I am very sorry to have to announce that Ricky died on the 24th August, 2008. He had been seriously ill since last October, when he was diagnosed with lung cancer.
Interesting show. I was involved in a mini-project on trains in Ballyshannon, via local school 10 years ago. What a tragedy that the lines were not kept by the government. Think what a tourist attraction a wee railway ride from Ballyshannon to sea side at Rossnowlagh would be now. However, the lines are now covered by houses. The Irish govt. in the late 1950`s had NO vision.
RIP ricky

Whole atmosphere of a sleepy rural branchline; very well captured.
The Railcar(s) look superb.
