  • @weelogines what year is this commercail from

  • wow cracked wasn't lieing

  • The best comercial EVER.

  • nom nom nom

  • At first it was cookies!!!!!! as an adult it was cocaine!!!!!!!!!

  • His table manners are... less than ideal...

  • moral of the story: get eating all that other crap out of the way so you have excuse to eat truckful of cookies. sounds legit.

  • This is the best PSA I've ever seen. See, kids, it's okay to eat a dumptruck full of cookies--as long as you eat all your meat, fish, veggies, fruit and milk first.

  • So the message is:

Eat a little bit of fruits, vegetables, and meat, AND YOU CAN EAT A GODDAMN TRUCKLOAD OF COOKIES

  • I want a fucking whistle.

    Oh, and salutations from Cracked.

  • Remember kids: A healthy meal always ends with flipping the fuck out like a PCP addicted hobo and inhaling a dump truck load of cookies.

  • Epic win

  • at first i was like, " oh cookie monster, you were all i believed and now u dont like cookies?? " *facepalm*

and then :55 happens and im like, " hey.... everything is back to normal. the world is just fine. "

  • I'd love to write something like this.

  • What I find most baffling is that the Roving Reporter DOESN'T SEEM TO NOTICE the advancing bulldozer at ALL.

  • Cookie Monster ONLY eats cookies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SUNSHINE21480 Cookie Monster eats EVERYTHING!!!

  • but he's been eating nothing but cookies for the past 42 years

  • @YTMize Not true.

He eats ANYTHING and EVERYTHING (letters, numbers, fruits, vegetables, meats, telephones, typewriters, cars, rocks, brick walls, appliances, chairs, plates, paper, Christmas trees... You name it!)

Go watch some of the really old Sesame bits and you'll find him eating all that stuff and more.

  • surprised cookie monster didn't get adult onset diabetes from years of eating cookies.

  • "Wha? Who dat?"

  • Me like dat commercial! It funny at de end!!! COOOOOOOOKIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Man do I miss the 70's!

  • I thought the Cookie Monster will get ran over by a bulldozer

  • How old is this? 80's? 90's?

  • @Familygirl17 1978

  • @buzzlewie Uh, try like, 1971?

  • So Cookie Monster has been eating healthy food since the seventies, huh...

  • Cookie Monster's living large at his Corsica summer resort.

  • Living proof that Cookie Monster has ALWAYS endorsed healthy eating habits, LONG before all those extremely false "Veggie Monster" rumors came into being.

  • asre you googling your cookies at all.?

  • so many cookiiiiiiiieeeeees!!!!!

  • of course, sesame workshop, cookie monster eating healthy food instead of cookies is like ronald mc donald eating at burger king

  • when was this commercial made was it in the 60s,early 70s,or late 70s or early 80s or late 80s this commercial is like over 30 years old does anybody know?

  • @girlygirl850: this commercial was made during the 70's, believe this was during the mid to late 70's, at least that's when I saw it. I'm 40 years old and remember this fondly.

  • @girlygirl850 circa 1970-71 I first saw this when I was about 4 years old

  • That was the greatest Cookie Monster PSA ever! Why can't they do them like that today?

  • All those cookies completly cancelled out all the good nutrients he ate

  • Watch how skillfully Cookie throws the food in his mouth---Only in the hands of Frank Oz could this character be done right. No puppeteer can match his version of Cookie. No screeching "red menaces"-just classic Henson magic. COOOOKIIIIEEEEEEEESSS!

  • this shows that the cookie monster was including other foods in his diet WAAAY before the big "Veggie Monster" scare.

  • @AcousticNinja623 Exactly! Does no one remember the "Healthy Food" rap he did in the 80s??? A Muppet isn't to blame for child obesity ... parents who enable their child into a size XL by the time they're 8 are!

  • @AcousticNinja623 Sesame street should show this classic video that Cookie Monster was eating healthy at some point in time. At least that's better than naming him some damn "Veggie Monster". He will always be our COOKIE MONSTER ;)

  • @mrmoore1970 He never changed to Veggie Monster. Don't give in to lies.

Besides, he can't change his name legally anyway.

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome!!!

  • It was hysterical the first time I saw it 30+ years ago...and it's still hysterical now!

  • Me Can't stop laughnig at the end

  • COOOOKIIIIIEEEEEEESSSS

  • me learn to speak english from cookie monster

  • cookie monster is so funny the message is good

  • Made about 10-12 years before "Healthy Food".

  • Wait.

    Meat AND fish?

  • Cookie Monster should have had the milk WITH the cookies. That's they way of the world. :D Still, best ending ever. :D I'd LOVE a dump truck full of cookies right now.

  • Why didn't Frank Oz remake this ad for the early 2000's when Cookie Monster had for at least one season changed his tune about cookies on Sesame Street with "A Cookie Is A Sometimes Food"? They could've re-enacted it with the current Cookie Monster, but replaced the crane with the same brown truck that was seen in "The Monster's 3 Wishes" on the show in 1973, and then have Cookie blow the whistle to back up the truck so he could dive in the back shouting, "COOKIES!".
  • Sadly in todays world, people don't have the time to eat all of that. If you get a cookie in your doin good.

  • hey Worldchallenge: lighten up a little!

  • And, actually, moviedudeinc, Sesame Street debuted in 1969, not 1968.

  • From 1974.

  • @kungfujiapple 1970-71

  • I can't help but laugh at the end when Cookie blows on the whistle and then yells "COOKIES!!!" out loud as the camera quikly zooms out to reveal him getting dumped on by the backhoe of cookies,I'm guessing the planning and timing of it is so funny.

  • I love this psa because of the classic Seseme Street(1968-now) cookie monster and...

    ...COOKIEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!

  • COOOOOOOOOOOOOKIES!!!!!!!!!

  • hahaha... coocie monster show us health, that's cool. we must know that he eats almost EVERYTHING, hell, he even ate a car in the movie.

  • That's true, nothing of edible being is safe from Cookie Monster's black hole of a mouth. In fact, the first thing we've ever seen him eat on Sesame Street is the Letter W piece by piece while Kermit was giving us a lecture about it. Not to mention that huge,expensive-looking machine in that Ed Sullivan skit, shame it turned out to be a bomb in the end though lol!

  • Proof that Cookie Monster did NOT have to be turned into a veggie monster!

  • quite true indeed

  • @brightbite: Which, of course, he wasn't. In fact, the very same concept in this PSA was revisited in a "news interview" between Cookie Monster and Matt Lauer (complete with indignant fans with signs in the background) as a response to the "Veggie Monster" myth. The Youtube video ID is WY8jr_qdQLs if you want a look :)

  • Man. Thank god for you tube. somewhere , somehow, somebody's gonna have that obscure commercial you've been looking for! Thank you!

  • ill bet ten dollars with anybody who responds to this that thats not the real voice of cookie monster

  • It is. Frank Oz. Got the bet? :-)

  • @joejoejoe091 I'll take that - it IS Frank Oz!

  • Cookie Monster's always been an advocate of healthy eating. Now, about his grammar.

  • Where did you get this? It's wonderful. :D

  • man, cookie monster is my home dawg!

  • Does anyone know the number of who you have to contact to get a backhoe to deliver cookies to you?

  • a holocaust of cookies. COOOKIEJOIJTLK

  • He could have the other stuff baked into cookies.

  • I like carrot cookies alot!

  • I've been looking for this forever! Thank you!

  • Yeah, as if a balanced meal followed by a backhoe load of cOoOkIeEeEeS is still a balanced meal.

  • lol! Coooookieeeeees! A dream of every kid back then, to have a backhoe full of every cookie known dumped on them!

  • Kudos to you for uploading this! I've been trying to locate this for two years. One of the rarest of the Ad Council spots, and still among the weirdest...despite the somewhat faulty industry-biased nutritional advice.

  • Back in the days of the "4 basic food groups"!

  • I remember this one! Thanks!

  • thanks for uploading this classic!

  • What year is this from?

  • roughly 1970's

  • I recall this airing a lot on WABC in NY during the '70s on Saturday morning. An all-time classic!

Always loved the cookies falling out of his mouth. Helped to shave off those pesky calories. :-)
