i was there! this was so moving. i remember being mesmerized by what he was saying and how optimistic and grateful he was for his life. it was an experience i will never forget.
jacob stayed at my house and i watched over him while at displace me. though people were ecstatic that he had come to austin and very excited to meet him, they were never inappropriate. on the contrary, people were overly respectful. jacob felt loved and well received. he looked around and said, " these people care about my home." i was proud of austin that day.
Jacob was great. I rode on the back of a golf cart with him and he held my arm. He seemed really overwhelmed but really moved that all those people were there to show support for the people of his country.

i remember people were treating him like a disney charactor. i was embarassed for austin.
