@lonkylaine Simple Minds and U2 were the best band of the 80's....in my opinion! and still now they're a great band...especially Simple minds(they are really underrated),4 me they're a better live band compared with U2...ps I saw 16 simple minds gigs(the 1st one in 1984) and 15 U2 gigs(the 1st one in 1985)! greetings from italy!

This was a great version of Bad thanx for sharing it's nice to see Bono fresh on stage performances and can really see in his eyes that he believes in what he is singing that it's pouring from his heart. Here lately on the 360 tour it seems like he is loosing that edge or I am getting old, wish he and the band would watch this performance and regain that razor sharp edge U24U2 forever!!

was at this gig, took a major panic attack when then joined in with 'John lennon's 'Stand by Me' & turned volume up to (15) eventually setting off earth tremors in Holland...
I was very fortunate to see Bono sing it "just like this" a few times in his hay day! This song keeps me from totally loosing it. I am very grateful. peace....... love U2 ;) & G!
In those days U2 playing Bad wasn't rare at all... It was considered to be one of the highlights of the evening. I really pity the fact they don't play it as much as they should (although I understand)...
somethings in life make u feel magic, take a deep breath, such as a new born baby, a beautiful woman, a beautiful view and also u2 in full flow during bad, i remember 1987 in ireland, we were so proud that an irish band had become the biggest on the planet, u2 were like a breath of fresh air, there finest times, happy days. magical.
look what a u2 gig was like at that time. today you get less than half the excitement and energy from the audience. u2 s music is not the problem, nowadays all people do at gigs is get out there f***ing cellphones to make pics or vids to share them on facebook or whereever and no one freaks out anymore or loses him/herself to the music like then. GET A LIFE ALL YOU SHARERS AND PICTURE TAKERS!
@prototube001 I saw this same comment on another vid. Good point. Stop trying to capture the moment and instead, immerse yourself in it. When I visit amazing places in the Western US, I tend to not take pictures, because ultimately, you can't capture the feeling or the experience of it thru a visual image. Live the moment that can't be recorded by a machine.
@prototube001 Yeah, I thought that was really startling on the Rosebowl DVD. It's like, that's a stadium with 100k people in it...and they're not doing anything. They're not jumping up and down, not making any noise. It's so weird.
@prototube001 Great call.. Unfortunately we live in a totally different society now. It's gotten worse rather than better. Our lives are lived on the internet. Go back to basics
@prototube001 So true! I don't take my camera with me sometimes and I end up having a better time because I'm more in the moment and enjoying what's going on around me.
Who made you King of U2 concerts? Did you ever stop to think that people might want something to remember after paying 500 f#$king dollars for a god damn concert ticket? I saw them in 1987 on Joshua Tree tour for 26 bucks with decent seats when I was 12 years old and then in 1993 at Dodger Stadium for 48 bucks in the nose bleeds. I could care less about the other fans. I just don't want to get ass raped in the wallet to hear someone sing who can't hit the notes anymore.
Loved u2 in the 80s followed them every where , even slept outside cardiff stadium the night before just to have a good view, then over the years they changed there musis and style and just coudnt ajust 2 it x::(

@Seana1Ford We all have to grow up, some time. I had 10 gauge earrings in my ears when my son was joining Boy Scouts. There were about 50 people there, fathers and sons, and none of the fathers had earrings. At first I felt irritated that everyone was so conformist. As I met the men, they liked me but looked at me like I was some kid. I realized, it was all fine and well for me to be a non-conformist, but not if it interfered with my son's possibilities. I took them out that night, forever.
@Dallasdeckard I'm not saying it was bad for Bono to change his look, he was inspired by David Bowie, the ultimate ego chameleon so I'm not sure why you feel the need to defend Bono's choice to cut his hair... all I'm saying is from a girl's point of view I like his hair long.
@Seana1Ford I wasn't "defending Bono's choice to cut his hair", I was simply proposing why he might do so and regaling my own story. Did I say that you said it was "bad"? No. Try not to be so confrontational.
The Edge makes the sound with that unique repetitive sound and Bono sells it with great style. This song believe it . . was the song most often heard by the soldiers in Iraq 2003-2010 for some reason ( i think the older guys really dig it) at least by my ears. Yes we do have music out there and so it bears repeating. Bad by U2 is simply a great cut . . . really dig the Live Aid '85 performance of it. Rock on.
This is U2, particularly Bono, playing their most triumphant song - their best song, really - at the level it deserves.
This song will always stand the test of time. It is not a shame, just the fate of father time, that Bono's voice has not been able to keep up with the intensity the song absolutely needs...
When U2 got together with greenday and recorded "The saints are coming", i thought it sounded terrible. It just threw off the balance. These 4 guys play together so well. for real bands, its hard to find replacements. if one of these guys left, U2 would be done for. you cant replace any of them, and have the same unique sound

@Nigelxman I was talking about him in the band. If you think he's an asshole in the band I don't know why you're wasting your time looking for ''rare'' videos of them playing :-).
@marianahewson1995 Relax Mariana it was just a joke. :-) I have no doubt that Bono's a good guy deep down. He's just a bit full of himself. Don't be so sensitive. :-)
Excellent !

the one bad thing about this clip is the constant interruption of the music for interviews.

I love the Edge - he is the true genius behind U2
UnkleSi 2 years ago 7
Edge is the head of the band, Bono is the heart, Adam and Larry are the legs
marianahewson1995 2 years ago 70
Paul McGunniess is the neck - he turns the head anyway he wants.

@marianahewson1995

@marianahewson1995 Actually Bono is the "asshole" :-)
Nigelxman 1 year ago
@Nigelxman I was talking about him in the band. If you think he's an asshole in the band I don't know why you're wasting your time looking for ''rare'' videos of them playing :-).
marianahewson1995 1 year ago
@marianahewson1995 Relax Mariana it was just a joke. :-) I have no doubt that Bono's a good guy deep down. He's just a bit full of himself. Don't be so sensitive. :-)

Excellent !
;o)

one reason for me to love U2 is that they never have classic songs-strophe-refren-stophe-refren-strophe-refren-end!
allmost all their songs were like someone tells a story, with great development during the song.
Do I made myself clear ?(I doubt)
