My Inspiration and the reason I picked up a Guitar!!! maybe there are some better there always is in time but he is still in my eyes , it don't get much better then Yngwie Malmsteen!! I LOVE U YNGWIE!~
With modern instruments and sounds, but it's obvious that classics never die. And gets the same sensations than classic version. Nice new vision of classic music!!!
Well, the lack of monotonous 100mph scale runs and endless appeggios had me seriously thinking someone had attributed the wrong guitar player. Only that vibrato and tone convinced me otherwise. Me thinks the bounce has gone from Yngwie's bungie :D.
Thing is Yngwie's gotta shred for the shredders; he'll never compete with the classical guitar maestros for feel. Check out the likes of AndanteLargo's version to see what I mean.
Your a fag if you think this is bad, 80% Noise 20% bad interpretation?? Your 100% bull shit! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder bitches if you don't like it than shut the fuck up and keep your negative comments to your self. Bach would be flabber gasted that thousands of musicians play his peices in many differnt style's of music.
@yonnietre3 Well, at least i didn't swear around calling you fag, i guess that puts you on the "negative" comments side, i just made an opinion, i think it's as valid to like or dislike something. Anyways, i know you're just gonna swear 100 "you fag!!1!1!" on me, so it doesn't matter what i try to say. Good wishes.
@rotsenon i thought it was pretty spot on, but im a metal head what do i know, im just filled with double bass crazy riffs and "noise", i have now feelings when i play, i suck =/
@TheHanafymm Hey, i like metal too, i just think sometimes there should be a little more research you know?... Before beholding someone and putting him on a "godlike" place... There's a lot of history involved on baroque music and its intention when it was played, etc... I don't know, i just think arts are dying and noone cares to rescue all that fallen knowledge, people like Malmsteen give the wrong idea to youth i think... Anyways, that's just my opinnion, consider me a troll if you want.
@rotsenon malmsteen is one of the only people that are trying to keep the arts alive, while putting a sort of spin on it, and who knows if electric guitars were around back then they might have used it
@TheHanafymm Probably they would have used them, they wrote music for pretty much every instrument they could find, it was a matter of "technologic difficulties" what determined which instruments were used or so... Tunnings had problems too... Anyways, i don't agree, as for example, he made a piece called "fugue" that is not at all a fugue, and kids would swear to everyone pointing that it is NOT, in my opinion, that's giving the wrong message to youth. Anyways, i don't wanna start an argue.
Bach would not die again if he heard this he was a Contemporary for his time. He would probably have used Rock extensively, scratching too and whatever else is available today, and made it work. I think Bach would have loved this interpretation. The marriage of Rock and Classical is natural, both are so strong and stir your emotions.
PS, I am hunting for a Neo Classical interpretation of 1812, that would go off. Fcuk Yeah.
This track shows the true greatness of our Maestro. I weep with joy everytime I listen to this. Yngwie has the greatest vibrato in music, and technically, his playing completely kicks ass!! Long Live Yngwie, The God of Virtuosity!
i was happy when i disliked. First time ever and ive been on for years. This just wasn't original or creative. Didn't require any musical talent either... just fuckin squeels that a13 year old guitarist can do.
@BoatNectar It isnt supposed to be original, its a 300 year old Bach composition. There are definately cleaner versions around but if you listen to Yngwie this type of rendition shouldnt be too shocking.
@Liturgyofwar oh no! you got me... Wait, I'm allowed to have opinion on movies even if I didn't direct them? I have the right not to like a teacher, even though i've never taught a class? This guy sucks, I wish i made the comment more than 9 months ago so i could've gone longer without hearing this shitty interpretation.
You have the right to not like, sure. But this guy does not suck as you say.Nobody forces you to like something, each one of us has different tastes and rightfully so.But frankly, if someone influences millions of guitarists for many decades around the world, objectively speaking it means he has something that is unique.Again, not saying everyone should like him, but having respect for someone who has enormous talent would be nice.
Great version, but he owes that to the effect's he's using and to the synth on the background. Not to be picking on Yngwie, but I think that's the reason why it sounds so good.
pauls better hes awsome at classical and also alot more versitle blues rock speed metal heavey metal jazz fusion and he sings awsome song writer neoclassical gets boring trust me i was a die hard fan of yingwei
@crisDAwog yeah well marty friedman is better then paul gilbert, you only have to watch some of those jap videos where they vs each other. And dude paul gilbert cannot sing, anyone who thinks gilbert can sing must have there ears painted on.
This is the best Guitar version. Much better than any other Guitar interpretations I ever heard (including Malmsteen's other versions). I like it more than the orchestra version.
People need to shut the hell up here Yngwie had alot of influences from various eras of music and that's what him today so he is a master so get over yourselves I bet you can't do better than him anyway period.
in my opinion, malmsteen like my number 1 on the list of BEST skilled guitar players in the world, but jimmy page is number 1 on my most influential guitar players
funny how many old timmers say guitar will never be appreciated by people who listen to classical music. What a load of crap, i love classical music. I should remind them guitar was the first stringed instrument invented!

@InnkeeperX plz dont compare beethoven with malmsteen....beethoven was innovative composer who had a genuine impact on his era of music, malmsteen is merely a showman....and he's not even awfully good at that
@jitolino Baroque scales? I'm sorry, but the major and minor system was already in place by then, what the hell are baroque scales? Don't talk out of your ass. A violin line can be played by a guitar without any editing at all. Even though guitar sounds an octave lower than written, it seems like Yngwie has chosen here to play it at pitch. He didn't need to use these non existent "Baroque Scales" because they were simply plain scales that we know and use today.
