With slow-mo you can tell Lezak's rhythm and technique is a lot better than Bernard's. Bernard just seems to be stroking and pulling wildly and seems to be trying to use brute force where as Lezak's strokes were controlled and efficient. Lezak didn't panic and lose his rhythm and technique. Good job!

why isn't LEzak's split also a WR for 100m? Technically he swam 100m in 46.06 and crushed the 46.90 WR. Yes, its not a "100m event", but he still swam 100m faster than WR time. Give it to him! Its a no brainer!

@cobrien1977 because he had a relay start which negates the reaction time to get off the blocks after hearing the beep and he can swing his arms giving a little more momentum. a relay start should have a reaction time of 0 seconds when a normal start has .6 - .7 seconds. trust me im a swimmer. he probably would have gone about a 49.8 and beaten the WR but its just not legit
