  • I have a theory, maybe the character just couldn't transfer that well in the ring and that's why he was let go. Yeah he had promos, but those promo guys can usually pull that character in the ring...How is he supposed to do that with this character?

  • @josejr226 i see what your saying but think about what they did with him after that and where talking about sean o haire a guy who was in wcw a place where they pull crap gimmick out of the tolit and stuck it on guys daily so im sure he could make it happend and they didn't even let him wrestle in the gimmick on tv hunter got in vinces ear and made him grow sick of the gimmick and stuck him with piper afterwards

  • @guyofda90s Maybe, but I mean it's all speculation and "reputation"...We don't really know what happened because we weren't there. I know fans like to try to get all the stuff on what's going on backstage, but in the end we're the audience.

With that said, it's hard to pull THIS gimmick off in the ring. I think Piper didn't help, but at the same time the audience wasn't giving O'haire the reaction while he was in the ring.

  • @josejr226 maybe but you can't deny vince drop the ball with this gimmick cause this charracter is so good people are still talking about it today and this was back in what 04,06

this vince mcmahon johnny ace and paul and stephanie lavesque are all fucktards but hey! im not telling you nothing you don't already know

  • @guyofda90s Ha...Yeah people talk about it...but at the end of the day it just didn't work. The crowd didn't care enough about this guy.

As far as people talking about it, read the Phantasio vs. Tony DeVito comments...That just reminds me how dumb some fans really are

  • @josejr226 naw you know what it was it was a gimmick ahead of its time the audience was ready 4 such a revolutionary taboo like charracter like that but today if you used this same gimmick with a guy who has that same mildly sadistic but at the same time kinda badass look o' haire had it would probleby mad some good ass storylines and feuds cause you can't say people don't like this cause there a show called pinn and teller bullshit that is just like this and its a good show

  • @guyofda90s Yeah I watch Penn and Teller's show every once in a while. But here's the thing, under the right circumstances ANYONE can get over with the audience at any time. I don't think it's a matter of "if they used it today" because I go back to my original point of it being hard to showcase the character in the ring. Promos help, but not wrestling in the ring which is what the problem was to begin with

  • @guyofda90s Loved the last paragraph of your comment. Also, I think this gimmick was from 2003, possibly 2002.

  • @thetrophyone thats weird to hear a possitive comment about me on youtube cause usually i piss people off (HATERS GONNA HATE) iguess but shawn o'hare devil advocate gimmick debuted in january 2003 then WWE and was scrapted in april 03

  • @guyofda90s Ok, thanks for clearing that up for me. I was trying to figure out when I stopped watching WWE and it was around this time. Because I remember O' Haire disappearing. My last real solid memory of a WWE segment was Kane taking off his mask...what a horrible idea. We all could have lived without the Kane/Matt Hardy/Lita love triangle storyline I'd see when flipping through the channels.

  • @thetrophyone don't remind me of unmask kane please yea he had some good moments like when he wrestled the returning deadman gimmick undertaker set J.R on fire and electricuted shane mcmahons nuts which was funny but gay but the best thing wwe could of ever did was put the mask back on kane thank u wwe u got one right

  • @guyofda90s Hey, sorry about the reminder. But yeah, Kane masked again...only took them like 8 years to figure out it sucked. So they are a little bit slow, but they get some amount of credit.

  • @thetrophyone yeah but it hard to when they do so much stupid shit like the natalya fart shit..................REALLY

  • @josejr226 feud with the Undertaker :P

  • I miss those "Put a little Smackdown on it" shirts.

  • Im not telling you anything you already know

  • If Sean O'Haire was in WWE right now with this gimmick, it would make an awesome feud with CM Punk

  • @rher08 i totally agree, wwe was out of there fucking minds to let him go like that.

  • @ianhitman

It kinda does when your whole gimmick is based off of being a devil's advocate. The majority of his gimmick consisted of promos where Lesnar was just an insane monster heel.

  • @DarkmatterDM thats why they never gave Lesnar a gimmick of a talker. You play to someones strengths. its not his fault WWE gave him a gimmick he couldnt carry.

  • Gosh jolly gee-willikers! Brian talked like a kid.

  • Kendrick was horrible in this segment. He sold pretty good though. Sean O'Haire is sexy!

  • @MB69RatedR

He was pretty much good acting as rookie IMO

  • he is hot...:P

  • what year was this?

  • so hes like a super homosexual or what..

  • @thefriendsociety

    lol nope he's a Devil's Advocate

  • biggest waste...such a dope gimmick

  • bill from tough enough

  • who is sean o'haire

  • @Phoenix1996f A really talented wrestler who had his gimmick pulled by the WWE. Fans still come to view his videos because he is just that damn good. Hell, I'm not tellin' you anything you don't already know!

  • @papillonaquatique no i had no idea

  • @papillonaquatique

rumor has it that when he tried doing his promos to live audiences he couldnt keep a straight face. im not sure how true that is though

  • @jhniscolV2 Heard that too way back when. Also heard that he really didn't have a desire to be a wrestler anymore. Whatever the reason, this character had and still has HUGE potential in the right hands.

  • Great segment!

  • The gimmick wasn't half assed. It got dropped because the crowds didn't give a shit.

Hindsight is 20/20. Now we look back and think that gimmick is awesome. Back then nobody cared about it, and thus it got dropped.

If they tried it again with the right person, it would probably get over. I just don't think anybody has the Maniacal Genius appearance of Sean.

  • another actual good idea half assed away by the WWE

  • ah,chris benoit...such a cool guy :D

  • O'Haire's gimmick got spoiled when piper became his manager n got sacked a wk or so later, O'Haire went to velocity n then had a motorbike accident then he was sacked from wwe, he's retired from wrestling now he's in martial arts

  • sean o haire with this gimmick was the ultimate tweener

  • somebody should of done that to him when he became THE Brian Kendrick

  • O'Haire & Demott should come back.

  • fuck sean o'haire was so badass fuck wwe for pulling this gimmick

  • @MacPr0xnxx0 Is it just me or is o'Haire's gimmick basically the devil.

  • @bennydevil2000 Devil's advocate.

  • the one with the formal clothing?

  • Yes it is

  • is that o'haire?
