit! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder bitches if you don't like it than shut the fuck up and keep your negative comments to your self. Bach would be flabber gasted that thousands of musicians play his peices in many differnt style's of music.

  • @yonnietre3 Well, at least i didn't swear around calling you fag, i guess that puts you on the "negative" comments side, i just made an opinion, i think it's as valid to like or dislike something. Anyways, i know you're just gonna swear 100 "you fag!!1!1!" on me, so it doesn't matter what i try to say. Good wishes.

  • 80% Noise

    20% Bad interpretation of Bach

Oh this metalheads, when are they gonna learn...

  • @rotsenon i thought it was pretty spot on, but im a metal head what do i know, im just filled with double bass crazy riffs and "noise", i have now feelings when i play, i suck =/

  • @TheHanafymm Hey, i like metal too, i just think sometimes there should be a little more research you know?... Before beholding someone and putting him on a "godlike" place... There's a lot of history involved on baroque music and its intention when it was played, etc... I don't know, i just think arts are dying and noone cares to rescue all that fallen knowledge, people like Malmsteen give the wrong idea to youth i think... Anyways, that's just my opinnion, consider me a troll if you want.

  • @rotsenon malmsteen is one of the only people that are trying to keep the arts alive, while putting a sort of spin on it, and who knows if electric guitars were around back then they might have used it

  • @TheHanafymm Probably they would have used them, they wrote music for pretty much every instrument they could find, it was a matter of "technologic difficulties" what determined which instruments were used or so... Tunnings had problems too... Anyways, i don't agree, as for example, he made a piece called "fugue" that is not at all a fugue, and kids would swear to everyone pointing that it is NOT, in my opinion, that's giving the wrong message to youth. Anyways, i don't wanna start an argue.

  • @rotsenon well when things like that happen the problem is in the kids, bsides hes meant to be listen to by the older part of the youth

  • sounds like shit...

  • This looks and sounds like a shiny golden God.

The mystery of Tenacious D has finally been solved.

  • More very good music with Venezia images /watch?v=OzGYOS-wnq8

  • Bach would not die again if he heard this he was a Contemporary for his time. He would probably have used Rock extensively, scratching too and whatever else is available today, and made it work. I think Bach would have loved this interpretation. The marriage of Rock and Classical is natural, both are so strong and stir your emotions.

PS, I am hunting for a Neo Classical interpretation of 1812, that would go off. Fcuk Yeah.

  • Bach would die again if he hears this!!!!

  • Hurts my ears! AAAAAaaahhhhh

  • Play something, anything made for this horrifying instrument, this is a baroque for goodness sakes.

  • I'm shivering from her

  • I enjoyed your tribute to this timeless piece. Keep doing what you do. I lovethe idea of a classical piece being played on a rock instrument.

  • Who is this guy?Whats his name?

  • @littleasshole26 yngwie malmsteen

  • MASTERPIECE..

  • @cougerlvr or a camera =)

  • who the FUCKING HELL could dislike this

    bach + malmsteen = wow

  • he`s ugly

  • @sukiyen who gives a fuck about his look? He is a God!

  • @sukiyen and you are fucken stupid!!!

  • Yngwie Malmsteen este señor es un genio pero que bien toca la guitarra

  • sheep may safly graze by js bach would sound great aswell

  • Would have been a shit ton better with a real orchestra.

  • love it :)

  • He CAN play slow... without sweep picking, arpeggios from hell etc..... Amazing...

  • Stellar playing but this interpretation just kinda bores me. This piece is moving but done this way ........ just not feeling it.

  • This track shows the true greatness of our Maestro. I weep with joy everytime I listen to this. Yngwie has the greatest vibrato in music, and technically, his playing completely kicks ass!! Long Live Yngwie, The God of Virtuosity!

  • Bravo Bach

  • he's my hero !

  • Perfect Yngwie! Rough edged but exceptionally respectful. What to say, love and light :)

  • i was happy when i disliked. First time ever and ive been on for years. This just wasn't original or creative. Didn't require any musical talent either... just fuckin squeels that a13 year old guitarist can do.

  • @BoatNectar It isnt supposed to be original, its a 300 year old Bach composition. There are definately cleaner versions around but if you listen to Yngwie this type of rendition shouldnt be too shocking.

  • @BoatNectar you are stupid.

  • @ZOMFG102 observant*

  • @BoatNectar Lol sure...so let's hear something from you now.

  • @Liturgyofwar oh no! you got me... Wait, I'm allowed to have opinion on movies even if I didn't direct them? I have the right not to like a teacher, even though i've never taught a class? This guy sucks, I wish i made the comment more than 9 months ago so i could've gone longer without hearing this shitty interpretation.

  • @BoatNectar

You have the right to not like, sure. But this guy does not suck as you say.Nobody forces you to like something, each one of us has different tastes and rightfully so.But frankly, if someone influences millions of guitarists for many decades around the world, objectively speaking it means he has something that is unique.Again, not saying everyone should like him, but having respect for someone who has enormous talent would be nice.

  • Yngwie J Malmsteen forever !

  • Great version, but he owes that to the effect's he's using and to the synth on the background. Not to be picking on Yngwie, but I think that's the reason why it sounds so good.

  • se suonassi la chitarra come lui,...mi strapperei tutti icapelli dalla gioia!!!!

  • Uli Jon Roth version is better

  • Ruined a perfectly good song

  • comercial as hell tumbs down

  • wil not trust you because i disagree i love yngwie, although i love paul gilbert as wel i think your talking about him im sure

  • Totally kitsch! Oh poor J.S.Bach!

  • @kovakoe

? Too bad you cannot appreciate the beauty of it.

  • Absolutely beautiful, with this piece I can fly, I can dream, I can love...

  • pauls better hes awsome at classical and also alot more versitle blues rock speed metal heavey metal jazz fusion and he sings awsome song writer neoclassical gets boring trust me i was a die hard fan of yingwei

  • @crisDAwog your comment to the power of infinity

  • @crisDAwog why would you post a comment about a different guitarist on yngwies video? just leave.

  • @codyahernek because he can and it's an opinion, if u dont like reading critical comments, then dont read.....:P....

  • @crisDAwog Jesuz dude, learn some punctuation.

  • @crisDAwog yeah well marty friedman is better then paul gilbert, you only have to watch some of those jap videos where they vs each other.

  • @crisDAwog yeah well marty friedman is better then paul gilbert, you only have to watch some of those jap videos where they vs each other. And dude paul gilbert cannot sing, anyone who thinks gilbert can sing must have there ears painted on.

  • el gran Walter Giardino tambien hace una excelente versión de esta belleza de pieza musical.

  • where can i get the backin track for this air on g string...please if somebody knew..just let me know

  • parece el cantante de mana. jajaja

  • effects box master!

  • totally agree with highique. Well said my friend!

  • Now this is classically classic. Makes me want to hold and kiss my lover

  • Magnifique ,Yngwie Malmsteen...

  • Never heard it done this way, but it's intriguing and heartfelt. I think Bach would like this very much:-)

  • I found the keyboard's tone a little cheesy, but his playing very tasteful.

  • This is how neo classical metal sounds good, not like the messy stuff made by little kitty

  • Holy crap, proof that he can play expressively!

  • I like this version too, though I've heard much faster versions

  • This is the best Guitar version. Much better than any other Guitar interpretations I ever heard (including Malmsteen's other versions). I like it more than the orchestra version.

  • magistral... =D!

  • People need to shut the hell up here Yngwie had alot of influences from various eras of music and that's what him today so he is a master so get over yourselves I bet you can't do better than him anyway period.

  • in my opinion, malmsteen like my number 1 on the list of BEST skilled guitar players in the world, but jimmy page is number 1 on my most influential guitar players

  • no richie blackmore is the most influential guitar master ever in my opinion

  • super!!!

  • love this version. Love Uli Jon Roth's version, too

  • funny how many old timmers say guitar will never be appreciated by people who listen to classical music. What a load of crap, i love classical music. I should remind them guitar was the first stringed instrument invented!

  • i love malmsteen for years but cmon... hes just fast... not a real virtuoso

  • @chicken316 hes more than fast and plus he invented a genre

  • @danophile07 and what genre was that?

  • @chocolateMAN200 great another idiot ¬_¬... he invented the neo classical metal genre, how do you not know that

  • @danophile07 i do know that thats what most people think but im pretty sure richie blackmore played some of the first neo classical sounding stuff on the solo for highway star by deep purple

  • @chocolateMAN200 nope incorrect he played a simple not perticularly well known simple classical tunes anybody couldve done that. tony iommi played in drop c and played classical scales bak in 1970 in the live paric video but that wasnt even consideered neo classical though that was closer than what richie blackmoore did

  • @danophile07 well excuse me then i stand corrected

  • what genre specifically?

  • Comment removed

  • i like it better on a classical guitar...fingerstyle and that stuff :D but nice tho

  • grandiose, une mélange de style complètement opposé et un résultat phénoménale.

  • I love song, the Yngwie's version and the original by Bach

  • As "good" as he is, ol' Yngwie will always be overshadowered by the giant upon whose shoulders he stands: Beethoven. That and he runs too hot and cold for my taste.

  • @InnkeeperX plz dont compare beethoven with malmsteen....beethoven was innovative composer who had a genuine impact on his era of music, malmsteen is merely a showman....and he's not even awfully good at that

  • Wow....

  • im surprised he didnt do his trademark "shred" in this one. Thank god. Great stuff.

  • @mrhollywood1 THANK GOD?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO LISTEN TO YNGWIE IF YOU DO NOT LIKE HIS SHREDDING!!!!

  • i was thrilled when i found this song in the Attack album :D

  • impresionante

  • So beautiful...

  • I thought this was somebody else there home skillet, do you play your own lullaby for every listener Y.M.?

  • Magnifique guitar ....end spirit ...end hands ....of GOD ...Malmsteenn We Love You .

  • sensacional

  • esto se llama ser un dios y gran cover a johann sebastian bach

  • im not gay but look at this pics he would still look good if he wouldnt be soo fat

  • amazingly beautiful!

  • Amazing

  • Simplesmente belíssimo!!!!!!!

  • so wonderful

  • Sounds alot like Gary Moore during his ballad songs. Excellente

  • en otra palabras no tengo palabras

  • The Best , always !!!

  • Masterpiece!

    Malmsteen rules!!!!

    Guitar god!

  • Please, can someone share de tabs for this amazing piece?

    Thanks.

  • i wish i could play quitar like this guy.

  • HE DID IT VEEEEEEEERY GOOD

    O_____O

Go Yngwie vi alle älskar dig!!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • jesus christ, Malmsteen is just so fucking amazing.

  • the best ever guitar player...

  • @nosferatusism exelente!!!

  • @nosferatusism la velocità non è tutto!!!!

  • @nosferatusism in your opinion

  • @nosferatusism

jimmy hendrix is the best guitar player ever...

    but malmsteen is still great..

  • @pililicus lol jimmy hendrix wass goodbut dont compare yngwie malmsteen music is baroque the mother of all music

  • @pililicus LOL dont compare, jimmy was good but ynwgie invened a genre and do a lot of stuf in trasposing violin to guitar in baroque scales...

  • @jitolino Baroque scales? I'm sorry, but the major and minor system was already in place by then, what the hell are baroque scales? Don't talk out of your ass. A violin line can be played by a guitar without any editing at all. Even though guitar sounds an octave lower than written, it seems like Yngwie has chosen here to play it at pitch. He didn't need to use these non existent "Baroque Scales" because they were simply plain scales that we know and use today.

  • @pililicus Hendrix kicked open the door for the guitar yes,but Malmsteen pretty much rules the guitar playing universe. He isn't the only killer player, but he is on top..

  • @nosferatusism the second best guitar player, Jason Becker is the firts :D

  • the king of neoclassic

  • Macaxe:There are hundreds of classical music recordings of this popular Baroque air. You should get the orchestral "Suite No. 3" of J.S. Bach. You will need more than a G string.

  • because u will also need a thong

  • O.O wow !!!

  • WTF?

  • noice..

  • Very nice, anyone know where I can find a backing track for this or other neo-classical stuff?

  • ¡me encanta!

  • Desconocía el movimiento del metal neoclásico, pero me ha parecido muy interesante... gracias por compartir esta versión del Aire

I didn't know about the neoclassical metal movement until now, but now that I did it, it has seemed very interesting to me... Thanks for sharing this version of "Air".

  • well its not really a moviment, its just people with modern instrumentals playing classical music.

  • my husband is fantastic.I love you malmsteen.

  • The master Yngwie Malmsteen!!! The BEST :)

  • bloody brilliant!

  • amazing!

  • bellisimo!

  • it makes me cry....

  • pales in comparison to sarah chang's version

  • Toca RAULLLL

  • THIS IS FANTASTIC!!!

  • Grande gorrrrdo!

  • It's not good.

    It's Amazing!

  • if it ain't baroque don't fix it

BACH WOULD BE IMPRESSED WITH YNGWIE

  • no he would not

  • in 100 years time...when all the current living haters are dead, Yngwie will be a legend! long live malmsteen!

  • @highique hater?...it's not a haters thing...it's the thing that he first is an arrogant douche and second his skills are not that great as everybody thinks...

  • un chido regalo para los k amamos la musica clasica con arreglos metaleros

  • i prefer original version, concerto for violin! that's much more expressive!

  • o kara toka muito.... so isso!

  • ARrrrgh! malmsteen, love ya!

  • I think his guitar is broken in the picture, he has a huge gleam coming from it...

  • Incredible piece of music, I want to learn it

  • i like it

  • I'd much sooner listen to something more faithful to what Bach wrote.

Malmsteen has the interpretive capabilities of a single celled organism.

  • when it comes to an electric guitar air in g interpretation, i am just soooooooooooo partial to Behimo... i love the explosive start and the tons of emotion that rage throughout the score... Behimo sets Bach to FIRE!!!!!!!!!!

  • i'll second that. this interpretation is far too oerblown and
