@TerryB01 Yes that's Lorenzo Music as the voice of Peter Venkman and Garfield. Music voiced Venkman for half of the series until he, along with the voice actors for Winston and Janine, were replaced. For me that's whem the show went downhill because I couldn't stand Venkman's new voice by Dave Coulier, Janine's voice by Kath Soucie, and Slimer becoming a main character (instead of occasional comedic relief).

I adored TRGB growing up. It was dark, atmospheric, had great storylines, the music was ALWAYS AMAZING (so chilling and really set the scene), but yet funny and friendly as always.

I'd imagine so. Peter spends his money on women, and Ray and Egon on their experiments and inventions, so Winston has to have something to spend his money on.

Winston starts researching stuff in the Real Ghostbusters plots, actually becoming a more cerebral member of the team, eg, Night Game. And in the 88MPH comic he gets a doctorate like the others (between the movie and the start of 'LEGION'). I think the idea of the films being made ABOUT the Real Ghostbusters characters, nicely side-steps discontinuities between the two. It made it seem as though the ghostbusters existed, and had a movie about one of their adventures made in Hollywood.

@Animaster81 I remember one short story section in a ghostbuster comic script book I had as a child. Egon tried to explore where the food actually goes. In the end they showed (as a joke ofcourse) that the food directly goes to an alternate dimension inhabitted only by ghosts and goes directly to a McDonalds chain and gets served :D

It goes straight through, if he throws it down with force eg. a turkey leg. McDonald's story sounds typical of the stories written in the MARVEL Real Ghostbusters large format comic from the UK, which I used to enjoyed reading as a kid :) Going in the same spirit, Egon might say ..Earth's gravitational field is stronger than Slimer's psychokinetic field..well, he might lol :) He just slimes it down, the food slimes through him and it emerges undigested. I know I'm being really technical(?!)

Used to watch this show every afternoon after school. Was my first introduction to the anime style of art. I liked the characters from the Extreme Ghostbusters, but they can't hold a candle to the ambiance and great stories of the original. I'm sad to say that the cartoons nowadaws are a total joke compared to this.

the game hints that Winston is a Knicks and a Jets fan.....copyright issues probably prevented them from putting the Yankees or the Mets on this show......at least they get mentioned though, wonder what baseball team Winston really likes, haha

I'ts hard to reconcile the movie actors with the cartoon guys, how do you long time fans do it?

The writers of the cartoon show tried to emulate the individual personality of each Ghostbuster as it was in the movie for the cartoon. I think they succeeded very well in doing so -- there's a continuity between the movie and the cartoon of how we believe Peter, Ray, Winston, and Egon would act in a certain situation. The writers were really fantastic in that regard.

The revival is probably due to the recent release of the complete series of The Real Ghostbusters on DVD (which I have now :P, it's fantastic) and the imminent release of the Ghostbusters video game.
