And how is this career path going to work in North America where freight trains DO NOT run to a timetable? Freight trains depart when ready and arrive when they get to there destination.
@rogertra Presumably there are more scoring opportunities than scheduled stop timelines. If you're carrying delicate cargo, then braking or accellerating too hard would result in lost points. Similarly, usual driving mistakes like wheelspin, speeding, etc will affect scenario scores. There are plenty of ways to make career scenarios work without normal scheduled passenger routes.
You already get a activiy evaluation with the game now based on a 100 percent perfect scale. I don't really see the need for this over the regular activity evaluation you get when you complete a current scenario in the game. Also can you tell me how comfort levels in activities are calculated in current activities in railworks. In microsoft train simulator their was a scale for fragile to durable in the activity editor that was adjustable but I couldn't find it in railworks can you tell me?
It's a good idea in theory, but I agree with BearGuyPaul - in practise this kinda sucks. I'd rather be able to drive a train by my own schedule rather than having to work for credit.
Furthermore, and I can get away with saying it here rather than being slapped down by an over-officious moderator, the criticism you get from people on a well-known forum beggars belief. Many of those people give the entire community an awful, old man, elitist club-feel.
Anyway, good luck to you with this. It'd be great if you could make the score hideable while driving in career mode, that's my only request!
could a future development be possible to simulate motion, and also giving the class 166 a proper breaking system with selectable 1,2, full service and emergency.
I guess some will like it and some won't, so on that basis it should be optional. It depends on how you view the sim - as an immersive model railway, as something to play around with, or as an opportunity to practise driving different rolling stock.
The principle seems good to me - assessment of your performance is true to life, not least in the modern railway industry.
Disappointed to see that this particular driver wasn't penalised for not having headlights switched on!
This is a terrible idea!! Being scored to drive a train! This is going to take the fun out of the SIM by making it a SKILL GAME. I hope this feature is optional, I definitely don't want it.
Why are you driving 'bang road'? Ah, it's Germany......

Unfortunately due to the privatization of the railways, the prices are now way too high and you'll see there is no passengers. Their all on the bus!

as a great love of realistic simulation games, i love this idea!
cant wait til it will be released!
will it be as a payware add-on, a new version of railworks or a third thing?
And do you have a ETA on that?

More cab controls are logical as Career Mode progresses. DRA wont be active with the initial release though.

I think it's a great idea. It gives you incentives to re-run scenarios to try and improve your driving.
I really hope the juddery motion problems are improved at some point though.
