Peter keep your head up boy! stay the course. the reason you are not on so much these days is because you are right and the government doesnt want your message getting out. (but you know this i know). youre trying your best!!
Well Peter Schiff predicted Dow 4000 back in January and the markets went the other way since. Of course, you can quote the dollar index and say the DOW hasn't really been going up that much compared to commodities but that was not what Peter Schiff said was going to happen when he was on those shows. Also, we have not yet entered into a currency crisis yet but when that happens you can bet that he'll be on.
You know, the answer to everything isn't simply that it's a conspiracy.
nobody gets it right all the time..especially when the goalposts are constantly being moved in a live and dynamic market (i.e Fed, ECB et al. printing money to beat the band). dunno did Mr. Schiff see that one coming. hes not psychic and nobody is perfect.
also.. just because the government don't want you to hear something doesn't make it a conspiracy. that's just life, governments do that. they have to do that sometimes otherwise they wouldn't be able to govern effectively.
and you have entered into a currency crisis. its just on a slow boil and has not climaxed yet.
Well, Marc Faber has been on TV shows a lot. You both have the same scenarios in the long run but he's much better at predicting the short run as he called for a bear market rally so in the eyes of the mainstream he is better.
Following Peter's comments for a long time and while I think he is a genuine guy & solid economist he definitely shifts his position too much on the investment side. It wasn't long ago he was saying that the Dow had way lower to go on his radio show & then a few weeks later it had changed to an inflationary rally! The real rep breaker will be his gold calls for me.They've been so long & loud that anything less than $1500+ per ounce won't be make it a credible call talking about candy prices!
The reason your not on is because this next crisis is THE BIG ONE when the dollar fall the U.S. when hit a brick wall, on the Jim plaplava show they are talking a lot about war now! Things are heating up!
well said Peter, the reason your not on is because you were right. the TV is not about truth , so before they wanted you on becuase they all thought you were a loon, but know that your making sense you dont qaulify for mainstream news. the zombies like liars and unfortunatly your not.
Follow the Constitution! Sound advice from Peter Schiff. The termites who want to chew America to nothing want to undermine it just as some of these posts show. That's why you have those same phonies in here attacking Pete.
Peter Schiff is going to crash and burn if he goes into politics upholding the constitution and its authors as divine. While the idea of freedom and the protection of individual rights was and is the most important aspect of a fair society: slavery, eminent domain, and interstate commerce laws all contradict the idea of freedom and individual rights. The constitution is great, but not divine.

Not today no. There were many Abolitionists back then and states that started pushing and getting rid of slavery themselves. It was only a matter of time before all states got rid of it.
Many other countries in the world got rid of slavery the same way. None wrote a law prohibiting it or anything, just simply as time progressed, people saw it as wrong and got rid of it.
As for the Constitution, there is no law in authorizing it or saying that "It's legal"
more than tricky, slaves were considered property and only counted as three-fifths of a whole person - not to mention women weren't even allowed to vote.
both have since changed does it then mean the document is living or not?
lol That's why I said it's tricky. Has the document changed, yes, did it need to be changed? No.
Laws would have ( as they are now ) been passed through the local level, states rights, which would have gotten rid of slavery eventually and gone into more things ( like voting, etc. )
Now, as for women being allowed to vote being a good thing or not, that's a whole other issue we can get into that discussion if you want but that's another can of worms lol
This comment has received too many negative votesshow

I admit I have no idea where all the money is going from (could be China for all I know) but shows some1 has faith in America, especially since I believe much construction is on spec.
On the other hand Schiff says you shouldn't make any investments in America. He trashes America so much I wish he'd just move to Mexico or China or somewhere else.
How about all of you fascists with socialist agendas move. This is 1 of the few lands that are supposed to be free. There is plenty of government control elsewhere, why change us when you can simply move yourself?
its not hate, its just vs other investments, US wont pay the dividend that other country's will.
i think you are confusing hate with logic...
if anything he doesn't hate America, he hates the current economic policy which if i remember is a right to be able to express...and seeing he is an expert, why do you want him to move?

His Dad had the balls to stand by the Constitution and go to jail for it. As I understand it the Constitution states that wages will not be taxed, profits will be taxed. Now wages are taxed and profits aren't. Peter schiff would probably insist that he stands on the shoulders of his father and for that I applaud him. REVOLT!
What free markets? In a free market if you cheated someone, you would either go to jail or get shot by a pissed off counter-party.
What we have had for the last couple of decades is colusion between multi-national corporations and our elected representitives. It matters not one whit if the Democrats or Republicans are in power - it's the same policies that rob the poor and give to the rich. All profits are retained and all losses are passed on to the taxpayers.
they crashed the US economy with the fed. reserve in the great depression and then spent all kinds of money creating hyperinflation. the very thing they claimed it would control and guarentee wouldnt happen with it, lol.
Stop pretending you know what you're talking about. Those are clearly all talking points from the media, the same media that didnt see the crisis coming, didnt know what was happening when it was happening, and didnt know why it happened after it happened.
Most people haven't read the Constitution and feel it's old and out dated. Tell us about the Constitution and how it's superior still to any other form of governing the people.
silentmajor: Don't give me this ignorant persons garbage. Whats outdated? Freedom of speech? Thanks Schiff for this very good youtube channel. I am planing to move some of my euro based asessets (Living in europe) to contra dollar fund as a preparation for the upcoming dollar inflation or is there a better way for a non US-resident?
Peter Schiff predicted the collapse, that should give him more airtime. The people who are now blaming the collapse on the so called de-regulation could not predict the collapse because they do not understand economics.
Give this issue some more thought and you might get it right...
The media is trying hard to manufacture a rally and someone who has been right and will not spew propaganda will hurt their cause, thus you haven't been on as much lately.
How pathetic......rather than address the economic state of this country with such a credible man like like Peter Schiff...Good Morning America would rather talk about obama's new dog....just another example of why this country is in trouble. When are you coming to Phoenix to speak?

Peter, I agree with you 100% on the Constitution and the libs attempt to make into something it is not. The libs want to use "feelings" to interpret laws on a case basis. The reality is that those self-described "intellectuals" are lazy group thinkers who follow any idea one of them comes up with, consequences be damned. Their final decision is always to throw more taxpayer money at it, increasing the debt for future generations. War is the only way out, and it is coming.
If you want more media coverage try to be less vague. Try to talk of specific examples of what needs to be done. I.e should we stop income taxes or reduce it for non-government owned corporations. Also, do you believe in environmental economics? I.E if coal keeps up should it pay for ita damage?
Peter, they don't want you on TV because you're not good for consumer confidence. Did you notice the big upswing in CC since you've been away? That won't continue to happen if you are telling folks the truth...
Yea Stewart loves to interupt with silly little jokes, Schiff has such great and important things to say, and I hope he has enough time to get his msg out and Stewart doesn't belittle it.
But the show has a huge following so even if a few sheeple open their eyes and decide to follow up on Schiff it will be good for Americans.
No kidding, you can't herd the sheeple for the slaughter house if they know that's where they are goin.....Bush errr, I mean Obama (they're just so similar) is the pied piper and the country is following him off a cliff
I can't believe I didn't get called out on the "your"/"you're" issue :) Glad to see there are still people on the net who can separate what you say from how you say it.
"When a government is dependent upon bankers for money, they and not the leaders of the government control the situation, since the hand that gives is above the hand that takes... Money has no motherland; financiers are without patriotism and without decency; their sole object is gain."
There was a great article in today's WSJ. Maryland raised taxes for millionaires and out of 3000 millionaires in April 2008 there were only 2000 left this year. 1000 moved out of the state. Instead of collecting 100 million more in taxes, the state has earned 100 million less.
Unfortunately Peter you are seen as playing for the other team. We are in a pre WW2 Germany situation whereby the governent propganda machine is running on all 8 cylinders and to them you are the gremlin. If you have been reading the headline business stories lately you would think the economy has turned around, when in fact it is worse than last fall. Todays consumer sentiment report was a complete government fabrication to keep the fake good news propganda going.
I don't really get why people show so much support (as demonstrated by my negative comment ratings) for the very organization that Peter is arguing is currently in the process of running our economy into the ground (by essentially stealing all our wealth). I'm a little shocked actually.
You come across as attacking... yet you attack what I think is probably your closest political allies. (not that I think you are actually "attacking", you just come across that way.)
That's good. I'm glad everyone agrees with the substance of my arguments. If it's just my delivery that people object to, then I won't worry about it.
D4 shawn when you have manipulative power hungry Globalists doing the interpretation, yes it is pointless. If there was a law that said wearing Red was illegal they would call it Magenta and mass produce it .Nothing is finite when leaders manipulate and remove common sense. So, the answer is forget the constitution and just give them dictatorial power I suppose. The point he's making is that the American leaders need to get back to basics if they really want the country to prosper, but they don't
If I want somebody to provide me with a good or service, I simply pay them to do so. Many of us do this every day of our lives, and it seems to be a pretty workable system.
Either we have a Constitution to Limit Government or we have no Government at all, otherwise there will be total rule and everything you love about liberty will be trashed... Its true, the purpose of the Constitution was bypassed by crooks in office.. going as far back as Quincy Adams with the Department of Interiors.. I believe like Madison the President has too much authority, that is excluding what is going on today because currently he has even more power..
Hi Peter, since u created this channel, I was hoping you may read some of these comments. My question is that what would happen if Fed prints money to buy gold? Ultimately would that mean its hedging the inflation its creating?? Or would that even be allowed?
when you print empty money, you destroy (inflate) other peoples wealth , it doesnt matter what you do with these new money. In your example you 'steal' some purchasing power from all other peoples who own $ and you buy gold. It's a good deal for people who prints money but other will have to pay for it anyway.
Can't wait for the Daily Show appearence; it should be great.
We've seen a couple enviromental protection regulations come out recently (car mileage standars and cap 'n' trade) and I would love to hear the Austrian perspective on externalities and what should or shouldn't be done when they occur.
Walter Block talks about this in some interviews and speeches and I believe in his new book. Mostly it comes down to private property rights and peoples/companies obligation not to pollute others property.
"you make it sound like the fed and our government are purposefully trying to sabotage our way of life. "
Do you honestly think they print so much money just because they have dumb economic ideas? No, they want to use the money for themselves and their friends.
Just like any thug would if they could counterfeit money and force everyone to accept it.
to be honest i absolutely do believe the government is trying to sabotage us. they are some of the most brilliant minds on the planet and know exactly what they are doing to the people.
We can spend the rest of eternity debating whether or not the constitution gives the government the right to establish a central bank (for example). That debate will never go anywhere. We are far better off making the argument that,
a) Central banks are disastrous, and
b) I don't particularly care what the constitution says. I never signed it.
Fine. Go on like Ron Paul, and try explaining to people why the establishment of the Fed was "illegal". See how far that gets you.
It's actually a lot easier to explain why somebody else can't reasonably sign a contract on your behalf (without your consent).
I mean... people have to be pretty thick-headed to think that a tiny group of men 200 and some years had any business entering me into a contract when I wasn't even born yet. The whole idea is just silly.
Actually Ron Paul has paved the way forward with a "the Fed hurts us all" argument, and I have not heard him mention anything about any "illegality" in this decade.
Do you even know what the constitution is? The constitution does not tell you what you can and cant do. It has no control of you, and is meant to not be in your life atall.
It is meant to restrict the power of the federal government. Whats ironic about your statement is that the opposite of what you think happens, will. The less the constitution is followed, the MORE that the federal government is in your life.
I have no problem with where I live. I have a problem with a certain organization that provides goods and services at the point of a gun (so to speak). I would gladly opt out of that relationship, and purchase my goods and services from competitors. However, the organization in question, uses force/coercion to secure customers and prevent competition. It uses the same methods to acquire land.
And if the mafia takes your money for "protection", you are free to move to another neighborhood where there is another mafia that will extort you for protection.
But that's not the point, because you never requested the services of the mafia in the first place.
You are misinterpreting my original point. He said that he didn't sign the constitution--I said he chooses to live in the state that did sign the constitution. I'm all for small government. It's just that if we simply FOLLOW the Constitution, and not INTERPRET it, we would far more prosperous.
The world is full of states. If you didn't have one, another would "claim" you. Witness Somalia. Government is first and foremost a protection racket. Sadly there are precious few alternatives in the world.
Now allowing them to control your every movethat is indeed the "safety" of slavery.
There are alternatives. We don't need to have a slavemaster.
The problem is that everyone believes the state is necessary, but it's not...
Although it can be hard to understand these things... As you say all landmasses are at this point dominated by one state or another, but the state cannot rule by force alone, it needs ideology to maintain itself.
Secondly, the whole idea of a constitution is absurd. A constitution is a unilaterally imposed contract. None of us ratified it or agreed to it. Such a contract would be laughed out of court by modern standards. The whole idea behind a contract is that it represents a voluntary agreement between parties. The constitution is nothing of the sort. It's ridiculous. We can't just unilaterally impose binding social and economic relationships upon other people. By modern standards, that's absurd.
We don't need to sign the constitution nimrod. It wasn't created to restrain the people or to give people rights, it was created to restrain the federal government and give it a legal frame work of what they can do.
"it was created to restrain the federal government"
If you want to go on believing that politicians are restrained by (or give a crap about) the constitution, well... be my guest. Debating which aspects of the government do or do not violate the constitution is totally pointless. It's like trying to debate what the Bible does or does not say. The Bible can be used to justify anything, and so can the constitution. Both documents are utterly pointless.
"and give it a legal frame work of what they can do"
By modern LEGAL standards, unilaterally imposed contracts would be considered absurd and invalid.
I can't for example, present you with a contract that says you need to buy a car from me, or allow me to have sex with your wife, or give me 40% of your income. Such a contract is meaningless (by modern rational standards).
I think you're great. I'm lovin' your blog, and I'm reading your book.
However, I must reprimand you for your support of the constitution.
For one thing, I think it's irresponsible and dangerous to perpetuate the idea that politicians can, have, or will ever give a crap about the constitution. We need to abandon that delusion. The constitution is dead. Politicians don't give a flying frak about the constitution. We need to accept that reality in order to deal with it.
The last time I checked, the constitution is the document which supposedly justifies why I must give the government 50% of my income so they can flush it down the toilet, and/or create general havoc, mayhem, and injustice at home and abroad.
I don't know what flavor of Kool-Aid Mr. Badnerik is serving... I'm sure it's delicious... but no thanks, I'll pass.
I honestly don't see how people can take the constitution seriously. If I proposed something similar, you'd think I was crazy.
"False, the US Income tax is unconstitutional. So is the Federal Reserve. Read up a little bit more before you make such a dumbass comment."
Like I've been saying: It's completely pointless to argue over what is or isn't constitutional. That debate is pointless; it will go on until the end of time. The constitution can be interpreted however those in power (with all the guns) choose to interpreted it. If the government says it's constitutional, then it's constitutional.
"You obviously have no clue as to why The Constitution is important. What a shame."
It's only importance is to those who want to steal my money. No legitimate business imposes upon me a contract which I did not sign which stipulates that I must pay them for their goods or services or be violently attacked. The constitution is a mafia contract. It is a ridiculous attempt to justify mafia tactics/behavior. Nothing more. That is not how reasonable people conduct business.
"If you have such a problem with our constitution, then do something about it... get the f--- out of our country!"
What I AM going to do about it, is contribute to the development of free market money and anonymous financial transaction. If you don't like that, then you can leave the planet, because the relevant technologies (i.e. anonymous computer networks and public key cryptography) are not geographically based. You'll have to go somewhere with no internet if you want to maintain your mafia
hahaha....i stumble over to this corner of the universe and i see D4 getting attacked by zealots!
"get out of the country".....i've been told by the republicans to move to iran, i've been told by the democrats to move to canada....but now from people who are supposedly anti-establishment? wtf??
the constitution does not address the root cause of the problem. it is like building a giant river and then struggling to make a dam. the problem IS the state, not what form it takes.
BTW, you owe me $2,000 because you live in the same hemisphere as me. I also declare ownership of the moon, so I'll be charging you a "gazing tax" should you ever look up at the sky at night.
I'll send you a PM with my paypal address. If you don't pay up, I WILL NOT send any goons with guns to your house to abduct you and throw you in a cage. I'll just fine you every month until the end of time (or you pay the total). With this kinder/gentler policy, I hope to out-compete the government.

Following Peter's comments for a long time and while I think he is a genuine guy & solid economist he definitely shifts his position too much on the investment side. It wasn't long ago he was saying that the Dow had way lower to go on his radio show & then a few weeks later it had changed to an inflationary rally! The real rep breaker will be his gold calls for me.They've been so long & loud that anything less than $1500+ per ounce won't be make it a credible call talking about candy prices!

jafomab 2 years ago 2
Peter Schiff is going to crash and burn if he goes into politics upholding the constitution and its authors as divine. While the idea of freedom and the protection of individual rights was and is the most important aspect of a fair society: slavery, eminent domain, and interstate commerce laws all contradict the idea of freedom and individual rights. The constitution is great, but not divine.

if we followed the constitution wouldn't we still own slaves?
marniespeaks 2 years ago
Not today no. There were many Abolitionists back then and states that started pushing and getting rid of slavery themselves. It was only a matter of time before all states got rid of it.
Many other countries in the world got rid of slavery the same way. None wrote a law prohibiting it or anything, just simply as time progressed, people saw it as wrong and got rid of it.
As for the Constitution, there is no law in authorizing it or saying that "It's legal"
It's tricky...
MrMP81 2 years ago
more than tricky, slaves were considered property and only counted as three-fifths of a whole person - not to mention women weren't even allowed to vote.
both have since changed does it then mean the document is living or not?
marniespeaks 2 years ago
lol That's why I said it's tricky.

"When a government is dependent upon bankers for money, they and not the leaders of the government control the situation, since the hand that gives is above the hand that takes... Money has no motherland; financiers are without patriotism and without decency; their sole object is gain."
- Napoleon Bonaparte, 1815
prescottbill 2 years ago
Why are you quoting a dictatorial, imperialistic mass murderer?
If money was truly controlled by private bankers without state intervention we would've never had this problem to begin with.
But what happens instead is the state forces everyone to use the money that THEY print...
In Argentina, the central bank issues all the money, and it's a story of hyperinflation after hyperinflation.
If you can't force people to use your money, you can't inflate it because they would stop using it.

Do you even know what the constitution is? The constitution does not tell you what you can and cant do. It has no control of you, and is meant to not be in your life atall.
It is meant to restrict the power of the federal government. Whats ironic about your statement is that the opposite of what you think happens, will. The less the constitution is followed, the MORE that the federal government is in your life.
stumbo2w 2 years ago
You didn't sign the Constitution, but you CHOOSE to live in the State that did sign it. You are free to choose where you live.
bajoverga 2 years ago
"You are free to choose where you live."
D4Shawn 2 years ago
"You are free to choose where you live. "
And if the mafia takes your money for "protection", you are free to move to another neighborhood where there is another mafia that will extort you for protection.
But that's not the point, because you never requested the services of the mafia in the first place.
NoCryingNowYes 2 years ago
You are misinterpreting my original point. He said that he didn't sign the constitution--I said he chooses to live in the state that did sign the constitution. I'm all for small government. It's just that if we simply FOLLOW the Constitution, and not INTERPRET it, we would far more prosperous.
bajoverga 2 years ago
Sure, but if we avoid having a state altogether, we would be even more prosperous.
NoCryingNowYes 2 years ago
The world is full of states. If you didn't have one, another would "claim" you. Witness Somalia. Government is first and foremost a protection racket. Sadly there are precious few alternatives in the world.
Now allowing them to control your every movethat is indeed the "safety" of slavery.
VeniVidiVid 2 years ago 2

D4Shawn 2 years ago
We don't need to sign the constitution nimrod. It wasn't created to restrain the people or to give people rights, it was created to restrain the federal government and give it a legal frame work of what they can do.

Like I've been saying: It's completely pointless to argue over what is or isn't constitutional. That debate is pointless; it will go on until the end of time. The constitution can be interpreted however those in power (with all the guns) choose to interpreted it. If the government says it's constitutional, then it's constitutional.
D4Shawn 2 years ago 2
Further more, IT DOESN'T MATTER what is or isn't constitutional:

"You obviously have no clue as to why The Constitution is important. What a shame."
It's only importance is to those who want to steal my money. I'll send you a PM with my paypal address. If you don't pay up, I WILL NOT send any goons with guns to your house to abduct you and throw you in a cage. I'll just fine you every month until the end of time (or you pay the total). With this kinder/gentler policy, I hope to out-compete the government.

I think you may need some founding fathers and some sacred cows. Having god by your side helps as well.

The ghost of John Lennon was there as a witness when I claimed ownership of the moon. That should suffice.

I can't wait to see Peter Schiff on Jon Stewart! Peter is a hero for exposing the hyperinflation that will soon destroy America. If you agree with Peter that the US dollar is about to collapse I suggest you read the articles and signup for the free newsletter at: Inflation . us

I hope Peter prepares for the debate, because Jon Stewart sucker punches his guests all the time.
