I would have started at the other direction left to right peeling the top layer off, then it wouldn't attempt to dislodge the leaves and branches

was that painted drywall? what was the surface? what was the app tape? what was the vinyl? nice graphic art by the way...

Hi there, yes decal can be applied to a textured wall as long it's not to rough. The only thing to consider is that once applied you must press decal in to the grooves to properly adhere.
