  • awesome remix <3

  • The drums you use in this are great. Seriously, those drum loops are fantastic, but the production has some compression issues that are pretty tough to overlook.

  • @OtraCitiesMusic always someone out there like you that has to pick away at the minimal faults to a song, i take it your shit doesn't stink ?

  • @OtraCitiesMusic im new to production like i dont know whats wrong with this can you point it out as it would help me in the future? x

  • @EskiDNB Sure thing, bud. Now, listen between 00:00 and 00:22. No problems here. Clean and clear. Right after 00:22 though, comes the harder kicks. When the kick drum sounds, notice how the volume of nearly everything else seems to go down a little bit, then fade back in to full volume just before the next kick drum. This can be caused by many different things, one potential being that the kick has sub bass frequencies of 20hz or lower.

  • @EskiDNB Anything lower than 20hz has a tendency to eat away at your speakers' power, forcing them to blow air with high energy at slow speeds, if that makes any sense. The second option, which is equally feasible is natural compression. When you put two instruments together that take up the same frequency space, they tend not to play nice. The kick may take up some of the same ranges as some of the other instruments, lowering their volume and declaring itself the clear winner.

  • @EskiDNB The last and most likely reason why this problem exists is because the guy just wanted to get his kicks through the quick and easy way--compression. Using a peak controller or limiter, he can make sure that all other sounds decrease in volume when the kick is activated. This lets the kick through cleanly, but forces a real compromise in production quality. Either way, the remix is very nice. Just needs a little work.

  • @OtraCitiesMusic oh ok man, that has helped alot, big respect for you x

  • @OtraCitiesMusic drumloop is from chase and status time remix stems x)

  • nice remix:)

  • An echo and a slightly faster drum line doesn't make for a good remix.
