If Alou wouldn't have raised such a hissy fit, maybe Prior wouldn't have gotten so rattled. Then again, if Dusty hadn't been asleep in the dugout, perhaps he would have noticed Prior was dying out there. Bartman was just a fan going for a foul ball. How was he supposed to guage the outcome? He had his eye on the ball, not where Alou was.

yah i went to a few games by that spot and one game it was pretty open over there so i went over and sat in his seat. i could defff agree you have to actually sit there to truly understand how easy it was bartman to reach for the ball, and i can honestly say i dont know how anyone could tell there was a player right under the wall.
